21/10/2025: After a breathtaking and nerve-wracking drive through the vineyards east of Merano, the first thing you need is a drink to enjoy the picturesque view. You can get just that at the Greiterhof. The friendly host, Alexander, welcomes you with open arms and explains how things work on the mountain. This young man specializes in making everything himself, and that is his goal. Almost every bite that ends up on your plate is either homemade or at least from neighboring farms. A special highlight in the South Tyrolean calendar is the annual Törggelen, which, of course, is also offered here. In addition to barley soup, three kinds of meat, and doughnuts, local wine is served. Those who prefer a vegetarian meal should pre-order, as vegetarians are still just as uncommon at Törggelen as a South Tyrolean who speaks fluent Italian. What is particularly remarkable is that the host apparently runs the whole operation single-handedly. From taking your order to cooking, serving, and billing, everything is done with a smile and interspersed with short anecdotes from the life of a mountain farmer. The special hospitality is evident when you're offered a whole jug of schnapps for free. A true gesture of honor, considering the whole thing doesn't cost much.

02/10/2025: Intrigued by a friend who had told me about this pizzeria several times, I went with him a week ago, and then yesterday I went with my children. What a wonderful discovery! The pizza is delicious; you can't understand it without trying it. Light and tasty, it doesn't have that annoying mozzarella broth in the center typical of most Neapolitan pizzas. Every bite is a poem of authentic flavors, both from the 72-hour leavened dough and the excellent quality ingredients. The atmosphere and management are family-friendly; you feel at home, welcomed by both the owner and the waitress, who I believe is her daughter, both extremely kind. A highly recommended experience, one to repeat again and again.

The service was outstanding — attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations. We felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. 12/10/2025: We ate last night in the osteria il Pacchero and it was a delight ! Our only regret is that we have to leave today and will not be able to come back tonight ! The meat and fish were perfectly cooked and so fresh. Thank you also for your friendly hospitality and kindness, we will definitively recommend and hopefully come back !

03/11/2025: In response to the owner's counterarguments posted on The Fork, I'd like to clarify that we didn't reach an agreement with anyone; the quality of the food was simply terrible. The potato cake was bad, inedible, and nonsensical; the fries were old and stale, probably fried in stale oil; the ravioli were a mixture of radicchio-flavored cream with completely unrelated flavors. The icing on the cake was the complete mess, a sign of your unpreparedness and lack of professionalism. Instead of responding with innuendo and other such remarks, you'd do well to engage in some self-criticism and remedy the organization worthy of a village festival, with inedible dishes presented in an embarrassingly 1980s-style manner. Chaos is bearable, but the scarcity of the dishes offered is not. The bill was disproportionate. Feel free to reply here too... so I can tell you more. From the water tanks between the tables, to the stench of smoke inside the restaurant, to the fact that you employ kids who are completely unprepared for dining room service.... If you want, you can continue... Reorganize yourself instead of accusing your customers and do a little self-criticism. Presumption won't get you very far. Excellent, I see you understood correctly!!! Regarding the comments made about me, be careful of a serious lawsuit...you described yourself perfectly!!!!! Regarding the dishes you prepared, they came back unfinished and were nothing but delicious, and honestly, I felt ashamed for you to suggest certain dishes. You can also eat pizza, which is what my group did. All the pizzas were good on top, but if you turned them over, they were all burned underneath, giving them that bitter taste that burnt pizza gives. I'm sorry to say this, but the pizza chef needs to work a little harder. As for the atmosphere, it's cozy; the only advice I can give is to use less wood in the stove.

02/10/2025: Good cuisine with local products, reasonably priced compared to similar restaurants in the area. The raw meat is excellent. Avoid the butter and sage plin, however, as they have only a hint of seasoning, resulting in dry and stringy pasta. The desserts are decent, but nothing special. The service is courteous and friendly.

28/09/2025: Excellent trattoria nestled in the hills of Monforte. Generous portions and very reasonable prices for both quality and quantity (the tajarìn with ragù was only €10). The food was all excellent and beautifully presented. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially one of the waitresses who was particularly approachable and made us feel at home. It's the perfect place for a quiet Sunday lunch with friends. Highly recommended!
