Gasthof Waldschenke Restaurant In Marlengo

We've already been to Waldea (formerly Waldschänke) four times this year and left delighted every time. The quality of the food is consistently excellent. We can wholeheartedly recommend the carpaccio and the dumpling duo – both were delicious and beautifully presented. But what truly makes Waldea special for us is the warm hospitality. The waiters and managers are exceptionally attentive, friendly, and always in good spirits. You feel welcome and well taken care of from the very first moment. We're already looking forward to our next visit and can recommend Waldea to anyone who appreciates good food, a beautiful atmosphere, and genuine South Tyrolean hospitality.

The location is almost unique. A stunning view over Merano and the surrounding mountains. The food was superb. Excellent South Tyrolean cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to take a break on the Marlinger Forest Trail. Of course, they also offer coffee and sweets.

A very nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. Overall, a truly lovely place to enjoy a meal – we'll definitely be back.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the terrace and were treated with exceptional friendliness and attentiveness, even though a large tour group inevitably meant a lot of extra work. The apple strudel fresh from the oven was particularly delicious. The view of Marling was also unique and definitely worth taking in. If we ever hike the Waalweg trail from Töll towards Lana again, this will certainly become our go-to spot for a relaxing break.

We stayed at the hotel for a week last year. We had stayed there in previous years and were always satisfied. The hosts were very friendly and the staff was also okay. Unfortunately, we noticed last year that the food had declined significantly. The quality of the meals left something to be desired. Furthermore, we had a problem with parking. We frequently had trouble finding a parking space. This is because there is a parking lot for the Marlinger Waalweg (irrigation channel path) in the immediate vicinity. This parking lot is hopelessly overcrowded, so hikers park in the hotel parking lot instead. Given the location (high above Marling), this is disastrous, as there are no other parking spaces nearby, and parking isn't readily available in the town below either. Otherwise, the hotel is recommendable, and the view is very beautiful.

Very friendly staff, great food, great location

What a culinary delight! We had dinner at Restaurant Waldea and it was sensational. The food was incredibly delicious; you could taste that only the highest quality ingredients were used. The beef was world-class! We tried four different dishes in total, and each one was highly recommended! The spinach dumplings on coleslaw were heavenly. The terrace offers a breathtaking view of Merano, and the service was excellent. Thank you for a truly wonderful evening! We'll be back.
