27/07/2024: After really years I finally managed to go there. Ate excellent octopus salad (I think the best in years), very fresh.... and as a second course a fried fish, which I think must have been 10 years since not even at the seaside was so good. The manager was very kind, friendly and nice....the waiter who served us a little less.....I will still gladly return. Review Update 07.24.2024: I was there last night, after 2 years, and I very willingly and with great pleasure confirm that everything has remained the same, except the prices, which are truly excellent compared to restaurants of equivalent level in Bolzano, honest, just right, for what they offer. Unfortunately the restaurant always escapes my mind... for this reason I returned only after 2 years...

23/07/2024: Rude, apparently not welcome as a tourist. We wanted a lunch table and despite there being free places, we were sent away again. Locals came after us and were immediately seated. Totally arrogant. And it's really a shame.

11/08/2024: Posto bellissimo. Si respira la tradizione ladina. Cibo a km 0 di grande qualità. Servizio perfetto. La titolare molto disponibile anche per fare due chiacchiere prima del conto. La vista fuori è incredibile.

05/08/2024: Posto meraviglioso, curato e accogliente. Appartamento pulito, servizio per la consegna del pane o colazione, impeccabile. Il ristorante da sogno, cura nei dettagli e sapori fantastici. Imperdibile!

24/08/2024: We were dead tired from a hike. I asked to take away 2 bottles of water (from the conad next door which was already closed at 6.30pm) and a coke in a glass bottle. Cost €7!!! A theft! And he even gave me the coke unopened! I had to ask to open it!

23/07/2024: Food was super good. Service was very friendly and funny. A quaint and traditional inn that looks very inconspicuous from the outside.

28/08/2024: Posto informale dove ho mangiato bene Cucina senza troppe pretese ma saporita. Servizio veloce e cortese e location carina. Il posto è raggiungibile anche in macchina sebbene la stradina sia stretta e vi siano pochi parcheggi.

25/07/2024: Ristorante con un panorama meraviglioso gestito da una famiglia simpaticissima. Noi abbiamo mangiato 2 grigliate miste con verdure ed un carpa ciò. Per finire panna cotta e strudel. Tutto ottimo. Fine cena inizia la musica e tutti a ballare.

22/07/2024: We went to this restaurant on the first day of our stay in Selva on the advice of the owner of the hotel where we were staying, the place is very nice, the table is nice, well-kept, minimal. I disagree about charging €2.50 cover charge for the nice placemat for goodness sake but they seem excessive to me but it's my point of view. As for the food, nothing to say, all very good. Apple pancakes with vanilla sauce top. The price is perhaps a little high for the portion they bring you but you pay for the quality.

12/07/2024: PRICES FROM A STARRED RESTAURANT AND A BAD EXPERIENCE I respond to your reply point by point: 1) I have been going to starred restaurants for years. 2) I complained about the (cold) welcome and not about not having had priority (but then what does the fact that you thought I was part of another group have to do with it?) 3) We kindly asked the menu next to us (who didn't even look up, how polite!!) who had finished ordering and placed it on the bench. 4) I know the area because I have been frequenting it for many years and I have never felt so uncomfortable as in your restaurant 5) The comment from the neighbors at the table is out of place, just as the fact that you reported it in this review is very serious 6) You and the couple who were at our side will be frustrated 7) Grammatical tip: write “has commented”, with the h. Having entered the restaurant around 12, I ask to book a table for 12.30 to have time to change at the hotel. The waiter looks at me as if he had seen a stray dog ​​come in and with poorly concealed annoyance takes my reservation. Evidently if you are not from the area but come from central Italy you are not good. I return with my partner around 12.30, we sit down and ask to order. The waiter (always the same and with a funeral face) takes the order with the same enthusiasm with which one goes for a colonoscopy. The dishes arrive but they are wrong. We had ordered 2 and he managed to get one wrong (it wasn't easy but he managed it). In practice we had ordered gnocchi on cheese fondue and we received 2 (two in number) gnocchi at a cost of €17 each. €8.5 per dumpling!!! Delicious for goodness' sake but we ask to have the menu to order something else (we were starting to feel hungry) but yet another look of annoyance from the waiter made us lean towards the bill. Result: €48 for 2 (two) gnocchi (exactly 2 each), a half mineral glass and a draft beer. When we got home we made ourselves a nice sandwich with speck and cheese. To never again.

