20/02/2026: Villa Heidelberg We had booked in advance and indicated that we would be bringing our dog. Upon arrival, the greeting was noticeably reserved, and a somewhat tense atmosphere immediately developed. Although dogs were generally accepted, we didn't really feel welcome. The service overall seemed rather cold and unwelcoming. Regular guests are apparently greeted personally by name, which is generally a good thing. As a new guest, however, we felt we were served correctly – but without any particular attention or noticeable friendliness. The food was standard and solid – tasted fine, but nothing special. Overall, not a complete disaster, but also not a place where you truly feel welcome. Therefore, from our perspective, a maximum of 2 out of 5 stars.

05/11/2025: We had lunch here as a couple on a weekday. While the food was well-prepared and well-prepared, it's a shame the service didn't meet expectations. We had a long wait, about 45 minutes for appetizers and 20 minutes for the water we'd ordered. The waitresses were a bit distracted by the workers having lunch there, who were given absolute priority over customers/tourists. I wouldn't return for lunch for this reason. They apologized for their patience, but for a hiker, the wait is definitely too long, even for just a bottle of water.

Seafood cuisine with well-crafted traditional seafood dishes, excellent ingredients, and excellent flavors. Generous portions and excellent value for money. Recommended.

23/06/2026: After a strenuous climb from Auer in 35-degree heat, we arrived here and were immediately given a very warm welcome. A cold beer was essential. The bruschetta was freshly prepared – probably by the owner – and tasted delicious. We were even served ice cubes with our wine. All this for a very reasonable price. 14/07/2026: We ate there twice during our holiday. The food was delicious, the terrace was great, and the waiters were incredibly friendly and attentive.

06/05/2026: Top hospitality, professional guest service and comfortable. The hotel is quiet and well located to the old town (depending on the bus, just 2 bus stops or 20 mins walking).

03/05/2026: The hotel is very clean and well-maintained, as are the rooms! The location is a little outside of Bolzano, but it's very well-served by public transportation!

02/04/2026: We were just passing through and chose Bucherkeller for dinner based on reviews! It was absolutely the right decision! The turkey schnitzel tasted exactly as a schnitzel should, in my opinion—very tender. The fries were crispy, and every piece of meat on the grill was cooked to perfection, well-seasoned, and incredibly tender! The bacon dumpling soup was delicious, and the tiramisu and chocolate mousse were excellent! We highly recommend it! The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic!

Also great for families with children 🙂

07/03/2026: During the Winter Olympics, we spent a truly wonderful week at the Hotel Messnerwirt. The hotel is superbly located and boasts excellent room amenities. The rooms are comfortable, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean – you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. We booked half-board and were very satisfied with both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast offers a good selection with everything you could wish for. It's especially convenient that egg dishes can be ordered fresh and hot. The service is very attentive and friendly. Dinner, included in the half-board package, was also excellent. The menu selection is varied and of very high quality – a real treat after an active day. The hotel also has a small but lovely spa area, perfect for relaxation. While it's only open until 8 p.m., it's very well-maintained and pleasant. Another plus is the hotel's own parking, which is free and included in the booking. The hotel's parking spaces are free of charge and included in the price. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a small but excellent hotel with superb service, outstanding cleanliness, and very good food. We would gladly return!
