04/02/2026: Excellent while the chef was on site; he's a warm and affable personality. He piqued your curiosity with his stories and recommended dishes, even adapting the menu to the special needs of some of our table. As soon as he had to leave, however, the noise from the kitchen began to be annoying, and the staff even forgot our table's orders halfway through the meal, leaving you twiddling your thumbs for a bit and then asking if we wanted coffee 😂 Anyway, the food was very good; the cuisine is traditional with a twist, high-quality, and with bold flavors. The only flaw: the desserts; the cheesecake was more like a panna cotta, and the others were also not bad, but unworthy of a dinner out.

11/01/2026: Diego is the chef and he smashes this out the park. What a character . What a chef. Excpetional detail. Real care. Food is life in this restaurent. Seasonal and all local produce. Bedded inside a castle the picturesque location is as stunning as the food. Well worth ever calories gained.

19/02/2026: This place makes all the difference in Perugia. Despite eating at several places, I've never had ravioli better than theirs! Highly recommended. If we really have to find fault, it's that the place is very small and can easily get confusing.

22/02/2026: Restaurant Review I've been frequenting Locanda dei Golosi for several years, and for this very reason, I'm sorry to have to write this review. Unfortunately, I've noticed a decline in quality over time, but today's experience was particularly disappointing. There were six of us. After the appetizer, we waited a long time for the first courses to arrive, a decidedly excessive wait that already began to ruin our meal. When the dishes finally arrived, the situation worsened: the tortellini with ragù my nephew and I ordered were hard and overcooked, practically inedible. The cappelletti with ragù my father ordered were completely stuck together. We immediately reported the problem to the waitress, who was kind and reported it to the kitchen. However, no one bothered to come to the table to apologize or offer an alternative, even though it was clear my nephew and I hadn't eaten anything. My nephew and I only ate the sauce with some bread, because at least that was good. My father, hungry, tried to eat his dish regardless. The excuse he received that the chef was under pressure is frankly unacceptable. The restaurant was full with a large group that, I believe, had a fixed menu, that's true, but since they were reservations, it was a predictable and manageable situation. Pressure in the kitchen shouldn't affect the quality of the dishes, much less the customer service. The rest of the food was average, but what really left a bitter taste was the way the situation was handled: no suggestions for a solution, no gesture of attention to two customers who, in effect, couldn't eat their food. I write this review with sincere disappointment. I truly hope they return to the standards of the past.

03/01/2026: How was the food? So bad that we went back two days in a row (the second day specifically). We were served excellently, with professionalism, courtesy, and that touch of friendliness that never hurts, in a lovely place, with a gorgeous dining room... so much so that my 4-year-old son Leo wanted to come back. The quality of the food... I hope calling it excellent isn't an understatement... the platter, mentioned by someone who can't remember the name, considered insufficient, was of excellent quality with genuine, traditional products at a fair price... not to mention the rest: pasta alla Norcina, eggplant parmigiana, gnocchi with wild boar, grandma's egg, and the tagliatelle with both ragù and mushrooms, which my son devoured. Not to mention the desserts... so if you have the courage not to call this a super excellent restaurant... I would recommend... McD.

02/01/2026: The typical dishes are all delicious, with just the right portions (not too much, not too little), and the atmosphere is rustic, romantic, and even intimate/cozy, and I'd say comfortable. Quick and friendly service, family-run, with not a single detail out of place, and attention to customer service, empathy, and a willingness to engage in conversation. The price is more than fair—in fact, I'd say convenient. I'm attaching the receipt so it's clear that this isn't just my perception, but the reality of the facts. The platter I've pictured was full of typical, strictly local products, carefully arranged, beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. We'll definitely be back, and I recommend booking because there are only a few seats (about 40, I'd say). Note for those with pets: I've noticed that dogs are welcome. Be careful, don't be put off by the negative reviews; they're all from years ago and certainly refer to previous management, given that the current one has been open for less than two years.

