27/09/2025: We stumbled upon this place yesterday and it was a pleasant surprise. The dumplings in broth were delicious, and the goulash was excellent. We returned today, and the pork shank with sauerkraut was excellent and very filling.

18/03/2026: We went ski touring and stayed at the Sesvenna Hut. It was wonderful! The hut has been newly renovated and offers every luxury, right down to a beautifully equipped reading corner. The new management team was very welcoming and conjured up delicious South Tyrolean specialties. We'd love to come back again…🤗

15/03/2026: An AVS mountain hut that's only open on weekends – unacceptable! The response is unhelpful. On Sunday, March 8, 2026, I tried calling (without a response). There's NO information about opening hours on the website. I also inquired online via your website whether you're open on Monday (our planned tour day). The reply, sent by email on Monday (!), stated: we're only open on weekends. So, what's the truth?

29/09/2025: My girlfriend and I unfortunately only stayed one night in your cozy Ortlerblick suite on our return trip from Milan. We were overwhelmed by the beautiful 180-degree view of the Alps from our balcony and our accommodation. Our suite was very modern and absolutely clean. The Illmer family owns a very well-maintained, comfortable, and tastefully furnished property, which they make available to their guests along with friendly and courteous staff. Not only the very friendly hotelier, but also the service team took great care of our well-being. The 5-course dinner menu was exceptionally varied, a feast for the eyes, and very digestible. For a vegetarian like me, there was a huge selection of delicacies. The service came to our table regularly and discreetly to provide us with the best culinary delights. The selection of drinks, both at dinner and breakfast, left nothing to be desired. The breakfast offerings were very extensive. There were a variety of fresh juices, fruit, rolls, bread, cheeses, etc. We are very sorry we only booked for one night. Next time, we will definitely stay longer to have more time for the luxurious wellness area. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her massage in the afternoon. The masseuse was very competent and pleasantly warm. We wish the Illmer family all the best and thank you for the enchanting stay. Mrs. Wessel & Mrs. Wolf

05/01/2026: Lunch for two, despite the large crowd, the table was ready quickly and the wait time was normal. Good, traditional Tyrolean food. Fantastic desserts. The waitress was extremely kind and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Recommended.

04/01/2026: The place is beautiful, the pizzas are good, the restaurant is also good and the waiters in the dining room are very friendly.

26/11/2025: We've been here twice in a row, including for Törgellen (a traditional South Tyrolean autumn feast). No reservation was needed, which we really appreciated! The food and drinks were of excellent quality – highly recommended!

30/10/2025: A truly delightful evening at Ruster in Merano! The restaurant is welcoming, well-maintained, and has a typically South Tyrolean atmosphere, warm and genuine. The quality of the dishes was a surprise: we started with a very fresh, delicate, and flavorful beef tartare, crafted with great attention to the finest ingredients. This was followed by a plate of traditional dumplings, soft and delicious—authentic comfort food, prepared as it should be. But beyond the food, what makes the experience special is the service. A special thanks to Jeck, the head waiter: friendly, helpful, and with a lighthearted approach that immediately puts you at ease. He served us with professionalism and an infectious smile, making the dinner not only delicious... but also fun! A place to return to, both for the quality of the food and the pleasant atmosphere and impeccable service. Congratulations to all the staff!

20/11/2025: One of our best stay, the hotel is very clean and near to many must attractions in Dolomites like lago de Breis . The owner Mariana and the receptionist were super kind and guided us perfectly. The restaurant around was great with great value as well. A supermarket just 30 m away from the hotel with local fruits and cheese. We also enjoyed a night with local band near from our stay. I really highly recommend.

23/10/2025: A simple bakery with two options for queuing, which is a bit confusing... left or right? ☕🤔 On the left, you choose cakes 🍰 and pastries, and on the right, you get coffee, drinks, and pay. There's an option to sit outside (self-service). Restrooms available 😁

18/02/2026: The hotel truly resembles a castle: large common areas and underground passages. It could use a major general modernization and greater attention to detail. The rooms are a bit small, only partially modernized. The breakfast is standard, as is found everywhere: it could use more local touches that reflect the area. The staff is friendly, especially at reception. Being able to ski directly from the hotel is fantastic.

18/12/2025: A stunning location: The mountain hut is nestled in the heart of the Dolomites, just a stone's throw from the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo peaks, at an altitude of approximately 2,200 meters above sea level. The views from the windows, terrace, and surrounding trails are pure gold and the perfect backdrop for Instagram photos. An ideal base for active people: The region offers a multitude of hiking trails of varying difficulty, from easy strolls to challenging trails (the Dolomites are high mountains, so a good level of fitness is essential!). Here, you can hike, backpack, and even birdwatch.

06/11/2025: Nice cabin, lots of people, prices are simply higher, but in the total heat you would give anything for a little water or juice. Part of the classic circuit, so you can stop here or move on.

18/03/2026: I hope it was just a bad day... I chose the restaurant based on the menu options I'd read on the website, but once I sat down, I was told three times that the dish wasn't available. In the end, disheartened, I had to settle for the usual Milanese cutlet. There was something "good" there, but it wasn't on the menu. The website is inviting, but it's a shame it's only in the photos, but I can say I'm still craving it.

12/03/2026: I ordered a tagliata, but I received a grilled steak, sliced, and then placed each piece back on the grill, cooking on both sides! Please change the name of the dish on the menu or explain to the chef that cooking the meat only once preserves the quality of the product, not to mention saving energy! I gave it two stars for the generous portion and the good beer.
