02/04/2026: They recommended it to us for the asparagus. And I have to say, we were more than satisfied. Delicious asparagus and friendly, courteous staff.

09/02/2026: We ate here on Saturday without a reservation, but it wasn't a problem. The dining room is very cozy. The menu is small but excellent, and they also offer daily specials that you won't find everywhere. For starters, we chose flatbread noodles with venison ragout, and for our main courses, we ordered veal cheeks with vegetables and rice, and dumplings with venison goulash. Everything was truly delicious. The prices are slightly higher, but the value for money is excellent, and we even received a complimentary amuse-bouche. The owner is very friendly; everything was perfect, and we highly recommend it!

05/12/2025: An absolutely fantastic place. Everything is perfect here. I probably shouldn't write such a glowing review, since I'll definitely be going back again and again, and that would be a shame. But the owners truly deserve it. Even our dachshund's favorite frisbee was still available after four days because it had been reserved. A real treat! For us and for the dog.

17/10/2025: This is what a Buschenschank (wine tavern) should be like. Delicious, down-to-earth, and rustic ambiance with a magnificent view of Merano. And above all, friendly people and fair prices! Stay here. A great break right on the Waalweg (Waal Path), which, by the way, is a lovely walk! Thank you very much!

Culinary Experience & Quality: I had a steak that was simply a culinary delight – cooked to perfection and of outstanding quality. You can immediately tell that true professionals are at work here. It hardly surprises me that celebrities like Lukas Podolski have dined here; the quality speaks for itself. Service & Atmosphere: The exceptionally friendly and competent staff deserve special mention. From the moment you arrive, you feel well taken care of and appreciated. The ambiance is sophisticated and perfectly suited to an exquisite dinner. Conclusion: If you're in the Merano/Burgstall region and looking for a truly special grill restaurant, you can't miss Hidalgo. An absolute must for gourmets!

17/01/2026: The pizza was really good, but the best part was the good bottled wine, a Blauburgunder, which was reasonably priced, unlike other places where you pay a mortgage... Fair prices, truly worth returning to. Thanks

29/11/2025: We had a cozy girls' night in. The menu was very diverse... from pizza and hamburgers to simple dishes, and even Indian food :-) By the way, the kitchen service started very early in the evening, and the price was right. The service was very friendly, and the owner himself kept checking in to make sure everything was alright. The ambiance was simple, just right for a restaurant in the sports area, but clean and well-maintained. All in all, a great evening, I can highly recommend it. It's also right on the main street. Definitely coming back!
