14/10/2025: During my visit from September 14-21, 2025, I had a single room with half board. Three other friends stayed in one of the holiday apartments (3 rooms with shared bathroom and living room). A reasonable price comparable to an Alpine Club hut but considerably more comfortable; A simple but cozy room with a balcony, TV, wardrobe, and shower; A sauna area in the basement with a sauna, steam bath, whirlpool, Kneipp pool, and relaxation area; Half board with breakfast featuring muesli, fruit, bread, cold cuts, and jams; and Dinner usually included a salad buffet, primo (pasta, strudel, etc.), secondo (meat, fish), and dessert, although the latter three were varied and different every day during my week at the Jägerhof; a fairly full Sunday buffet; and one evening of a fantastic cheese tasting with fruit and jams. We were also lucky with the weather during the week: drizzle one day before breakfast, but otherwise, sunshine every day. The surrounding hiking area is relatively quiet, even away from the lifts and ski area above Reinswald. Except for the trails from Reinswald to the Latzfonser Kreuz and the Totenkirchl (and Villanderer), I hardly encountered any other hikers. The trails and ridges of Lorenzen-Schrotthorn-Pfannspitz-Jakobsspitz, Muttnellspitz-Hochscheibe-Schönjöchl-Gentersbergspitze-Leiterspitz, and Pfattenspitz-Getrumspitze were particularly pleasantly secluded. I'd love to come back and hope for good weather.

23/09/2025: Small hut in a magnificent landscape. You can eat there for next to nothing and what's more it's good and well served, the people are welcoming and very friendly.

09/11/2025: The hotel is somewhat secluded, in a quiet area, about 2.5 km from Kaltern. The rustically furnished rooms are very nice. We had a room on the second floor with a view of the vineyards and Lake Kaltern. The terrace offers a lovely view of the vineyards below. We had half-board. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice. Dinner was a fixed three-course menu. On the first evening, when a large tour group was also present, the food was not satisfactory for us. The pasta as a starter was overcooked, while the ossobuco was undercooked. The other two dinners were of acceptable quality, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of taste! Service was very good in all areas. Despite all the positive impressions we gained during our three-day stay, I cannot recommend the hotel. We were unpleasantly surprised when we paid the bill. It wasn't really a proper bill, just a receipt. Instead of the usual description of the items consumed, it simply stated "various" and the corresponding price. The drinks menu we were given listed tap water at €1.10, but we were charged €2.50 for three bottles. The half-liter of house wine on tap was listed at €8.10, but we were charged €9.00 for two bottles. Only the bottled wine was charged at the price listed on the menu. Because the receipt only showed the amounts, I didn't notice this until later. It's not about the few euros; it's about the fact that I felt cheated! Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel.

26/10/2025: We're not usually complicated and can easily accommodate even simpler accommodations if little things aren't perfect. This time, however, we were a bit disappointed with the value for money. The mattresses were extremely hard and very uncomfortable – sleeping for long was almost impossible, as we had to constantly turn over to avoid back pain. The breakfast also didn't impress us: It was poorly presented, the selection was rather limited, and the quality of the food we tried was unfortunately not tasty. Furthermore, we can't understand why cheddar, of all things, is offered in such large quantities. The hot chocolate was undrinkable, the bread was mediocre, and the ham and cheese weren't fresh. So on the second day, we decided to stop at a bakery instead. We were surprised that the alcohol wasn't served with a measuring cup. We almost got three Baileys for the price of one. 😅 Unfortunately, the red wine was kept cold… The rooms themselves are fine. Unfortunately, the toilet seat was broken, and there was some mold in the corner of the wall. It's very noisy, especially in the evenings. However, the view is fantastic, and the location overall is okay. Nevertheless, we wouldn't come back.

08/07/2025: We stayed here for one night during our mountain bike alpine crossing. Modern rooms, very friendly staff/owner. We booked half board and would recommend it: 4 courses with a salad buffet, soup, half board (schnitzel and omelet were delicious!), and dessert. We paid €50 for two people, including water and a half liter of house wine. Great value for money, and it tasted good, and we were satisfied. Truly top-notch – thanks to the team and the Sonne family!!! Centrally located in St. Lorenzen, bikes can be safely stored in the ski room. We would stay here again 👍👍👍

30/08/2025: Rude lady: When we asked, "Is there room for two or are you full?" she replied, "We're not full, but not today." And she sent us away!!! Totally rude.

27/08/2025: Good food with a set menu and reservations required in a fantastic, old-fashioned, yet immaculately kept location. The lady serving is very kind, and there's no wait. The only downside is not receiving a written bill, and having been there twice, I paid the same amount, even though we ordered less food and wine the second time. .

04/10/2025: Excellent pizzas! The gluten-free ones are also really good. I'll definitely order from them again. Highly recommended.

26/09/2025: One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. The staff was very friendly, the service was good, and the place was cute.

21/07/2025: Pictures do not match the actual pizza. The pizza was mid and they didn't have beer from the tap (which was on the menu). I really don't understand the majority of the reviews here. There was one service personnel and he forgot what we had to order multiple times despite being only one of three customers. Would not go back or recommend it. The pizza next door is far superior and authentic taste and staff.

20/09/2025: One of the most beautiful refuges I've ever visited! The view is breathtaking, and the peace you breathe is truly rejuvenating. The food is delicious and meticulously prepared, as is the interior. The atmosphere is warm and spotlessly clean (including the bathrooms, which is never a given). The service is excellent; it feels like being at home among family. It's easily accessible by car, but I honestly recommend leaving your car in the lower parking lot, about 1 km away, and enjoying the easy walk to the refuge.

03/10/2025: Terrible experience, both for the pizza and the service. We spent €45 for a supposedly "gourmet pizza" that was anything but gourmet: shallow crusts, small size, and it even arrived creased. We had ordered very clearly over the phone, specifying both the name and the pizza number (as we had done in the past), but after several calls, we were told they couldn't prepare a takeout pizza with all the ingredients. So why put it on the menu? In the end, the pizza arrived incomplete. Furthermore, instead of understanding that "pizza number" meant the menu code, they thought it was the quantity. Absurd. Upon delivery, another problem: we were told we couldn't pay by card, when we had already done so in the past. The result? Having to withdraw cash at the last minute. Mediocre pizza, confusing and unprofessional service, zero transparency. Extremely high and unjustified prices. Never again.

29/07/2025: Abbiamo preso l’ovovia da San Cassiano, ci siamo diretti verso il rifugio con mia moglie e nostro figlio di 3 anni , siamo riusciti ad arrivare con il passeggino (40 min circa) , un po’ di fatica ma una volta arrivati abbiamo preso due primi , veramente molto buoni, tagliatelle al pino mugo e canederli al burro!! Poi il dolce, Prezzo nella media , lo consiglio !! Anche perché è ad una distanza accettabile , vista molto bella.

12/06/2025: Come sempre quando siamo in alta badia un pranzo al Bioch non può mancare. Bella giornata di sole, a tavola ancora meglio. Penne alla Bioch e tagliata, un calice di vino, acqua e caffè. Prezzi da rifugio Alta Badia, comunque imperdibile