24/02/2026: For a traveler, it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in a place from the past that tells its story and traditions. It's precisely on this point that I feel compelled to emphasize to the owners that their food, while good, betrays our Umbrian tradition. My tagliatelle with artichokes and pancetta were practically unseasoned, contrary to our tradition of abundance. A welcoming host offers plates overflowing with pasta and, above all, with toppings that often equal the quantity of pasta. This applies to a first course, a second course, a dessert, and even a simple sandwich. Our grandparents welcomed you with what they had, but they gave it all away. In short, good, but stingy, and unfortunately, the price isn't the only thing that's salty.

15/02/2026: We ate very well, from the appetizer to the main course. The waiters were kind. There was a small mistake in the rest of the dish, but we considered it a small tip. If I came back here, I would gladly stop again.

21/01/2026: Terrible pizza, the dough was obviously ready-made, it almost seemed like a frozen pizza, unleavened dough, like bread, sour tomato sauce, full of salt and oregano, I don't know what happened, probably whoever is in the kitchen doesn't want to anymore, not that the pizza has ever been excellent there, but now it's truly rubbish.

02/11/2025: It is very difficult to make a reservation if you are a foreigner. But I love the food there and every time I'm in Perugia I go for dinner. From the appetisers I loved the pate, from the second courses the rabbit was delicious. The red house wine was good.

27/10/2025: A delightful discovery in a corner of old Perugia, right behind the Morlacchi Theater. A place with meticulous attention to detail, a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere—not your average osteria, but a little gem. We ate for two; the staff was kind, courteous, and attentive. The menu was extensive, with generous portions and well-prepared dishes. The only flaw was perhaps too much oil in some dishes. All in all, a good restaurant where I think I'll return soon. Fairly priced.

16/03/2026: Over the years, I have had very mixed experiences in this restaurant. Overall, the food is pretty nice, though the wait is always very long. Dont go there if you are in a hurry. Also staff could be a little nicer/ sympathetic when refusing customers without bookings. Maybe they feel they don’t have to make an effort because they are mentioned in every guidebook and their address is very central? In any case, there are better restaurants in Assisi and you may get a better welcome elsewhere so do keep that in mind.

14/03/2026: We came to this restaurant not through reviews, but through the recommendation of a host who raved so much about it that we couldn't help but book. So, I booked the 7:30 PM table about 15 days in advance. We arrived right on time and full of high expectations. They seated us, brought us drinks, and after a few minutes we ordered. The first course was torta al testo with vegetables. The first course was served cold, the second courses were unseasoned and tasteless. The second course was suckling pig with potatoes and stuffed guinea fowl, and again, it didn't live up to expectations. The suckling pig was dry and hard to chew, the potatoes were microwaved and extremely salty. The guinea fowl, however, arrived "messy," meaning that so many spices, herbs, and various sauces had been added to the dish that they completely covered the flavor of the guinea fowl. Estimated dinner time: about 30 minutes. They served us so quickly that not even fast food restaurants can keep up with that pace, and obviously this rush to get us all fed and then quickly send us away reached its peak when, when I asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, my husband replied that I would get one, but, I should add, not right away, in a little while (just enough time to finish the wine). Less than a minute later, the waitress arrived with the coffee. I told her I wanted to wait, and she irritably told me she'd bring it to me in a minute, as I'd said. Now, I understand quite well that these mechanisms are designed to get us to leave the table quickly, but they weren't necessary because the staff's lack of courtesy, empathy, and touchiness would have made us leave the table regardless of the coffee. I should add that no one said goodbye or thanked us as we left. They did, however, charge us the €60 for three courses. That said, I strongly advise against this place. The quality isn't worth the price. Move on.

12/01/2026: We waited 35 minutes for the appetizer and 25-30 for the main course, but it was worth it: the food was delicious, the wine excellent, and the atmosphere welcoming. Recommended!

09/01/2026: The place is welcoming, clean, and well-organized. The waiters are very knowledgeable and friendly. We paid a fair price for the excellent quality of the food. I'd happily return.
