La Taverna di Julio In Castiglione del lago

I dined there for the first time, and it lived up to our expectations. It was recommended to me by a neighbor I'd met by chance at another restaurant years ago. Julio is famous for his meat, and I can attest to that. I had an off-menu asado (recommended by the talented waitress) and an entrecôte: both were excellent. If you love grilled meat, this is a place you absolutely must try: you'll definitely be back!

A truly excellent experience! We came as a family for dinner on May 31st and had a wonderful time. My husband had the pici all'aglione and they were excellent—he said they were among the best he's ever eaten. I opted for a tagliata, cooked to perfection, and my daughters had the pizza, which also got top marks. The service was prompt and the staff was friendly and helpful. You could sense the care and passion put into every dish. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

The tavern is located near the lake, and we chose it for a short motorcycle ride in the area. Everything was perfect, from the welcome, to the delicious dishes, to the soundtrack (70s and 80s rock), which made our motorcycle ride perfect. The prices are in line with the quality of the food. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

Everything was excellent, but the Fiorentina was truly superior. Julio was very good and friendly.

Excellent food, the tagliata was very tender and delicious, the antipasto and side dishes were also superb! Friendly service! Excellent value for money!

The grilled meat is excellent!!!

We came here after a day at the Tulip Festival. I highly recommend making a reservation given the large crowd. Four adults and two children ate, and we ordered the house antipasto and a selection of cheeses, excellent with the jams paired with the various cheeses. Various pizzas, tagliata, and pasta all'aglione. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, the pizza dough very light and digestible, the tagliata was cooked to perfection, and especially the sauce for the sautéed vegetables, which in my opinion was perfectly balanced, like homemade. I didn't try the pasta all'aglione, but the aroma was truly inviting. Kudos also to the desserts; the Nutellamisu was delicious. Service was quick despite the crowds, and the staff were extremely friendly. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

I think it's the best place in all of Umbria to eat grilled meat. The rib was like butter and it was so good we didn't add any seasoning. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely return with friends to give them an unforgettable experience. A heartfelt thanks to that great son of Julio for the excellent quality/price ratio.
