01/08/2025: The swimming pool is truly beautiful and in a great location. Super clean, and hardly anyone has been there in the last three weeks... Two negative points that have nothing to do with the pool's atmosphere. - Food (pizza is all well and good, but with the number of school/holiday groups, etc., they could come up with something special for the kids, like fries, etc.) - Lifeguard (often bored on their phones)

08/08/2025: While looking for a cool ice cream, we stumbled upon this bar, run by a young couple. We thoroughly enjoyed the selection of frozen yogurt and soft serve ice cream :-) and found it to be excellent. The service was friendly and competent, and our dog was even given treats and water. That's another reason why we gave it full marks! The bar is somewhat tucked away, and the seating is comfortable and quiet, allowing you to enjoy the ice cream and coffee in peace. We'll definitely be back!

08/03/2026: Very friendly staff, excellent food. The only thing that needs improvement is the Amatriciana!!! I'll be back to check on the progress.

25/01/2026: We just checked out of our wonderful room here at the Royal after a wonderful week of skiing. We weren't expecting much from reading the various reviews, but we wanted to give it a try anyway given the fabulous location, and we did just fine. Anita at the front desk is very helpful and cheerful and greeted us immediately. A member of staff showed us around to see where the spa, ski room, restaurant, and more were located. Our room was truly huge, with a view of the Boè, clean, warm, and perhaps a little dark, but perfect for us, as we have two children. The dining room was spacious, intimate, and clean. The food was excellent, with many traditional dishes and great flexibility, even with requests for dishes other than the menu, such as desserts and some children's dishes, or special requests based on personal tastes. The "post-dinner" room is perhaps renovated compared to the rest of the hotel, and it's really nice to play cards after a day of skiing with grappa, hot tea, etc. A few small suggestions, if they're welcome: the pool temperature is a bit chilly (they explained it was due to the proliferation of bacteria, etc.), but I think it could be warmed up a few degrees. The games room would have been nice, but there were no rackets and balls for ping pong. Perhaps some other toys would be useful for the kids. The ski room could use a few lockers and perhaps an extra bench. The evening buffet would be nice to expand with local cheeses and cold cuts, as well as the various types of bread. The breakfast room is perhaps a bit small, and the buffet is a bit limited, although you can ask the waiters for eggs, bacon, etc. The table service was a bit confusing, but this is due to the inexperience of the new staff. The location is excellent, very close to the slopes. We'll definitely be back next year because it's truly excellent value for money. Thank you so much, Royal, until next year.

31/12/2025: We stumbled upon it by chance, but we were pleasantly surprised. Just a few meters from the main road in Cortaccia, yet in a quiet location, there's a truly special place. You wouldn't expect it from the outside, but inside it's very charming and well-kept. The owner makes excellent pizza, thin and crispy, and is happy to chat with customers. The other dishes are also unique and more refined; you might pay a few euros more, but it's worth it. Highly recommended! We'll be back soon.

19/01/2026: I was with a group from Poland for New Year's Eve. We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious, the rooms were modest but comfortable, some had balconies. The views were of the mountains, which were illuminated by the rising sun in the morning. The service was great. I recommend it.

03/01/2026: New Year's Eve spent at the Elefant Hotel was fantastic. Friendly service and amazing food, at least for New Year's Eve. Totally amazing. The town is quiet but well-organized. They issue free transportation passes for everywhere on buses, coaches, and trains. I recommend this place.

10/10/2025: FOUND HAIR in the ice cream and the owner just said "It's normal here" and did nothing about it or even said sorry. The taste is only so-so. NOT RECOMMENDED

25/02/2026: It had a bit of a snack bar feel. But the people were very nice and the food was really delicious! The doner meat was tender and juicy, and the pizza was tasty too! We were completely satisfied!

13/12/2025: Be cautious if you have allergens!! Great looking building, had lunch outside with 10 friends. Service was very slow, and they were not overly busy. 2 mains arrived then a wait of 15-20 minutes for the other 8 meals, by which time the first 2 where finished. Scarily my pizza without cheese arrived with cheese, and I was told it was not cheese but the mushrooms! Staggering! I returned it and 5 minutes later the correct pizza arrived. Be very cautious if you have allergens!! Won't be returning.

31/08/2025: Driven by curiosity for a very frank response to a negative review, I chose to eat at this restaurant, and the result was excellent. The food was good, plentiful, with attention to the plating, excellent table service, a magnificent view from the large windows, and prices absolutely in line with other restaurants in the valley. 10 out of 10

29/12/2025: We were just having coffee at the restaurant. Our first impression was very positive. We considered coming back for dinner the following evening. However, after the poor service and treatment we received (from an older lady), and the fact that the next guests were already being shown to their table before we had even finished our coffee, we decided never to go back to this establishment.

