28/06/2026: From the moment we walked in, we felt that rare kind of calm that only comes when a place has been designed with genuine intention. The hotel is elegant without being showy, luxurious without being loud. Whoever designed it clearly has a deep respect for the natural surroundings, and it shows in every detail, the quality of the materials, the restrained palette, the warm yet understated Scandinavian aesthetic that lets the landscape do the talking. Our room had a beautiful scent, and even though we chose a back facing room (air conditioning was a priority for us), the view was still lush and green and wonderfully calming. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the linens soft, the lighting thoughtful, and the spacious shower had everything you could want. Breakfast was excellent. The four-course dinner was nice, quality ingredients, beautifully prepared, and served with attentive, polished service. We usually love hunting down Michelin-starred restaurants in the area, but this time we decided to simply stay put, it’s not a Michelin level, but for the price it’s very generous and relaxing. The spa is a dream. Spotlessly clean, designed in the same calm Scandinavian spirit as the rest of the hotel - elegant but still warm. I had a massage there which was nice. The surrounding nature is breathtaking. We cycled around the area and hiked to a nearby waterfall - about 90 minutes each way, not particularly hard, but the scenery is stunning and the waterfall itself is absolutely magnificent. Highly recommend making the effort. There's also a wonderful gym and charming reading nooks throughout the hotel. And because it's a boutique property, the guest count stays intimate, which means the atmosphere of genuine tranquility never breaks. The Merano area has many wonderful places to stay - but this one is outstanding.

24/06/2026: June 2026 Throughout the entire house, you can feel the connection to nature. Whether in the architecture, design, rooms, cuisine, spa area, or garden, everything is impeccably clean, well-maintained, tastefully decorated, and designed with meticulous attention to detail. This creates a wonderful ambiance and a pleasant atmosphere. The friendliness of the family and the entire team also contributes to this. The generous breakfast and the five-course dinner were outstanding. We had a wonderful stay. Nothing was lacking, so we will definitely return. Many thanks, Renate and Friedel Ohlig

11/05/2026: After our hike, we decided to take the path down from the waterfall to the restaurant instead of eating at the one directly above. And we made the right choice! We had a wonderful stay with fantastic food at more than fair prices. The cheese dumplings with homemade sauerkraut and tempting Kaiserschmarrn were incredibly delicious. The owner and his staff (and even the adorable dog) were simply delightful! We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back if we're ever in the area again! Thank you 🙏

08/11/2025: We were craving a really good piece of meat and decided on the Winklerhof in Partschins. The farm was first mentioned in the 13th century. We were recommended a 1.1 kg T-bone steak, thankfully served with fried potatoes and vegetables instead of fries. And... we can only say, wow! For dessert, we had cinnamon mousse with plums. Absolutely recommended.

20/05/2026: The hotel and restaurant are a dream, leaving nothing to be desired! From early morning swims in the indoor and outdoor pools to the fabulous breakfast buffet with a wide selection of fruit and everything your heart could desire, the superb location for hikes in all directions, the stunning sauna area, and the fantastic evening menus. The lovingly renovated, historic building complex is reminiscent of a castle, but so comfortably furnished that even the small former dungeon has been transformed into an inviting corner! The staff was very friendly and attentive, and everything was simply perfect. We would love to come back again! Thank you so much for the wonderful break!

14/05/2026: Due to a mistake on our part, a double booking occurred. We weren't aware of it. We found out at check-in and were told it would be rectified and that we didn't need to worry. Our stay at the hotel did not include dinner. We ate at the hotel on two evenings and paid for these meals upon check-out. A few days later, back home, we were in for a nasty surprise: a credit card charge for the double booking from Booking.com. This unused booking would have included dinner for both of us on three evenings. I initially tried to cancel the double booking, but unfortunately, it was no longer possible and is entirely my own fault. However, it's unacceptable that the hotel isn't refunding the dinners we paid for on-site. I'm talking about approximately €450. These dinners were included in the other package, which cost me a total of €1,339.80 and is simply a loss. Unfortunately, the hotel was not accommodating, and my last attempts to contact them went unanswered. Very disappointing!

06/07/2026: The menu is varied and offers not only pizza, but also South Tyrolean dishes and snacks. There's something for everyone. The pizzas are large and delicious. We've been coming here for many years during our holidays in South Tyrol and always enjoy coming back.

The drive up is quite an adventure for people like us, coming from the lowlands! But it's manageable. It's a fantastically situated property, impeccably maintained, and the staff are incredibly friendly! Especially great with children; the peacock feather they gave us will have a special place at home! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, the afternoon in the small garden was lovely, and there was a great selection of board games available. If I had to find something negative, it would be that the mattress was just a tad too firm. All in all, though, it deserves at least 5 stars! We will definitely book again if we're ever in the area again. If only for the amazing view! :-) 10/10 recommendation!
