Weingut Plonerhof - Vendita Vini d. Simon Geier In Bolzano

Luckily, we found Plonerhof (on the recommendation of our Hotel Waldhof sommelier, Laura). A warm welcome and excellent advice. We bought the SOLARIS and the Cuvée. We hadn't tried the Solaris before. We will enjoy both wines, and especially the Solaris.

The 3-hectare vineyard is on a steep slope, so the grapes are hand-picked. They only sell to private customers, and unfortunately, it's not a place I can visit every year due to the distance. The family is friendly, and they can give tours in German and English. The owner is thin and had a beard this time, so he looked like Christ, and I instinctively put my hands together in prayer. Climbing up from the hot and humid lowlands on foot in the summer leaves you covered in sweat, but the cellar inside the facility and the shade of the trees where you taste the wine are cool.

Weissgold, a wonderful surprise! Kind and hospitable. A story of tradition and family.

The atmosphere is familiar and intimate, and the owners invite you into their home and open bottles as if welcoming a welcome guest. The wines, both white and red, are well-crafted and authentic. The WeissGold and Lagrein Riserva are definitely worth trying!