28/12/2025: We can only judge the restaurant and the overall experience. The reception was a disaster, unworthy of a professionally run restaurant. We were "shuffled" into a musty room on the first floor. Then it turned out that they only served pizza in the evenings and no other options, even though the menu at the entrance promised otherwise. It took an hour before we finally got our pizzas. As an aside, the pizzas were rather average in terms of taste. We are very disappointed and will definitely not be returning.

27/08/2025: The hotel is in a wonderful location; the rooms are welcoming and the staff is always helpful. I stayed with my family and really appreciated the attention paid to our little ones. The cuisine is refined and excellent. The rooms are meticulously clean.

22/07/2025: We stopped because my daughter needed to use the bathroom (which costs €1). We had two coffees, and the bill was 2 x €1.70 + €1. What are you arguing about? Forget it, since the waitress was already rude when you left, and you won't be back... Obviously, I never saw the receipt.

23/12/2025: Family-run hotel on the slopes. Step out of the ski room and put on your skis, no need to walk to the lifts. The owner, Mrs. Patrizia, is always kind and available to accommodate guests' needs. Second holiday here this year, and we'll be back again!

28/12/2025: We are writing to share feedback regarding our recent, and regrettably, final stay. While this was our third visit, the hotel’s atmosphere has shifted from a family resort to a tourist compound as it expands. We observed a significant decline in service, indicating a lack of expected 5-star staff training. Our food orders were consistently incorrect late or completely missing for five days, and front desk operators frequently forgot requests, struggled with simple requirements, and lacked empathy and professional courtesy. Additionally, the food quality dropped significantly. The pasta was consistently overcooked, flavors were flat, and the lunch buffet appeared to be composed of leftovers. It seems the hotel is currently struggling to balance the increased quantity of guests with the quality of the experience.

22/12/2025: It is our fifth stay at Feuerstein and I surely have a thorough understanding of both the resort and the region. Food is great; staff, for many I know by face by now, are very nice; facilities are good for kids; and the best massages I have ever had in Europe. The fact I have returned for four times shows how much I liked it. Having all these being said, my stay of last week fell apart. The overall issue is simple: the resort is expanding fast but many seasonal staff were not well trained. I have food orders missing in the air, confused dinner service and the worst of the worst, was the check out. The day before our departure, I saw my neighbour chalet parents moving with multiple bags and three young kids. It was quite chaotic so I was giving a hand. I asked why they did not call for the service. The response was: "we did but they never came; and now our shuttle bus to the airport is leaving...." Ok, so we decided to move the luggages ourselves to make sure everything is on time at departure. I checked out at 10:30am at the reception. Between 10:30 and 12:30, I was locked out of the chalet twice as the key card did not work. The staff came to deliver new card each time very quickly but did not mention much why I was locked out. The most frustrating part was when we are all packed with luggages and two kids walking towards the garage, our key card could not open the garage door. For those who have never been here, this is a HUGE resort. My husband had to go all around the ground floor to enter the garage and open the door for us from the other side, while I was waiting with the kids and luggages. I wrote an email to complain. The response i received was no more than saying: it is our rules and it is not our fault. The overlooked fact is these rules are NEW (because we were invited for lunch of the departure day many times before and now it cost 100 Euro covering lunch and facilities but not the room). I am not objecting the new rules or the cost involved; but please explain them better as they are very confusing even for the returning customers! For ski classes for children, Feuerstein does not book for the guests. Although the transfer and coordination between the resort and ski has been smooth, it is still a bit stressful to arrange the ski lessons by yourself, while other similar resorts in the region will do that for the guests. Also, compared with other family resorts, the activities offered to adults are very limited here. There are gym lessons everyday but very few outdoor activities to explore the region.

08/12/2025: We stopped at this restaurant for dinner, a group of four. Upon entry, we were greeted by the waiter who seated us in a deserted, unheated room. Despite repeated requests to move to the heated room, we were ignored until a seat finally became available in the main room and we annoyedly asked to be moved. The service was very sketchy; the waitress (who I assume was the owner) left cutlery and napkins in the center of the table without handing them out or setting the table. The pizzas weren't among the best I've had, being of a medium-low standard. The fries were almost raw on the pizza, and the vegetable pizza wasn't what we'd asked for. When we asked for parmesan, they brought us the grated kind you put on pasta. And finally, the surprise was the bill!!! The prices didn't match those on the menu, but were all higher; for example, the capricciosa went from 10 to 13 euros. We won't be returning.
