15/03/2026: Welcoming place, but above all, we had a wonderful lunch, with excellent quality and courtesy.
Traditional dishes include sublime cotechino, delicate cospeton (herring), perfect riso alla pilota, and excellent pumpkin tortelli.
Prices are in line with the quality and quantity.
If you visit the Santuario delle Grazie, which is truly worth it, stop at the Locanda for a Mantuan culinary pit stop.

10/04/2026: Excellent 5-course menu. A very original tiramisu of potato and cod mousse, tataki, ricciola tartare, spaghetti nero with scallops. Dessert: hazelnut semifreddo and caramel fondant. Accompanied by a 100% Pinot Meunier sparkling wine from a small producer. Very generous portions. We highly recommend it.
06/04/2026: In my opinion, personal opinion, kind and everything, but prices too, too, high, very long wait compared to the small clientele, the dishes may be good, but not to my taste, too elaborate

22/03/2026: An experience. Culinary and more. A true osteria, where the host and the chef are NOT the same person. Like any great team, the result is achieved together, each doing their part and allowing the other to do the same, with mutual respect and trust. The chef is known through dishes built on excellent ingredients (with an abundance of Slow Food Presidia) and a great attention to translation, reinterpretation, and enjoyment. Because if you don't enjoy yourself, why bother eating out?! The host is incredibly knowledgeable about beers, wines, and cheeses. Don't be afraid to ask for advice and explanations; instead, be willing to take the time to listen, because when passion, expertise, and an innate charm come together, you can't do anything else :)
Finally, the prices are absolutely reasonable. And there's also the possibility of finding solutions that are definitely affordable for everyone... You can't always have two courses with a cheese cart and dessert! Although here it would be worth it...
10/03/2026: High-quality products... cooked well and with so much passion.
The fried gnocchi are exquisite...the stracotto and pumpkin-filled tortelli in three variations are also highly recommended...exceptional.
We concluded the dinner with a selection of cheeses and mustards, all accompanied by a wonderful Giuseppe (the manager)...everyone's cousin (when you pay)....good expireance.

01/04/2026: Last time we came to enjoy a business lunch for €15: a first course, a second course, water, wine, and coffee, all delicious 👍👍👍Two years ago we came for the à la carte lunches😋😋😋
The restaurant has two small but simply furnished rooms, with a few paintings that tell the history of Solferino, a mirror that makes the place look a little larger, and a 1930s-style clock.
The excellent cuisine invites you to return:
delicious wild boar tortelli with fondue, the sliced beef - flavorful and melts in the mouth, the pâté on crostini is a pleasure to savour.
The "house wine" is also good and cleanses your mouth, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness. 😋
Usually, if I drink wine, I get bottled wine... but the "Speranza" one is truly excellent. 👍
I also recommend the desserts: delicious. 😋
At reasonable prices. 👍

We returned with our family full of anticipation to try the new management, after so many wonderful culinary experiences with the Martini family. The setting was expertly renovated, and the service was consistently excellent. When we tasted the new management's dishes, we were initially drawn to the presentation but shocked by the lack of quality in taste and interpretation of some dishes. The risotto alla pilota was overcooked and flavorless, the snails had little flavor, and the seafood tagliolini didn't arouse any emotion. The desserts deserve special mention, as they were definitely a cut above. The table service and the staff's professionalism were excellent. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and almost "betrayed" by a restaurant that over the years has always provided us with pleasant moments and great cuisine. The quality/price ratio was insufficient. A real shame.
29/03/2026: The wild boar skewers exceeded all my expectations, absolutely sublime on the palate.

11/03/2026: Good food, relatively simple—in keeping with the concept of an osteria, so it's fair enough—and also quite traditional. I personally can't say I had a bad meal, but my colleague wasn't as pleased. The wine selection was good, and the cured meats and cheeses also seemed interesting, but we didn't try them (we opted for two courses plus dessert, so we sampled several dishes). The service was courteous and pleasant.
Given the location's historic character, we might have expected a more satisfying menu and a more aesthetically pleasing ambience, without losing the rustic feel of an osteria. The price was a bit high (but not by much, anyway) for what we ate and the ambience.

22/03/2026: A couple runs this restaurant in a renovated 200-year-old building. It has a swimming pool, and the meat dishes are excellent in both taste and service. The atmosphere in the rooms is superb. It's quiet. Be careful on the national highway outside town, and I recommend going by car if possible. I want to go again.

The cuisine is traditional, featuring all the delicacies of the Gonzaga family.
The service is fairly quick but attentive.
The final bill is average for the city.
11/04/2026: It was our only certainty from the weekend we organized last Mantua. This osteria is a must-try for those who want to try traditional dishes. We focused on the first courses, all delicious. Special mention for the picon risotto. The atmosphere was peaceful and everyone was very friendly. Recommended!!