23/12/2023: Außer unseren Hauptspeisen (siehe Fotos) hatten wir noch 1 gr. Helles, 1 gr. Weißbier, 1 Flasche Wasser, 1 Glas Weißwein (Rose gab es leider nicht) und 1 Marillen Schnaps. Alles sehr lecker und eine sehr nette Bedienung. Trotzdem war ich enttäuscht, weil ich extra dorthin gegangen bin um Tirteln zu essen - die gibt es aber nur im Sommer.

05/12/2023: Esperienza da ripetere sicuramente: cibo buonissimo e con porzioni importanti! Maso con sale in pietra, da cartolina. Staff preparato e molto cordiale. Ampia scelta di birre anche artigianali. Continuate così!

15/08/2024: Great inn to eat out. Great location in the middle of the Sarntal. Only the rooms could be modernized.

14/08/2024: 11-day stay in the last ten days of July 2024 with half board (2 people). New or recently renovated restaurant room, sauna and small indoor swimming pool, beautiful and welcoming. Room and bathroom with very, very old furniture, fixtures and fixtures, no bidet, daily cleaning too fast to be effective. Bathroom linen (has seen better times) changed after 4 days only upon explicit request. Banal, monotonous cuisine, with potatoes reigning supreme and far from the typical dishes and flavors of the mountains. Excessive markups on mineral water and wines. Some of the service staff are friendly and helpful but the remainder have difficulties with the Italian language that effectively prevent even the simplest of dialogues. In short, overall I think it's not worth the amount we paid (85 euros/day per person) and I don't feel like recommending it.

24/08/2024: We tried various pizzas but the Margherita is the only one that isn't that great. Everything else ok, the outside balcony is better

30/06/2024: Terrible service. Never again. Owners one more surly than the other, so much so that you feel uncomfortable even ordering a simple bottle of water! Average food and pizza, but very expensive. In conclusion I will never go back again and I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

17/07/2024: Very nice place, secluded and welcoming. The staff are fantastic and kind. The food offering is wide, including pizza, and at a good price; only advice is that the quality of the dishes could improve slightly.

02/07/2024: Chez Frederich è un ristorante fantastico. Ho mangiato del pesce straordinario, fresco e cucinato in modo impeccabile. Le cozze erano fresche e saporite. La frittura abbondante e asciutta. L'atmosfera è calda e accogliente e il servizio è stato molto attento. Se amate il pesce, questo è il posto giusto per voi. Il conto è un po’ salato, ma ne vale la pena. Lo consiglio vivamente!

22/07/2024: in questa malga a oltre 2.000 metri di altezza si sta veramente bene, è a pochi passi dalla stazione a monte del Resciesa e offre uno spettacolo davvero importante, si è proprio di fronte al Sassolungo, mentre a sinistra si vede il Seceda con il gruppo Puez Odle, mentre a destra c'è il gruppo del Catinaccio con Alpe di Siusi e Sciliar. Il servizio è stato puntuale e preciso. Il piatto ordinato è stato molto gustoso.

21/07/2024: Ci siamo fermati in questa malga dopo una camminata, alle 10 circa, e abbiamo preso soltanto un caffè. La definirei un pò rustica, specie rispetto alle altre malghe della zona. La proposta per pranzo sembrava buona. Il servizio era curato da un signore in abiti tradizionali che con noi è stato gentile. Unica nota negativa la presenza di un cane chiuso in un ripostiglio (ma questo si può capire per evitare che scappi). Aveva da mangiare la polenta avanzata che ai cani non fa bene e provoca gonfiore e coliche. Si presentava docile ma al minimo rumore proveniente dalla stanza vicina si dimostrava guardingo e timoroso. Secondo me quel cane ha paura del suo padrone. Lascio a chi legge le debite conclusioni, a me ha fatto tanto tanto dispiacere e vorrei tanto che i gestori di malga Cason rispondessero. (pura illusione)
