09/07/2024: The setting is beautiful, the service was excellent, great selection of wine but the food was laking flavor and it feels that the portion control crew went out of their way to give as less food as possible and win the prize for starving the patrons. It was pretty much tree grapes and a pea type meal for the price of T-bone steak. We have no idea why people like it. We ordered few dishes, one of them was red prawn carpaccio and it looked beautiful but was just bland. The “special” sauce spaghetti was ok but was not worth the price. The guinea fowl with potatoes was just ok and had two finger size pieces of meat and a tablespoon of potatoes- no flavor whatsoever, it could have may as well been just regular chicken. The dessert was good but also very small for 15 euros. We had better experiences in the restaurants all over the world, we are foodies and don’t mind to spend our money on excellent food experiences, but that restaurant did not wow us. I wish we would have gone to some mom and pop restaurant around the corner. The picture shows half of the carpaccio- we asked them not to split it but they did, it was paper thin and needed some seasoning.

26/05/2024: Beautiful discovery in Morciano di Romagna. We took a tasting menu that impressed us, both in quality and goodness. Excellent service and very nice location, we will definitely return when in the area.

09/07/2024: Fabulous Italian cuisine, made to order, with unforgettable flavors. A festival of dishes including an eggplant and tomato millefeuille to die for. Very finely crafted wines that the boss offers you with a pleasure and complicity that delights you. Mandatory reservation.

23/07/2024: En fantastisk restaurang endast ett stenkast (500 m) från tågstationen Bologna centrale. Serverar både frukost hela dagen och öppet lunchtid. Vi fick den godaste pasta bolognese vi någonsin ätit (finns även med vegofärs om så önskas), nybakat bröd och underbart bemötande trots att vi kom med barn och ryggsäckar och önskade lunch lite för tidigt för att hinna med vårt tåg. Rekommenderas verkligen om ni har vägarna förbi Bologna!

23/07/2024: This ice cream is unmissable. Perfect before leaving Italy. Not cheap, but the flavors are definitely good. Especially considering that the alternatives at the airport definitely leave something to be desired...

21/07/2024: Venchi is truly an institution...!!! One of the best ice creams around... definitely top 3 in 75% chocolate and above. I must also say that at Bologna airport they have truly top staff. I often travel from this airport and every time it is a very pleasant experience to have an ice cream from them... (strictly chocoviar...!!!). Like today, where I was "pampered" by these two girls who, like the others obviously..., have once again demonstrated professionalism and courtesy... despite the delirium of people who crowded the airport and the point of sale...: very good them...well done everyone...!!! Thank you Mr. Venchi…😉

12/07/2024: Trovato per caso, incuriosita dalle persone in coda....credo di aver mangiato le lasagne più buone che abbia mai provato. Molto cortesi e disponibili pietanze ottime, peccato di averlo scoperto tardi da tornarci e ritornarci

22/06/2024: Excellent cuisine and quality. Perhaps little choice between the latter. Almost a pizza and a very tasty first course with red mullet, perhaps the first course not so plentiful.

16/06/2024: A good evening in a minimalist environment. Some excellences such as the cuttlefish cappuccino, other less successful experiments. Raw materials as they should be. The low rating is a consequence of the burnt taste of the cuttlefish served as a second course.

23/06/2024: Starred restaurant 10 minutes from Reggio Emilia, a peaceful setting in the first hills of Reggio surrounded by greenery and quiet. My first experience of a starred restaurant, largely satisfied and truly ecstatic. At the reception we were invited to visit the dynamic organic garden, with vegetables and aromatic herbs and to enjoy an alcoholic and non-alcoholic aperitif. We booked the “Oltremare” seafood tasting which I was able to benefit from despite my lactose intolerance and being pregnant. 6 courses of fish and fresh vegetables, every flavor has been enhanced and revisited. Simple and refined combinations at the same time, different textures, contrasts. All very good, we woke up full (unlike the stories of friends and experiences in starred restaurants) and with pampered palates; a not too formal environment given by dining room staff who put you at ease and at the same time serve you with great attention to detail; everyone was kind and welcoming, starting from the kind and very nice owner with whom we shared our experience as parents 💗. Thank you so much for this “culinary experience”!

21/06/2024: Last night we experienced Ca’ Matilde for the first time based on a personal recommendation, and it did not disappoint. We chose the vegetable menu and it was simply amazing. I don’t usually post reviews but this was so good I felt compelled to share our experience. Our evening started with a peaceful walk through their beautiful vegetable garden while sipping a glass of Lambrusco. Then we sat on the outside patio and were served the memorable “Hello from the kitchen” — a starter platter of beautiful small bites that were creative and oh-so scrumptious. The courses kept coming and we had difficulty deciding which was our favorite. Each course was unique and beautiful in presentation, and the depth of flavor is difficult to describe here. It became evident early on why it earned a Michelin star rating— it’s a dining experience for the senses. We want to thank the owner, Marcella, for ensuring we received top notch service the entire time we were there, and compliments once again to Chef Andrea for serving us a meal we will always remember.

06/07/2024: The pizza here is the best I have ever had. My family of 4 ate here for lunch for 38 euros and it was worth all of it. I had the Napoli which I ate super fast and it was really good. It was also very cool to see the chef make pizza like in the video below. Must go to. Highly recommend.

23/06/2024: One of the absolute best “fast-food” restaurants in Bologna. All of the ingredients are very fresh, the taste is amazing. We always grab something when we’re in the area.

24/06/2024: Highlights: The quality of the focaccia, which reminded me of a good "roscón de reyes", typical of Spain. The good quality of the ice cream and the right taste. The cream had a very pleasant and subtle citric taste. The first sandwich+ice cream combination that made me enjoy it so much. The good service and the price. Highly recommended.
