The owners made us feel so welcome that they made us feel like old friends, not to mention the tasting of excellent Prosecco and other wines 🤗 The concept is simply brilliant, unforgettable. Go without hesitation to enjoy a relaxing break with such lovely people 😊

15/03/2026: I stumbled upon it almost by chance. I ate very well. True Florentine flavors. I had the francescisa dish, with a strong, bold flavor. The meatball dish was delicate, accompanied by excellent glasses of viso rosso. Highly recommended. They don't offer table service. Try it, but you order, pay, leave your name, and then sit down. Once your food is ready, they call you to the balcony to collect it. Must try!

12/03/2026: Our friends arrived separately from us and were recommended Yellow Door by their tassista for our large group of four adults and three children. He called and made a reservation on our behalf with the manager, Simon, who promptly set us up with a table within an hour of making the reservation. The entire staff was friendly and took incredible care of us. However, special thanks goes to our server, Guiditta, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and patient with our group of two families. She made great recommendations and we left feeling taken care of and appreciative of her attention to our table—as well as genuinely enjoying our conversation with her beyond her service. Florence always gets it right on the hospitality front, but I can’t imagine a better experience for a larger party and last-minute reservation. Well exceeded any expectations. Well done, Yellow Bar. We look forward to our return!

We had a wonderful New Year's Eve meal with an à la carte menu offering a good selection, and especially at a very reasonable price considering the occasion. The dishes were exquisite and carefully prepared, and it was a positive experience. We recommend you come and try their cuisine.

17/02/2026: Location: A spacious restaurant 30 seconds from the train station and very close to the historic center of Pontassieve. It features two main rooms, a small private area, and an outdoor area adjacent to the main road in the summer. The interior is decorated in a rustic, welcoming, and warm Tuscan style. Food: The menu features both seafood and meat dishes (though not predictable), but the pizza is my favorite. It's well-risen and easy to digest. The menu offers a wide variety of tasty and innovative options, often based on seasonal ingredients. A staple in several courses is the bardiccio, a typical local sausage, flavorful and definitely worth trying. Service: Courteous, punctual, and helpful. In summary: My wife and I often frequent Bastian Contrario for the excellent variety of pizzas they offer, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the attention to ingredients, and the beer pairings.

24/02/2026: Despite my limited Italian, I could still communicate with the nonna behind the counter thanks to a translator (an old Italian customer helping me order 😂). They don’t offer cappuccino but they have places to stand and eat, so they allowed us to buy a cup of cappuccino from elsewhere and have it here with their freshly baked bread/pastry (which we didn’t in the end). The pistacchio brioche was stuffed to the brim with a cream of white chocolate and pistacchio, highly recommended. Freshly baked bread was salted and goes so well with olive oil / jam. The apple pie was absolutely delicious with a handmade custard and some melted sugar on top, really divine and very value for money.

08/03/2026: Discovered purely by chance, but it was a wonderful discovery. The place is run by talented and friendly young people. Anyone who happens to be in the area shouldn't miss it.
