17/03/2025: Nulla da dire sul percorso degustazione. Piatti studiati e ricercati.
Purtroppo, però, sono rimasta molto delusa dall'atteggiamento del gestore che mi ha messo a disagio poichè non potevo tenere la mia giacca con me (di cui avevo bisogno per alzarmi). Sono stata richiamata perchè dovevo necessariamente lasciarla al guardaroba quando in realtà c'erano tavoli pieni di gente che lasciava la propria giacca sulla sedia. Non ho ancora compreso il motivo.
Non mi sono affatto sentita a mio agio, ho dovuto tenere la giacca per tutto il tempo addosso, recandomi disagio per il caldo.
Si è parlato di rispetto del regolamento. Ok, a casa degli altri ci si comporta assoggettandosi alle regole, non ho nulla da dire. Ma vorrei che siano applicate le stesse regole a tutti.
Non ci tornerei.

Si mangia molto bene. La proposta è basata su piatti tradizionali, rivisitati con apprezzabili intuizioni della giovanissima chef.
Il valore aggiunto è il proprietario: discreto, premuroso e davvero ospitale. Ci si sente come a casa.
Conto molto onesto.

Max, que está al frente del restaurante es encantador y servicial, te aconsejará sobre los platos y vinos, y habla muy buen inglés.
Volveremos este verano.

We can only recommend this place, the food is incredible and all ingredients are locally sourced. The owner is lovely and highly knowledgeable on the wine and products he sells. No wonder the rating is so high. This is a true gem!

06/03/2025: I very rarely publish reviews, but this time, it’s deserved! We went there as a family and were wonderfully welcomed. To put it simply: it was the best pizza of our stay. The dough was both light and crispy, and the toppings were excellent. Everyone was won over!
The establishment is slightly away from the tourist hustle and bustle, with a local clientele—which is generally a good sign. We will return with great pleasure during our next stay!

We took the lunch menu with the egg cooked at 63°, the Milanese risotto with ossobuco and the dessert, to which we added a braised meat with celeriac cream and mushrooms. As an entrée they brought us two falafel each on top of a purple carrot mayonnaise. All extremely good, I would have done an encore of everything, but it is the Milanese risotto that is illegal due to how good it is. Very kind and professional waitress, welcoming and very nice place, with the possibility of sitting both inside and outside on the square overlooking the lake. Very high quality/price, I will definitely return.
16/03/2025: Refined cuisine without being snobbish, tasty and satisfying. A plus also comes from the service: attentive, prepared and very kind waitress.

26/02/2025: Tutto è perfetto qui, nell’ex dimora de “la Bela Rusin”, la moglie morganatica di Re Vittorio Emanuele II. I fratelli Piero e Ugo Alciati continuano la grande tradizione gastronomica del papà Guido riproponendo sempre in grande stile i loro piatti della tradizione. Per noi questa volta il menù da 85€ con un risotto al cardo gobbo che da solo valeva il viaggio. Poi agnello, finanziera, agnolotti da mangiare “a mani nude”, dolci strepitosi. Inutile sottolineare la cordialità e bravura del personale di sala perfetto anche nel consigliare i vini “giusti”.

24/03/2025: It is now the sixth time, in the last 6 years, that I have returned to Bar à fromage. The service is always excellent, this time we also added a nice platter of local cured meats and cheeses to the raclette, followed by really good desserts.
In my opinion the restaurant is among the best in the Aosta Valley, for the food, the service, the environment and the windows overlooking the slopes.
03/03/2025: Stunning place, beautiful view and fantastic food, well-trained staff.
Surely if you go to Cogne you can't help but stop and taste what the Bar a Fromage offers.
I recommend it you will not be disappointed.

26/02/2025: We chose this place for dinner and had an authentic experience. Every detail, from the mise en place to the preparation of the dish and the sequence of tastings, is carefully studied. The chef has a complete preparation that ranges from beverage to cuisine. We found the description of the wines pleasant and interesting and we welcomed his suggestion, the wine was excellent and suitable for the route we chose. Each dish was tasty and innovative in the combination of ingredients and flavors. The service is impeccable and the environment is welcoming. We can't wait to go back! Highly recommended.
