05/12/2025: Hostaria Tavernetta is one of Udine's gastronomic landmarks, combining elegance and Friulian familiarity with above-average quality. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and meticulously curated: soft lighting, an intimate yet not overly formal atmosphere. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a special dinner or a high-end business lunch. The cuisine is excellent: traditional Friulian dishes interpreted with a modern twist, selected ingredients, and evident attention to presentation. The pasta and meat dishes are the highlight, with balanced flavors. The wine list is also excellent, featuring fine regional labels. The service is professional, attentive, and very knowledgeable in explaining the dishes. The price is higher than a typical trattoria, but absolutely in keeping with the quality of the offerings. The location is excellent, in the heart of Udine's historic center, ideal for a stroll before or after dinner.

26/11/2025: Stunning location in the center of Udine; elegant decor with remarkable historic furnishings. Friendly and helpful staff, very welcoming owners. The highlights of the dinner, in my opinion, were the appetizers and dessert. The prosciutto and artichokes were fantastic, as was the tiramisu, served with freshly brewed coffee. Excellent experience, I'll definitely be back.

03/12/2025: Excellent restaurant in the center of Turin. The veal with tuna sauce is sublime, as is the braised cheek. The house specialty, the breaded steak, and the artichoke flan are also very good. We weren't particularly hungry, but the deliciousness of the dishes made us enjoy everything!

21/11/2025: It's been years since I've eaten Japanese food, but we were really happy with this experience. The food was excellent, as was the service and the atmosphere. We'll be back very often.

14/11/2025: Well-kept sushi restaurant (but not only) on the edge of the historic center. I love the tables below floor level and also the table setting, simple but not tacky. Endless and tiring menu to consult with the QR code. Lots of "fusion" sushi with Philadelphia/avocado/red fruits that would turn up the nose of purists. More or less tasty sashimi depending on the type. Good rice. Fried rolls more or less spot on. Very fast service. We go there at least twice a year because we always leave satisfied, both for the sushi and for the more elaborate dishes. Excellent possibility of using the fork on the final bill.

18/11/2025: We had dinner at Coaster on Sunday evening. We discovered the place on Facebook. Starting from the moment we arrived, the staff were warmly welcomed, polite, and courteous. The place is beautiful, well-decorated, and tastefully decorated. The food is high-quality and expertly prepared. The pucce and fried fish were very good and plentiful, as was the platter. The drinks were top-notch, both the cocktails, which were very well-made, and the beers. Their beer, Origins, is a very good 7° IPA. Whiskey and other drinks were available. The staff was courteous, helpful, and qualified to recommend the best food/drink pairings. We'll see you again soon. 🔜 Neptune = Coaster. 🔝👏👏👏

23/11/2025: The three of us came for lunch, accompanied by our 50-kg Corso dog, who was greeted with great kindness and generosity. A plus for the animal-friendly approach! We ordered three main courses and three side dishes: everything was truly delicious, well-cooked, and carefully presented. The wine cellar is excellent, with a wide and high-quality selection, perfect for those who enjoy a fine glass of wine with their meal. The service was impeccable: the staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. The interior also deserves special mention: very charming and welcoming, ideal for a pleasant and relaxed lunch. A place we recommend without hesitation!

10/12/2025: We booked to celebrate our aunt's 98th birthday. A milestone that deserved a peaceful lunch, not an exercise in patience. We sat down at 12:40. A waiter (kind, it must be said) approached with a bottle in his hand, in what seemed like a welcoming gesture. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. We'll discuss it again at the checkout. At 12:50, they asked if we were ready to order. Too bad no one had informed us of the existence of a QR code—which is transparent, by the way. We ordered at 1:00 PM. My uncle was late, and we asked to move the order forward without taking his. We repeated this to both the waiter and the owner, who came to verify the situation. At 2:00 PM—an hour later—my mother politely asked the owner for an explanation. His response: "Look around, there are other tables." A lesson in empathy. At 2:20 PM, the dishes arrived. I had ordered two children's menus: plain pasta with cutlet and fries, and tomato pasta with cutlet and fries. Two girls, three and six, waited an hour and twenty minutes for a plate of pasta. In any minimally organized restaurant, children's dishes get priority. It's common sense: small children can't wait like adults; they're served first. Not here. Meanwhile, my daughters had stuffed themselves with bread, and when the food finally arrived, they weren't hungry anymore. And how did it arrive? All on the same plate: pasta, cutlet, and fries (if it had been written on the menu, we would have asked for them to be brought separately; it's not normal to bring three dishes at once, after all). So, while they finished the pasta, the cutlet had plenty of time to cool. A nice touch. And the food itself? Nothing memorable—except for my brother's tagliata, the only noteworthy dish. The rest were just plain old dishes. After an hour and twenty minutes of waiting, you'd at least expect something to justify the time wasted. But no. The main courses arrive at 2:45 PM. Speaking of the bill: those two bottles with such a polite initial gesture? 42 euros each. A rather steep "welcome." The waiters, I repeat, were courteous. The problem isn't them. The problem is a service that turns a meal into an exhausting wait, dishes that arrive without logic, and an owner who, faced with obvious inconvenience, chooses justification over apology. We won't be returning. Our aunt's birthday was saved by the company, certainly not by the experience. And at 98, frankly, she deserved better. I edited the review because a few things actually needed to be clarified. I made a mistake; the cheek had indeed been removed. Nor did I point out that we had asked for the order to be moved forward. Twice. Fair is fair.

05/11/2025: The bacon dumplings were unfortunately very dense. The salad was presented rather carelessly, the bread slices should have been crispier, some of the tomato pieces were enormous, the apricot dumpling was good, but the vanilla sauce was very runny and lacked any thickening. The plate could have been presented more attractively. They should consider whether the butter and cinnamon crumbs were sufficient. Perhaps a dollop of cream would be more visually appealing and better in terms of taste. The service was very attentive, almost a bit too much so. The ambiance was very nice.

07/12/2025: We came here on the recommendation of a friend and were delighted. After booking by phone, the owner greeted us upon our arrival. We immediately felt at home because of the warm welcome. The lovingly curated interiors are a reflection of someone who cares about their work. The food is equally exquisite. We had the orecchiette, which were nothing short of fabulous. Then we moved on to the delicious meat-based main courses. We finished our meal with a superb apple strudel, homemade by the owner's wife, who also happens to be the restaurant's chef. All this to say that as soon as we're in the area again, we'll definitely stop here again. It's truly worth it: the food is excellent, and you can taste the superior quality of all the ingredients. The price is also excellent!
