22/05/2025: This little restaurant, hidden in an alleyway a few hundred meters from Piazza Santa Croce, is the best we've had during our week-long vacation. Everything is excellent!

19/05/2025: Food was excellent, service was the worst we've had in Italy. I ate here 10 years ago and thought it serendipitous that my husband and I managed to book an apartment for a week on the same street it was on. So naturally I wanted to bring him here! Much to our disappointment, it seemed our server was not very interested in us so it made our experience rather lackluster. Our food arrived quickly and everything was very tasty- but we were never offered dessert, or additional drinks, instead the server was either on his phone or talking to the other 2 tables. They were not busy. When we asked for our check, he dropped it off, and then proceeded to be on his phone, laugh and chat with the larger table near us or clean the table directly next to us for 10 minutes. Finally my husband just had to go up and ask to pay. Now I know some places in Italy, you pay up at a counter, but both tables we watched people pay at their tables- so who knows. But honestly it just felt like he didn't give two licks about us. Mind you we are polite and patient (ex service industry workers) but it just felt very dismissive. Who knows. I hope others have better experiences- I would think so with the 4.7 star rating. Would I recommend based on the food? Yes but honestly there are so many other places with better service - so....

16/06/2025: Here I play at home ... a very characteristic place with a typical Sicilian and Mediterranean flavor. Food and service always EXCELLENT ... I know the owners and they are really helpful and easy-going people. Highly recommended

08/06/2025: Ein Empfang wie bei Freunden, man erinnert sich an die beiden Gäste, die - wie auch gestern - sehr gerne früh da sind. Die immer gute Laune verbreitende Kellnerin empfängt uns wieder, begrüßt wird man sehr angenehm ebenso von dem Ruhe ausstrahlenden Inhaber, der jeden Tisch im Auge hat und seinen ebenso aufmerksamen Mitinhaberinnen. Küche, Bedienung und die Betreiberfamilien übertreffen sich wieder selbst: Der Weißwein aus dem heimischen Weinberg (aus der Forastiera-Traube mit etwas Biancolella sehr fein verschnitten), eine Empfehlung des versierten Kellners, schmeckt edel und mineralisch, der „tuffo verde“ lässt grüßen. Der Gruß aus der Küche war wieder ein Gaumenschmaus: gefüllte Zucchini. Die gemischte Vorspeisenplatte (auch auf Empfehlung) aus Fischtatar und rohen Meeresfrüchten ist von einer solchen Frische, dass selbst Sushirestaurants neidisch würden. Mit dem Seebarsch hat die Küche etwas Zeitloses kreiert. Der Fisch ist fein, gefüllt mit Kräutern und Fenchel und weiterem Gemüse, die Zutaten jedoch machen ihn zu einem Gedicht: Kartoffeln in Orangensauce und eine Gemüseplatte entfalten zusammen mit dem Fisch einen unwiderstehlichen Geschmack. Cheesecake mit Waldfrüchten und ein Erdbeersorbet runden eine wunderbare Erfahrung ab, gekrönt von einem Likör des Hauses aus Limone, Orange und Mandarine - eine perfekte Mischung. Die Verabschiedung ist herzlich, wir können nicht anders: wir kommen wieder 😎

09/05/2025: A memorable dinner, in a restaurant that knows how to combine tradition and taste with extraordinary simplicity. I Dù de la Contrada is the kind of place where every dish speaks with sincerity and substance. We opened with a poached egg, delicate and creamy, executed with technical precision and served with refined taste. The carrot meatballs with paprika, surprising for their balance and lightness, tell of a vegetable cuisine that doesn't need to shout to be remembered. The absolute protagonist of the evening was the beef in oil with polenta: a Brescia classic performed with skill. The very tender meat, the rich and velvety base, and the just the right rough polenta: a dish that warms, satisfies, conquers. Grand finale with the rose cake and Chantilly cream: soft, fragrant, delicious without excess. A perfect closure. To make everything even more pleasant, impeccable service, with kind, friendly and attentive staff, capable of putting you at ease from the first moment. Full five stars, and all deserved. A real cuisine, a sincere welcome: to be recommended without hesitation.

11/06/2025: We happened upon this beautiful restaurant in Sasso Marconi by chance. When it was time to order, chef Andrea Funi came to explain the menu to us personally, and you can already sense the passion and soul he puts into his restaurant from this. From appetizers to dessert, the chef carefully chooses the raw materials (strictly local) and the flavor combinations, and you can immediately understand that every little detail in the dish has an idea and a lot of love behind it. Both the traditional dishes such as tagliatelle with ragù are delicious, as are those born from the chef's idea such as horse tartare with cherry, lavender, and burrata ice cream. Also not to be missed are the chef's own wines. At the end of the evening we stayed to talk with the chef who showed us the different wines he produces, explaining the idea behind each one. The rest of the staff is also kind and helpful. In short, the atmosphere you experience in this restaurant is very intimate and welcoming, perfect for those looking for a unique experience that goes beyond eating. We can't wait to go back!

10/06/2025: Coming from Belgium, we were welcomed by Chef Andrea Funi himself. This passionate and, even more so, fascinating chef explained the menu, which features seasonal and regional products. The chef bases his concept on local products (from the Bologna region) that he personally selected. Respect for the product is central to his creations. The products are of great finesse, and the dishes are unique. Donkey tartare, burrata ice cream, cherry, lavender, and capers; to give an idea of ​​the surprising and delicate combinations. The Chef pays attention to every detail, from textures to temperatures and seasonings. They choose to cook with olive oil instead of butter to ensure lightness and delicacy. The service was remarkable and attentive. Everything is spot on. The bread is homemade, and the Chef is an organic wine producer himself! We ordered their excellent Syrah, which is limited to 700 bottles per year. In short, the experience was delightful in every way. Thank you to the entire team at Trattoria la Grotta.

Ma il vero protagonista è il cibo. Ogni piatto racconta una storia di terra e mare. Una cucina sincera, generosa, fedele alle radici sarde. Consigliatissimo per chi cerca un’esperienza gastronomica autentica e piena di gusto.

05/06/2025: I've tried many ice creams in my life, but RivaNeno topped them all. Creamy, intensely flavored, and perfectly balanced. My wife and I were both absolutely thrilled—every spoonful was a little experience. I particularly recommend Cremino RivaReno and Banoffee RivaReno. Friendly staff, fair prices, and not mass-produced goods, but genuine craftsmanship. If you're in Florence, you absolutely have to go. Several times.

06/06/2025: What a special find on the beautiful Amalfi Coast! The previous reviews were not wrong. A warm, hospitable welcome, stunning atmosphere and delicious food. We loved our first dinner so much we decided to make our last dinner in Amalfi here as well. The Lemon Pasta, Chicken Limone and Seafood dishes were delicious as well as the desserts...be sure to try the Limoncello Tiramisu, Torta de la Nonna and Lemon Delight was magic!
