The service was courteous and very friendly.
The food was very good.
They brought you bread and salami as a welcome appetizer, and they offered us a sample of mascarpone for dessert.
Highly recommended.

14/05/2026: Average place. Fairly quick service. Excellent food. No signage. If you know it, you'll find it. Make a reservation, otherwise you'll starve. Prices are high, but the quality is there and you can taste it.
14/05/2026: Lunch with a group of friends. Authentic trattoria, spectacular first courses. For me, the best were the tortellini with cream and the gramigna with sausage, but I must say that everything was very good.

We were served by Enrico, who was super kind and even let my 7-year-old son help him carve the prosciutto.
All the cured meats were exceptional, not to mention the boiled and roasted meats.

18/05/2026: A restaurant serving traditional Emilian and Po Valley cuisine. I particularly recommend the superb boiled meats and the selection of first courses, including traditional stuffed pasta dishes. The desserts are also noteworthy.
The atmosphere is clean and simple, with ample seating.
The restaurant is conveniently located near the Modena Sud highway exit.
Good value for money.

18/04/2026: A small, simple trattoria with excellent food. The menu features traditional Modenese dishes that are of a high standard, but for dessert, you absolutely must try the cannoli or cassata, which are sourced directly from Sicily (the owners' home region). We had a wonderful time here for a quiet family lunch.

I loved the idea of having the various desserts on a tray so you can decide which one to choose.

30/05/2026: I rarely leave reviews, but when I do, it's because a place truly deserves a recommendation.
I'd start with the service: I found customer service, professionalism, and kindness that, unfortunately, are no longer so commonplace. That's why I was pleasantly surprised.
Then the dishes... simply spectacular. The pumpkin-filled tortelli were fabulous, while the Modena-style cutlet with prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano, and balsamic vinegar was truly sublime.
My companion was also completely satisfied: he loved the lasagna and, especially, the lamb ribs.
The bill was in line with other restaurants in the area, so the quality-price ratio was absolutely reasonable.
Recommended is an understatement. Until next time, because there will definitely be another!

02/06/2026: We had lunch with a couple of friends the first weekend in May at this typical Modena trattoria. The atmosphere is characteristic of old-fashioned trattorias, with wooden tables and a rustic ambiance. The staff is very friendly, but young and inexperienced, so don't expect impeccable service. However, the quality of the food is excellent and plentiful, and it's mostly local (the tagliatelle with ragù is truly amazing, the meat and cured meats are top-quality, as is the crostata di duroni). The quality/price ratio is exceptional, and the food is typical of old-fashioned trattorias. Highly recommended.

13/05/2026: The best of the best of the best of Modena's tradition. Tortellini and a trolley of boiled meats are mind-blowing. Simply the best. We go there for special occasions but also for dinners with friends. Best to book to secure a table.

17/05/2026: Overall, a decent experience: the food wasn't bad, and some dishes were even good, especially the starters. The wait was a bit long, and the tigelle were too full of pasta. The bill seemed decidedly high for what we ate: €64 without a receipt (a fake receipt), which left me a bit perplexed. I'm fine with them doing business under the table, but since they're saving on taxes, they could at least have offered a discount. Overall, the quality-price ratio needs to be reconsidered, in my opinion.

02/05/2026: We were passing through Modena on a road trip and were simply looking for a place near the highway to grab a quick lunch before heading back. We stumbled upon this "osteria," and upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner in front of a charming farmhouse. It's a shame that from there, more of a show than a meal begins.
The owner immediately begins with long, nostalgic tales about the inn's past, the supposed excellence of the cuisine, and the fact that the menu was "designed specifically for the day." It's a shame that reading other reviews is enough to realize that the menu is practically always the same: the narrative seems part of a charade designed to sell authenticity where there is little authenticity.
The real problem is that here, the customer doesn't order: the owner decides. We tried several times to ask for certain dishes and were continually interrupted or corrected, with inappropriate comments about how "we eat badly." After much persuasion, they finally brought us what we had asked for, almost as if they were doing us a favor.
The famous "handmade" tortelli are honestly not the least bit convincing: all perfectly identical, industrial in appearance, and above all, hard and of mediocre quality. Some of us ordered meatballs with mashed potatoes that were completely bland, flavorless, and even visually unappealing. Meanwhile, the rambling monologues continued about the history of the place and the supposed special May Day menu, which clearly wasn't special.
We skipped dessert. The coffee, billed almost as a gourmet experience simply because "they make it," was awful and not even a noteworthy espresso. The icing on the cake: a cherry wine that was simply undrinkable.
Another unpleasant experience at the register, with problems paying by card and a completely unjustified bill: around €30 per person despite not ordering full menus, with some people eating only one dish and not even having coffee.
Honestly, I struggle to understand how this place gets five-star reviews. More than a tavern, it seems like a play built on stories, fake tradition, and highly questionable quality. One of the worst gastronomic experiences I've ever had in Emilia Romagna.
