18/10/2025: Food is great. Prices are too. It's at a perfect location, right next to an overlook of Florence. Only downside is being right next to a road with noisy bikes and cars.

02/11/2025: The place is nice and quiet, and the decor is tasteful. The dishes we ordered were good, with one exception: the pizza dough, while tasty, was definitely not homemade. As a pizza lover, I know this same elongated shape with the same consistency is available commercially under the name PINSA. Furthermore, we didn't see the chef working the dough at all. However, the toppings were of good quality, let's be honest. In short, a nice place, admittedly, but a bit pricey.

16/10/2025: Great food, weird vibes… My partner and I wandered in after finding it on the Michelin app, and were able to get a table on a Sunday night as it wasn’t busy. Multiple people greeted us quickly and warmly, but consequently we did feel rushed to order. Though friendly at first, the waitress seemed put out when we ordered only pasta (no appetizers or meats), which left us feeling uncomfortable. This was exacerbated by the nearly empty restaurant (granted, it was on the early side) with no music and dated, stuffy decor. I understand our order may have been unusual for upscale Italian dining. But since we weren’t taking up a table on a busy night and waiters’ wages don’t depend on tips in Italy, I thought it was rude to make us feel as if we were being tolerated for not ordering more. The actual food was really good. The complimentary pumpkin soup was delicious, and both the tench ragout and linguine with scallops were amazing. We ordered an apricot tart for dessert, and were pleased with it and the additional brownies. Just a shame about the service experience.

16/10/2025: In a place where we've often found prices quite high, here you pay but you get a lot. The tasting menu (meat) we tried offered excellent quality ingredients, beautifully presented and even better when tasted. Special mention goes to the fruit sorbets, brilliantly presented and remarkable in flavor (they alone make you want to return to the restaurant—which we did). The staff is not only extremely knowledgeable about both the food and the matching wines, but also very friendly and truly makes you feel at ease. Definitely worth a visit!

04/10/2025: A cozy atmosphere (both outside on the terrace and in the cellar vault), very attentive, friendly service, and every dish was a feast for the palate. Gabriele's restaurant is an absolute must. Especially the ragù and Peposo di Pierangela come highly recommended.

20/10/2025: Hostaria Viola is a very intimate and elegant restaurant, where you can sample the main dishes of Mantua's tradition. Each dish is carefully crafted down to the smallest detail, showcasing the "homemade" flavor to its fullest. The service is attentive and meticulous, making you feel like you're part of the family. The desserts deserve a special mention! Bravo!

20/10/2025: It's wonderful to still find places like this. The owners provide competent, punctual, and friendly service. There are just a few tables, and the place is pleasant and quiet. The pumpkin and herb tortelli are amazing. The ingredients are excellent. You can feel the owners' dedication and, I'd even say, their love for their work and for preserving this historic establishment. Congratulations!

02/11/2025: Amazing... truly... unique flavors... my compliments... The fried pork belly with its side dishes was truly something unique for me... Everything was truly exceptional. I had high expectations and they were far exceeded... I really recommend it and I hope to return soon. The saffron risotto with ossobuco was exceptional. But then be careful with everything... from the homemade felafel with red carrot cream offered by the restaurant while you wait, to the excellent bread and focaccia made by them. With the coffee they offered two desserts (just one coffee but there were two of us... so super sweet)... Thank you so much ❤️🙇🏼👍👌🥇🤙... everything was super at the right price 🙇🏼❤️🙇🏼🫶. I forgot about the dessert... what skill... a place I truly recommend with all my heart... I had a wonderful time. The girl in the dining room was also super kind and attentive... A truly sincere place in every way with extremely high quality ❤️. Trust me, it's truly SUPER 🙇🏼🥇👍❤️. I apologize to chef Massimiliano Celeste that I came to the restaurant without knowing what high cuisine I would find... forgive me 🙇🏼❤️. Truly an unforgettable dinner ❤️❤️❤️🥇🙇🏼

04/11/2025: Travelling Italy for our honeymoon. Came here for dinner as it was close to our Airbnb and from the get go, the experience was amazing! The server Andrea gave us suggestions that we appreciated. We initially ordered the prosciutto and melon, and he advised that the melon wasn’t in season so we got the prosciutto and Buffalo mozzarella with toasted bread instead. We ordered the ribeye with green peppercorn and potato, as well as the macaroni pasta with truffle and sausage. Prosecco for drinks and semifreddo for dessert. Loved the vibes and Italian music, staff are so friendly and warm. Memorable experience 🫶🏻
