18/03/2026: I don't usually write negative reviews, but I wanted to share my experience honestly. I went there with a friend, and we ordered appetizers and Wiener Schnitzel. The appetizers were tasty, but I felt they were overpriced. I was quite disappointed with the main course. The schnitzel was rather thick, in my opinion, and had parts that I personally found inedible. What I found particularly disappointing was that my feedback wasn't really taken seriously, even though I mentioned it twice. This left me with a rather unsatisfactory impression. I understand that these things can happen – which makes an open approach to criticism all the more important to me. Overall, the visit was unfortunately not very satisfying.

The ambiance could be improved, perhaps with a few plants or something similar, but all in all, a good restaurant. I can't understand the many negative reviews here, because it was truly excellent.

11/10/2025: In the valley, you're informed that the alpine hut should be open and serving food. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. They don't take opening hours very seriously here. It's a shame. Was it better other times? Perhaps a different operator?

09/11/2025: Today we organized a birthday party at the McDonald's in the Bolzano Mall, and the experience was truly excellent. We received a warm welcome from the moment we arrived, and all the staff were helpful, attentive, and very kind to the children. The party spaces were clean, well-organized, and perfect for entertaining the little ones in complete safety. The team handled every detail with professionalism, ensuring a peaceful and festive atmosphere. The service was also prompt and impeccable: the orders arrived on time and were all exactly as requested. The children had a blast, and we adults felt supported at every step. It was a pleasant, stress-free experience that I definitely recommend. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the McDonald's Mall Bolzano for making this day special.

15/10/2025: Very often, the best coupons from the McDonald's app aren't accepted at this branch. It's a disgrace! Plus, a Big Tasty costs €9 in South Tyrol and only €6.90 in Trento! What's the point?

02/02/2026: A beautiful, modern building, but it's been extremely difficult to use for a year now, due to a constant lack of parking for both cars and motorcycles. There are very few usable parking spaces for both cars and motorcycles, and they're always occupied. Since there are healthcare facilities where patients are forced to attend appointments, this is a major impediment for those with mobility issues and unable to use public transportation.

06/12/2025: I ordered a pizza with salami and spinach. The amount of salami and spinach was really minimal: seven pieces of salami and very little spinach. It's unfair. The spinach costs 2 euros.

14/03/2026: The atmosphere is very quiet and clean. It feels like a place from the 80s, but who cares about the decor? I had a great meal, the pizzas were delicious, and the staff were very friendly. One of my favorite places.

07/11/2025: The interior of the restaurant feels like it's been there for decades... which is nice, but only up to a point. Good food, no complaints. The price is in line with the amount eaten. It's annoying, really annoying, to be handed a fake receipt when paying in cash. Just pretend like everyone else and don't fool people, thanks.

17/03/2026: What an absolutely nightmare! WORST SERVICE EVER! My biggest regret is I didn't check the 1-star reviews at this place beforehand, and avoid being here at all cost! First of all, food is overpriced and small portion. 18.8 euro for a lasagna that's barely a quarter of what you get in a supermarket's frozen section. Second, I have never been treated like this at a restaurant in my entire life! Our table made one payment by cash and one by card. Together, the bill was clear. Then someone in our group paid certain dishes again due to some miscommunication on our end. We displayed all of the receipts and went back for a refund of the double payment on certain items. The waiter, without even listening to our explanation, told us upfront that he would never refund us! He interrupted us at every half sentence, yelled and cursed, so that we could just leave. He then manipulated everyone at the restaurant into thinking that our bill was incomplete because he did not receive our cash payment, while in fact, previously, another waitress took the cash and even gave us coin changes. This whole process lasted almost 1 hour, and the waiter hysterically called us crazy for asking for a refund? Instead of checking what we have ordered and compared it to the total amount he received, he just preprinted out all the receipts of payments from us, and claimed we owe him all these amount. He even said explicitly, he had the money but he just did not want to refund us, and we could call the police if we want. Then to his surprise, we indeed called the police, because we would never tolerate such racist BS. It's not about the amount, but the principle! I could not imagine what difficult upbringing this waiter had been through that he had to scam tourists like this. Eventually, another tourist could not sustain the argument anymore, gave us the amount we claimed for, and to my regret, we left right before the arrival of the police, because we were short on time. Listen, if you need, call the local authority, and do not tolerate such behaviour. They still have customer just because they are at a well located place, but look around, all other places have rating over 4.7/5, while this place has 3.9/5. It's simply ridiculous to have your holiday ruined by going here.

31/03/2026: Our guesthouse owner warned us that no locals go there. And he was right. The menu was uninteresting, lots of deep-fried food, the service was indifferent, and the place was completely empty in the evening. We were the only customers. For example, the Wiener Schnitzel was made with chicken, clearly mass-produced, and deep-fried. It came with nothing but heavily salted fries. No lemon, no salad, or even a side salad. The other dishes were similarly uninspired. We won't be back.

21/03/2026: I've been coming to Obereggen and Platzl for 30 years and always enjoy it. We were really looking forward to our next visit. Unfortunately, under the new management and name, it's a disaster. Sometimes you're treated like you're in the way or not even there, you're seated in a dimly lit area, orders are sometimes forgotten or mixed up, and you're still charged for them. A large pizza is charged as a small one without any explanation. Communication is also very difficult. The prices are simply too high for the food, both in terms of quantity and quality. Today's lasagna bore no resemblance to the beloved lasagna of yesteryear. We'll be eating somewhere else. What a shame!

29/09/2025: You can order with the app, which is very quick. Good value for money. Some dishes, like the nuggets, are very poor quality. Business lunches sometimes take a very long time to pay at the cash register.

28/09/2025: My Wiener schnitzel was passable, but extra small. The potato salad was of rather poor quality; it was probably a ready-made product from a large container. I found my food far too expensive for the quantity and quality. Compared to the past, the restaurant has significantly deteriorated in both price and quality.
