23/11/2025: Beautiful location halfway up the mountain with a fantastic view. Highly recommended as a traditional Austrian wine tavern. We were hiking and stopped for a snack. We ordered one set of spring rolls (pre-made, but still tasty) and one Kaiserschmarrn (too firm, not fluffy). We should have ordered Thai dishes; perhaps they would have been better, because: The restaurant is predominantly Thai-owned. The service was incredibly friendly and pleasant. Atmosphere: We sat inside (in November!). The decor is typical modern Austrian Alpine style (no longer fully paneled, but still lots of light wood). Sitting outside and enjoying the view is definitely worth five stars.

08/10/2025: This was our second visit to Ebeneich, and unfortunately, we arrived before opening time each time. But we still managed to get something to drink each time. And the landlady even brought us some bacon to go with our wine. And the view is simply breathtaking.

08/07/2025: Pedimos unos cafés, al principio el personal era amable, pero luego se dirigió a nosotros lo que creo que era el gerente (un hombre bajo y medio atrevido) porque jugamos a las cartas durante unos 10 minutos, cuando se dirigió a nosotros y dijo que eso no estaba permitido. ¿No se permite que dos clientes que pagan en un bistró casi vacío jueguen en silencio mientras toman café? Muy decepcionante. Como ex camarero formado, solo diré que la gestión de este asunto es increíblemente mala. Aparte de eso nuestros capuchinos sabían bien, pero la leche debería haber estado un poco más caliente, pero apreciamos que el personal que lo preparó pareciera hacer lo mejor que pudo : )

17/05/2025: Siamo andati a visitare Thuniversum e ci siamo fermati a pranzo al Bistrot Caffè al Volo Thun. Avevo già avuto occasione lo scorso anno di apprezzarne la qualità, pulizia e simpatia del personale in servizio. Un particolare ringraziamento a Maira che con il suo sorriso ci ha portato in tavola piatti gustosi e tipici di questo territorio. Grazie di cuore

Not only for the flavor of some ingredients that are no longer found in globalized mountain tourism... but above all, what you can't buy is Steffi and Julia's smiles! 😍😍😍 and the love with which the dishes are cooked and served!

20/01/2025: Das frisch umgebaute Restaurant heißt jetzt summit. Unter sehr kompetenter Leitung, komplett umgestaltet. Es ist elegant, aber auch ein schöner self - bedienungsbereich. Das Essen ist sehr gut und die Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam.

11/10/2025: We spent our fall 2025 vacation at the Plattehof. Everything was simply perfect: Room, half board, service, outdoor area with heated pool, wellness area, location and surroundings, view, friendliness and competence of the entire team 👍🤗 The attached restaurant/pizzeria offers additional variety. The owner, Werner, offered us and the other guests a unique and extremely entertaining wine tasting 👏 All in all, "SUPER!" We'd love to go back Maria and Holger with 🐕

04/09/2025: We spent 7 wonderful days at the Plattenhof. The rooms, gardens with pool, staff and host family, and food were all fantastic. Plattenhof, we'll be back. Angelo & Rita 👍

30/07/2025: Da molti anni mi reco in questo posto molto gradevole come panorama.Nei recenti anni sono stati fatti dei miglioramenti logistici ( bagni e nuovi locali) ma purtroppo si è via via è sempre più persa la qualità ( ad esempio appena sufficiente lo spezzatino di cervo, i canederli, la cotoletta impregnata di olio con patate salatissime) e la quantità (modeste porzioni anche nella pasta vedi pasta al ragù selvaggina) dei piatti.I prezzi in correlazione appaiono così eccessivi ( peraltro fanno pagare anche l' acqua di rubinetto in brocca 2 euro causa anche questo di parecchie proteste sentite in loco). Obbiettivamente un vero peccato

22/07/2025: Dopo una bella passeggiata ci siamo fermati qui. Abbiamo mangiato divinamente. Polenta con i funghi buonissima, tagliatelle con selvaggina meravigliose, carne ottima. Veramente buono

28/07/2025: Ich hatte das Restaurant aus meiner Kindheit in guter Erinnerung. Leider wurden wir an dem Abend sehr enttäuscht. Sowohl, dass für einen zweiten Teller (der zu spät zum teilenden Gericht kam) wurde etwas berechnet als auch der „Willkommensdrink“ der als Gast des Hotels umsonst sein sollte. Als wir das mit dem Drink anmerken wollten, wurde der Chef ausfallend und laut und hat (vermutlich!) das Getränk aus der Tasche seiner Mitarbeiterin (die den Fehler wohl gemacht hat) zahlen lassen. Die Mitarbeiter rannten rum wie aufgescheuchte Hühner, bei dem Chef und der ständigen Angst im Nacken wohl kein Wunder! Leider ein rundum katastrophaler Abend! Essen war ok! Große Portionen, allerdings keine besonders gute Qualität. ✌🏻

26/07/2025: Wir hatten den Ruster Biergarten eigentlich in schöner Erinnerung – mein Mann war früher schon mit seinen Eltern hier, wir waren mehrfach mit unseren Kindern da, und diesmal wollten unsere inzwischen erwachsenen Kinder ein weiteres Mal gemeinsam dort essen. Der Anlass war der 60. Geburtstag meines Mannes Leider wurde der Abend eine große Enttäuschung. Das Essen war bestenfalls durchschnittlich – eher Masse statt Klasse. Das Personal wirkte durchweg hektisch und angespannt, was wohl auch mit dem äußerst unfreundlichen Chef zusammenhängt. Es entstand der Eindruck, dass das Team regelrecht Angst vor ihm hat. Ein kleiner, aber bezeichnender Punkt: Für einen zweiten Teller zum Teilen einer Vorspeise wurden 1,50 € berechnet – mit der Begründung, dass es kein Gedeck gibt. Das mag formell stimmen, aber in Lokalen, die ein Gedeck berechnen, bekommt man dafür üblicherweise einen Brotkorb mit Öl oder Butter – hier gibt es nichts dergleichen. Auf der Rechnung war zudem ein kleiner Fehler. Als wir höflich um Korrektur baten, hatte man das Gefühl, dass die sehr freundliche junge Bedienung den Fehler aus eigener Tasche begleichen musste – was uns sehr unangenehm war. Als wir schließlich das Gespräch mit dem Chef suchten, wollte er erst gar nicht zu uns kommen. Auf unser Bestehen hin erschien er doch – jedoch ausfallend, respektlos und in einem Ton, der völlig unangebracht war. Wörtlich sagte er: „Dann schreiben Sie doch eine Bewertung!“ Dieser Satz spricht für sich – Gästezufriedenheit scheint hier keine Rolle zu spielen. Offenbar verlässt man sich auf täglich neue Kundschaft. Sehr schade – ein Ort, den wir einst mochten, hat sich für uns leider komplett verändert. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen – und können es auch niemandem mit gutem Gewissen empfehlen.
