19/06/2026: Because we were forced to wait for our car to be repaired and were hungry, we happened to end up there. What luck! I'm speechless, considering it's a "lunch canteen" in an industrial park! We haven't had such excellent food even in the finest restaurants in Northern Italy.

20/04/2026: I'm giving one star not for the quality of the food, which is good, nor for the location, which is splendid, but for behavior that I consider unacceptable in 2026. When I received the bill, I was informed that payment by card was not possible, only cash. There was no notice on the menu, no sign at the entrance, and no verbal communication when ordering. When I said I'd have to count the amount if I had enough cash, I was offered an instant bank transfer: this proves that the internet connection is present and that the POS's refusal was not due to technical issues, but a specific management decision. I find this behavior extremely serious for two reasons: 1. It's an inconvenience to the customer: If I hadn't had enough change with me, how would I have managed? In a remote area, it's not easy to find an ATM. It's an embarrassing situation that a customer shouldn't have to experience. 2. Lack of civic duty: As a VAT-registered taxpayer, I know what it means to pay taxes and fees. The mandatory POS law has been in place for years precisely to ensure tax equity. Seeing this situation repeat itself over time (as confirmed by other reviews) suggests a systematic attempt to circumvent the rules to the detriment of those who pay taxes every day. The law is the same for everyone, even at high altitudes. I hope the management finally decides to comply with the current regulations out of respect for customers and the community.

21/08/2026: The absolute best dinner of our holiday in South Tyrol. A few dishes, but beautifully cooked, the owner exceptionally kind and helpful, and the evening continued with incredible beers and conversation with the locals. INCREDIBLE experience.

09/08/2026: I just stumbled across this again. I was here four years ago and had one of the best experiences I've ever had in terms of hospitality. The food and drinks were simply fantastic, the owner even lent us rain jackets for the stormy drive to and overnight stay at the campsite, which we returned to him in the morning before cycling up to the Timmelsjoch Pass. He then offered us a bottle of wine for the climb, which we politely declined—and so on and so forth: truly, everything was just wonderful. Thank you! I hope I can make it back again sometime…

08/08/2026: My girlfriend and I chose to eat here one night and we both thought it was amazing. The pizza and lasagna were both great, and the tiramisu for desert was some of the best I have had. The waitress and other staff were amazing and so sweet!

02/08/2026: We had pasta which was decent but the weird thing is they charge 2 euro per person to sit in the restaurant. No one in the region asked for this to us.

22/07/2026: The pizza is absolutely delicious, thin, and has a crispy, lightly floured crust. My parents also found the other food very tasty. Unfortunately, the service is less than ideal. On our first visit, we were completely ignored and only received menus after asking for them. There are occasional minor communication issues; at least one server doesn't seem to speak German very well—not a big deal, but something to be aware of. Generally, the staff seem unmotivated and rather disinterested. It would be nice if the service staff worked on their hospitality, even though everyone was friendly.

21/06/2026: We were looking forward to a nice evening, but were unfortunately disappointed. The biggest problem was the service. We had to endure extremely long waiting times. Furthermore, the staff was anything but welcoming; their demeanor was rather unfriendly and arrogant. Ordering was made more difficult by the staff's poor language skills, which led to misunderstandings. The only positive aspect was the price-performance ratio; the food was decent for the price. However, the pizza was unfortunately very greasy.

05/10/2025: 10 types of coffee, 10 types of smoothies... healthy yet delicious croissants and cakes. Lovely staff... ONE OF A KIND in Bolzano.

