31/12/2025: We stumbled upon it by chance, but we were pleasantly surprised. Just a few meters from the main road in Cortaccia, yet in a quiet location, there's a truly special place. You wouldn't expect it from the outside, but inside it's very charming and well-kept. The owner makes excellent pizza, thin and crispy, and is happy to chat with customers. The other dishes are also unique and more refined; you might pay a few euros more, but it's worth it. Highly recommended! We'll be back soon.

12/11/2025: I was there a few days ago. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service excellent, and the food very good. Prices were a little high at first, but considering the portions, they were average! It's a shame it's so far away, otherwise I'd gladly return often.

14/11/2025: We tried the bar once and found the staff to be less than courteous, almost annoying, and even greeting you with a "ciao" and the hot chocolate was watery. Only the chic atmosphere was pleasant. Failed.

20/01/2026: Good pizza, slightly dated atmosphere, average service. The main dining room is quiet, but the noise in the smaller dining room is too loud, making conversation difficult.

06/09/2025: So the pizza itself was good, but the service was disappointing. We booked a table for 10 people. We got there and the "new" girl, as we were told, didn't know anything, and we had to wait at least 10 minutes for the owner to decide where our table was because she was on the phone, minding her own business. She came to take our orders looking annoyed, then the pizzas arrived. 8 of us ate almost half the pizza before the other 2 arrived because she was working at another table. Once we finished eating, they cleared the table halfway (some dishes remained there until we left). We had to turn off the water and coffees 3 times. But the worst was with the desserts we had brought; she put them in the freezer, so they froze and we couldn't eat them. And lastly, I ate half the pizza. She told me she'd bring me a box to put it in, but they didn't bring it until we went to pay and asked for it. First and last time they've seen us. I'd say the service was terrible, that's an understatement.

15/10/2025: The view is amazing, and you can see a lot of stars at night. The breakfast is delicious, the room is very clean, and the heating is great. It's a bit out of the way, so it's best to rent a car. The owner is friendly, and the food is very plentiful. We stayed for three days and highly recommend it.

25/08/2025: We had dinner here, with the most amazing view. The staff are super friendly, kind and enthusiastic. The food was really tasty,you HAVE TO TRY THE APPLE STRUDDLE! I liked it so much I ordered a second one to take away.

The food is carefully prepared, balanced, and rich in flavor: each dish exudes attention to detail, quality, and a delightful harmony of flavors. The staff deserves special mention: friendly, discreet, and always attentive, making guests feel welcomed with ease and professionalism. The atmosphere is elegant without being overbearing, warm and welcoming, perfect for those seeking a pleasant and well-curated experience. 09/02/2026: The hotel is fine; it's small but comfortable and has a very nice view. Overall, the stay was pleasant. As a few things to note, when we booked, it seemed like breakfast was included, but in the end, it was charged separately due to an apparent mix-up. I recommend confirming this in advance to avoid any misunderstandings. They also asked for ID from all guests, even the babies. I don't know if this is a requirement because we were foreigners, but it seemed a bit excessive. Overall, it's a good place, and I do recommend it.

