04/01/2025: The restaurant is located in Montone, a short distance from Perugia, about 30 minutes by car. Without going on too long, I can only say that it is one of those restaurants where you want to return and as far as I'm concerned there are very few of them. Excellent welcome and food, all in a truly relaxing and tastefully furnished location. I will definitely return. Congratulations

03/11/2024: ATMOSPHERE AND PRICES LIKE A STARRED RESTAURANT...BUT WHERE ARE THE STARS? Exorbitant prices for a menu, wines and service with some slips. Too bad.

17/03/2025: Wifi for the menu not working. Okay. Paper menu, where half of the foods present were unavailable. Okay. Confusion and mix-ups in orders. Okay. Alcohol list non-existent. Okay. 20 minute wait for some fries, ok. 50 minutes of waiting for 7 sandwiches, chosen only from 2 types, (to speed up the time) all this with around 30 people present in the place and again with patience I say Ok. "Medium" beer of 33 cl (never seen before) Ok. Total of 3 sandwiches and 4 beers, 52 euros. We weren't even in the square in Taormina. Shameful, never again in life.

For the rest I had a good time even if there was no background music in the smoking room and in my opinion it should NEVER be missing in a pub (the room at the back is the one with the slightly softer lights), however I want to go back.

14/01/2025: Happened by chance with the family on Christmas day. I was expecting a simple meal considering I hadn't booked and it was December 25th. Instead we found a warm and welcoming family-run environment, excellent food, homemade pasta, in short, everything was delicious 😋

The raw materials are all local, pasta and bread made by them and absolutely delicious dishes. Fair prices. Definitely a place worth considering.

25/02/2025: The place is very nice... the internal rooms are well looked after... the fish is fresh but nothing special in line with other restaurants I frequent... in fact I would perhaps say one star less than others... but I have to make some considerations... the basket of bread (measly slices, perhaps a double 00 flour loaf... not inviting... uncovered and covered). There were two of us, no one wanted to taste the bread... The same bread used for the bruschetta with fish for the bread starter not of quality as well as the breadsticks... Honestly considering the price, the quality of the fish, the location I would pay more attention to the bread... the restaurants I frequent have baskets with quality bread... the fish in the starter was good but nothing special... For the second course we had a grilled dish... very good, right portions, but it was not accompanied on the table by a bottle of quality oil... Excellent oils are produced in this region... a drizzle of oil on the grilled... moraiolo or other..(presented in a bottle curated by some local company) would have made the grill superior...lastly we ordered two sorbets (they only had lemon ones) they were served to us like in an ice cream shop...in a narrow glass with a plastic straw that did not allow it to be "aspirated" (which then also lost the taste) which is why we asked for two spoons...good service...they had made a mistake in the order (one grill instead of two) but they immediately brought the second... overall there are no waiting times... I would say it's definitely average as a restaurant

30/11/2024: We came across Forte Sorgnano, and Marco on Hitched whilst looking for suppliers for a wedding in Italy. After having our original hopes dashed, when a similar venue was closing for refurbishment, we were keenly seeking out a romantic castle in Tuscany or Umbria. The process can be overwhelming and I had countless vendors reach out to me, some more professional than others. But the whole experience with Forte Sorgano stood out from the start - the communication was so thorough and professional, the pictures beautiful, and the flexibility perfect. It's also really important to note that budget and logistical needs were really important to us and can be difficult to meet, but we loved Forte Sorgnano because it offered everything we'd hoped for, accommodated all of our guests on site and still came in at a reasonable price. Marco was easy and professional to deal with from the beginning and put no pressure on us to book, but offered lots of ideas and creative options for how we could customise the wedding to our vision. We visited a couple of times, and this venue does not disappoint in person. In fact it's probably hard to get the full impact from pictures, but it is a beautiful estate, surrounded by greenery, with a refurbished castle atop a hill and overlooking the hamlet. It has everything you could need - a restaurant, accommodation, staff, parks for the kids, swimming pool, hot tub, even a farm. We love that they produce their own wine, olive oil and honey - and couldn't resist buying our own. We tasted the wedding food beforehand which was an amazing experience in and of itself - the food options were so varied and delicious - I've never had such great wedding food. We also tried out the wines but loved the Forte Sorgnano ones. The wedding ran smoothly - with our guests experiencing the same wow factor as we did. The rooms were clean, check in process professional, and the food delicious. We had a pizza party and cultural ceremony the night before which was accommodated so perfectly and the perfect welcome for our guests. The day itself was magical. The staff made us feel like royalty and the food and service was everything you would expect from Italy! The castle looked magnificient - and saying our vows on top of the gorgeous terrace was the most incredible moment of my life. There were so many unique and special touches throughout the day which made the experience unforgettable. The next day Marco arranged activities for us including a truffle hunt, wine tasting and a pasta party - it felt like our own homemade holiday as well as wedding and we were so grateful to have this precious extra time with loved ones to celebrate and relax. Thank you Marco and ALL of the team at Forte Sorgnano for the most amazing three days of our lives. We will never forget this incredible experience and can't wait to revisit. We just love the rustic, calm and inviting feel of this venue, and the unrivaled Italian hospitality on offer. We cannot wait to return as guests for our anniversary!

15/03/2025: Un sabato sono capitato in zona industriale per dare un esame di abilitazione: ho chiesto direttamente ad un lavoratore del posto dove poter andare a mangiare, e mi ha suggerito il Testone a pochi minuti di macchina. È esattamente quello che cercavo, un posto dove poter mangiare velocemente, con un'ampia scelta e spendendo comunque poco (non fanno pagare nemmeno il coperto!). L'unico dispiacere è che, volendo provare la torta al testo, non ho ordinato piatti di carne: spero di capitare in zona nuovamente. Mi ha fatto piacere vedere che c'erano tante persone della zona, abituali, a testimonianza del valore del locale. Una nota particolare la dedico alla cameriera, perché spesso non ci presto particolare attenzione e soprattutto in vita mia non mi era mai capitato di pensare "questa ragazza è perfetta per stare in questo posto": con molta attenzione alla sala, ma anche disponibilità per chi chiedeva indicazioni e soprattutto con una genuina simpatia che dona tantissimo calore e accoglienza al locale, senza bisogno di essere espansiva. Non dico che sia nata per questo, perché le auguro per il futuro di riuscire in qualunque siano le strade che sceglierà, ma di certo questo posto sembra fatto per lei.

26/02/2025: Sono ndata sabato a pranzo e abbiamo mangiato supplì al limone e la carbonara, supplì al limone come fatti in casa buonissimi e la carbonara ecceccente da provare!