01/03/2026: Well-located accommodation with a peculiar landlady – only conditionally recommended The accommodation is in a relatively quiet location in Unsere Frau am Sportzentrum (an ice skating rink in winter). In addition to the XL apartment, we had booked the S apartment for my sister. Unfortunately, our landlady wasn't very keen on guests; not only did she fail to show up for the key handover as agreed (she couldn't be reached by phone and had to be located with the help of some locals), but the apartments weren't very clean and were in a somewhat run-down condition (e.g., loose cupboard doors in the kitchen). Only the bathrooms appeared to be recently renovated. ... Despite the neighboring ice rink, we had restful, quiet evenings (the rink closes at 10:00 PM) – except for the last evening. According to the sign, the pizzeria below the apartments closes at 10:00 PM, but on that Friday, loud music played much later. When we asked our landlady (around 11:30 PM) what time we could go to sleep, she brushed us off, saying she couldn't answer that because her license only allowed her to stay open until 3:00 AM. Luckily, it was our last night there, and we certainly won't be repeating it. (3 stars for location, layout, view, and quiet from Saturday to Thursday.)

01/03/2026: The accommodation is in a beautiful location, and the apartments (S and XL) are well laid out, but they are very noisy. We liked the pizzeria. Unfortunately, the apartments were not clean. The landlady was nice, but unfortunately unreliable. Despite prior arrangements, we had to wait more than two hours upon arrival and were only able to get in touch with her through staff at the valley station. Those seeking peace and quiet might have problems with the noise level in the evenings and at night. Contrary to the stated opening hours, the pizzeria is sometimes open until after midnight, and there are loud parties going on.

26/05/2026: I've been going to South Tyrol for decades now. Sometimes we stay for a few days, sometimes it's just a spontaneous one-night visit during one of our motorcycle or convertible tours. What I incredibly appreciate about the region, and what I've always experienced, is the warm hospitality. You arrive and hear a genuine, "Hello, did you have a good journey? Welcome!" You immediately feel at ease. Unfortunately, it was completely different at the Hotel Alpenland. The reception was extremely cold: a brief "Hello," the room key, and that was it. When I asked about the restaurant's opening hours, I received the curt reply: "It's all written here" (pointing at an information sign), "and in the room too." Spoiler alert: There was absolutely no information in the room. Unfortunately, things continued in a similar vein. Upon arriving in the room, we discovered that it wasn't the type of room we had booked at all. "Mistakes happen," I thought, and went back to reception. The lady's reply, however, came in an absolutely accusatory tone: "The room isn't available if you're only booking one night." The odd thing is, we'd only booked two days before arrival, and according to the website, the room was available for just one night. We were then given a different room in the same price category, which we didn't like at all. While the short-stay surcharge was waived the next day, it would have been professional to have informed us about this and offered the waiver directly at check-in. That would have made a completely different impression. I initially wanted to complain to the owners that evening, but then the staff informed me that the lady at reception was the owner herself. So, unfortunately, that was pointless. To be fair, the room was absolutely spotless, and the spa area with sauna and steam room was fantastic. The culinary aspect, however, was a disappointment. Dinner was okay, but it bore absolutely no resemblance to the promising pictures and descriptions on the website. The main course selection was also extremely meager, with only two dishes to choose from – we're used to much better in South Tyrol. We had a significantly better experience last year at another hotel on the same street. Unfortunately, breakfast the next morning was the low point: the chocolate croissants were bone dry, and the overall selection was extremely limited. We barely ate anything and left immediately. A little more South Tyrolean hospitality would do the hotel a world of good.

14/03/2026: Excellent hotel, super friendly atmosphere and staff, and breakfast and dinner were very good. For relaxation, there's a wellness area with a pool, sauna, and small gym. We highly recommend this hotel and would gladly return.

03/08/2026: We stopped by for a quick refreshment and a caffeine boost, so I can't comment on the food. The espresso was excellent, and the drinks were perfectly refreshing. The service was friendly and quick, and the view was stunning. There are also beautifully flowering dipladenias in the outdoor area.

09/08/2026: I go there for my son's soccer tournament. I ask for food and they tell me that because of the tournament, the kitchen closes at 1:00 AM. I ask if they can at least make me a sandwich and they tell me they don't have anything. I go down to town to look for something to eat, and when I come back they're selling sandwiches. I ask why they didn't give me any and they give me a rude answer. Never again.