22/09/2025: Incredible find in Brunico! Elegant atmosphere, fresh and flavorful sushi, and even ramen and pizza for the kids. The highlight was the owner, Gian Maria, a trained sake sommelier, who personally paired premium chilled sake with our meal —> unforgettable. If this place were in LA, it would be my go-to spot. I’m a big sushi lover from Los Angeles, and while visiting family here in Brunico I wasn’t expecting to find great sushi —> let alone phenomenal sushi. To my surprise, walking into Umami Pizza • Sushi after a day at the waterpark, the space immediately impressed me. Elegant, well-lit, welcoming, and a vibe that instantly made me curious if the food would live up to the atmosphere. Spoiler: it did —> and then some. The dishes were outstanding. The coconut salmon ceviche was delicious and refreshing. Their salmon sashimi was fresh, vibrant, and served on ice to keep it perfect (my 8-year-old and I loved it). The salmon avocado roll was spot on, and the assorted fish platter tasted like it was cut moments before serving. My wife ordered the ramen, which she absolutely loved, and my 7-year-old had the margherita pizza, which was just right for him. Everything was high-quality, balanced, and beautifully presented. What really elevated the experience, though, was the service. Our waiter was warm, polite, and attentive, but the highlight was when the owner, Gian Maria, personally came to our table. I had asked about sake, and to my surprise he recommended a pairing himself —> not just as the owner, but as a trained sake sommelier. He explained how most people only know hot sake, but the premium sakes are best served chilled. He proved it with a gorgeous pairing, served in a bowl of ice, that elevated every bite of fish. Even better, he made the experience fun for my kids too —> serving their juice in wine glasses so they felt part of the celebration. That kind of detail speaks volumes about his passion and care. We was so pleased family all took a picture with Mr Gian Maria himself! Overall, the combination of elegant atmosphere, incredible food, and genuine hospitality made this a memorable night. You can feel Gian’s commitment to authenticity and creating something special for both locals and travelers. If you love sushi (or just great food), this is a must-visit.

19/09/2025: We really enjoy visiting Umami Restaurant, especially with the all-you-can-eat option! The food is truly delicious! However, I find it annoying that children under 2 don't eat for free. It wasn't a problem the last few times. Today, however, we were informed that children pay €18, but that at my child's age (21 months), it makes more sense to order something à la carte, since small children don't eat much, and the €18 isn't worth it for children. I was very surprised! I've never been to an all-you-can-eat restaurant where small children can't eat with the adults. We were ultimately not charged anything, so thank you! However, I really don't understand the policy. We ordered avocado maki (2 x 4 pieces) for our child, of which she ate 5, and I ate the rest. Most small children eat so little that it doesn't matter, or they try the adults' portions.

24/10/2025: We've been guests in Algund for years and regularly, often several times, at the Ruster Restaurant. The food was, as always, great, and the prices reasonable, even compared to other restaurants. The service, as always, was friendly and attentive. However, I really miss the South Tyrolean dialect of the service staff; they're increasingly speaking Italian, but we are in Italy after all :-) My only criticism, unfortunately, is the boss himself... I would expect a restaurateur and hotelier to at least briefly greet (not greet) his guests as they pass by. Two weeks ago on Sunday, we were at the beer garden for dinner, and some guests had asked the waiter to turn off the heaters because it was getting a bit chilly. At some point, Mr. Reinthaler came out, rather grumpy, walked past the guests without a quick greeting, and turned on the heaters. But as I said, this is our only "criticism," but it won't stop us from returning to the Ruster on our next vacation in Algund.

23/12/2025: Family-run hotel on the slopes. Step out of the ski room and put on your skis, no need to walk to the lifts. The owner, Mrs. Patrizia, is always kind and available to accommodate guests' needs. Second holiday here this year, and we'll be back again!

05/01/2026: Fantastic, fast, friendly. I happened to pass by on my way back from the markets, and I was intrigued by the boys' shirts, so I went in for a quick margherita. I didn't even have time to pay and it was already ready. If I could, I'd give it 6 stars!

14/12/2025: Ordered three pizzas, a Fanta, and a salad for delivery. The order arrived on time, but the price was slightly higher than average. The only downside: I paid for the Fanta but it wasn't delivered.

25/09/2025: No entry with dogs. That's generally not a problem if you make it known somewhere. We just kept going.

14/09/2025: A very bad experience, the owner was very unpleasant. When he wrote down an order incorrectly, he snapped at us: "Eat and be quiet." The owner was nice, apologized, and didn't charge for the incorrect dish.

23/02/2026: we stay three nights, got a free travel card (bolzano bozen card) and get to take cable car to visit ritten renon, very pretty view for sure. also travel free to olang to see winter Olympics etc. free breakfast from 8-9, the owner is also very nice, german and Italian works better, but with English, he also communicate with me via Google translate. very good location and price!

04/02/2026: We had a lovely time at the hotel. The rooms were good, although a bit small. The staff was great. The breakfast was also very good, with something for everyone. The location is close to the old town, a 4-minute walk.
