19/11/2025: To me, A’Marenna is the best place for sandwiches and salads in Sorrento—not only for the food, but also for the staff and the vibe! They have so many choices that it was hard to decide, since I liked so many toppings. I tried the panuozzo and the No.5 salad. Even though I’m not usually a fish lover, the tuna fillet was excellent—paired with cheese, almonds, apples, and greens, it offered layers of flavour and texture. I loved it so much that I ordered the same sandwich two days in a row! We ordered quite a lot: each salad comes with bread, and we also had a salad and a sandwich each. The staff wondered if we could finish everything, and we did—it became our dinner that day and breakfast the next morning. The staff were very friendly and chatted with us while preparing the food. One of them shared her love for Florence when I mentioned my upcoming trip, and when I returned the next day, they still remembered us despite serving so many customers daily. That made us feel really welcome. I also had a nice conversation with one of the staff about her holiday plans. She mentioned wanting to visit Tanzania but was concerned about the situation there. I truly hope she has a wonderful and safe journey—she deserves a relaxing holiday after such a busy tourist season.

11/11/2025: A nice little place with good food, in line with the prices in the area, which aren't cheap. The only drawback is the 2.50 cover charge. A paper placemat and paper napkin are a bit meager.

12/09/2025: The place is quaint, and you can eat outside in the courtyard, shaded by the trees. Service is fast, and the owners are attentive and courteous. The food is all authentic and high-quality; the cured meats and cheeses are excellent, as are the vegetables and crostini. The desserts are delicious. The prices are very fair. Definitely worth trying again. Reservations are recommended, as it's always crowded during opening hours.

16/12/2025: My husband and I are so passionate about Il Merlo that we chose it as the venue for our wedding reception. They were as helpful as they always have been over the years we've been dining there. Chef Elisa, Silvia in the dining room, and the entire staff are highly professional but also deeply sensitive. This is evident in the way they cook, serve, and address guests, and especially in the patience and helpfulness with which they supported us in planning our wedding. We couldn't have chosen a better location, a place that feels like family to us.

07/12/2025: Wonderful, it was an impromptu dinner among colleagues, so I was quite surprised. The ambiance, created in a renovated church, is meticulously crafted, adding charm and airiness to the place. Seats are limited, tables are spaced far apart, and there's room for both conviviality and privacy. The wait staff is friendly and warm, with a non-invasive presence that makes you feel pampered. Even the chef came to inquire at the end of the dinner, a very nice gesture. The dishes showcase the chef's creativity: imaginative, delicious, and very varied. The approach is innovative but with a clear connection to traditional dishes. There are six dishes on offer, in addition to the appetizers, because they are already conceived as a journey of flavors; there are also some off-menu items of the day. The portions are just right, and sampling many different dishes right from the start makes for a very pleasant dinner. The wine, including the house wine, is excellent; I recommend a visit to the cellar if it pleases the senses and the sense of humor. For an appetizer, a main course, wine, and cover charge, we paid €56 each, absolutely appropriate for the location and the attention to detail. The overall impression was enthusiastic; I'll definitely be back.

17/10/2025: I feel compelled to give one star for an absurd reason: we're going to dinner in August, 15 of us, a large bill, and 15 divided by 49 and something... what do they do? Rounding up to 50. This is already incredible, but it doesn't end there: those who want to pay in cash pay 47 euros, those who want to pay by card 52. These things really leave a mark; a place that should be absolutely top-notch has fallen dramatically in style. Sorry, but it's unacceptable to still see these things in a place where main courses start at 25-27 euros and up...
