01/04/2024: If you pass through Certaldo I highly recommend stopping by for an ice cream at Ma ke gelato! In addition to the classic flavors there are other flavors that are all delicious. Natural ice cream and you can taste it! I haven't had ice cream like this in a long time!

03/04/2024: Disappointing experience for two families During a recent dinner with another family, we experienced several unsatisfactory aspects in La Capannina Restaurant, which significantly detracted from our evening. First of all, the quality of the food served was significantly lower than the standards of the area: the duck and wild boar ragù, in addition to being watered down, had cold pieces, suggesting a possible inadequate preparation, two portions of grilled meat requested well cooked were instead overcooked, almost inedible due to its hardness. We were particularly surprised and disappointed by the way the starters were handled. After a vague proposal from the "restaurateur", we found ourselves paying €15 each for two platters of cold cuts and cheeses and 3/4 mini pies, for a total of €135, a disproportionate amount compared to the actual quantity of food received and observed in smaller tables. The approach to wine selection revealed another misunderstanding: despite the explicit request for a house wine, we were offered a wine at €35 a bottle, a sign of an inconsistency between the offer and the customer's expectations . The final bill of €430, equal to almost €50 each for a dinner without desserts, coffee, bitters, or other extras, was particularly difficult to digest, especially considering the overall unsatisfactory culinary experience. Furthermore, the place was lacking in terms of care and cleanliness, with dirty dishes and a visibly neglected entrance to the kitchen, which further tarnished our experience. Comparing this experience with others had in the region, such as a recent dinner in a trattoria in the center of Florence (Pallottino highly recommended!) where, in the face of clearly superior quality and the addition of fine dishes such as Florentine, the cost was significantly inferior, we cannot help but feel disappointed and treated unfairly. This experience left a negative impression not only on us but also on our foreign guests, first time visitors to Tuscany, who had a first impression that was far from the hospitality and value we expected to find. We hope that this feedback can be taken into consideration to improve the quality of the service and offering, so that future customers can have a more positive experience.

30/03/2024: Made me sit right by the kitchen and the take-away pickup spot which was not so great as I had my dog with me and he constantly got scared by chefs and customers walking right past him. I asked kindly if I could sit somewhere else. There were two other people and about 10 empty tables but they refused. I can’t comment on the food as I left. I guess they were upset that I wanted a table for 1.

02/03/2024: Da 50 anni una certezza . Conosco il posta , ambiente familiare da decenni e non posso che confermare la qualità delle pizze ,la pala a spaziale funghì e aglio la mia preferita . Sottile e croccante la pasta , condita e speziata , ben saporita . Poi dopo le mitiche schiacciate fragole e mascarpone e nutella.eccezionale come sempre

23/11/2023: Il locale è minuscolo, lindo ed ordinato ed anche i pasticcini sono di piccole dimensioni, ma di grande bellezza e bontà. Soddisfano sia la vista che il palato. E' difficile dire quale è più buono tra il tiramisù o la pesca, i cubotti di mousse rivestiti di mandorle, le sfere al lampone od i cilindretti di frolla con la frutta. Creme leggere, sapori delicati, ma ben distinguibili. Ed il prezzo è contenuto per la qualità offerta. Il tempo non favorevole ha rimandato l'assaggio dei gelati: sarà per la prossima volta.

29/03/2024: The lunch at Osteria da Chichibio was amazing, one of the best we had during the entire Tuscany trip. We started with a Gran Tagliere Toscano platter (the onion jam is to die for, so so good) and then we had the Pasta Brunetta and Pici all Aglione. For me, the Brunetta was the best pasta dish I had in 10 days and I had pasta every single day. It was absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend it enough.

01/01/2024: Una cena davvero speciale. I piatti scelti erano davvero buoni e la signora che gestisce il ristorante ci ha fatto sentire a casa dal primo momento. Siamo stati davvero fortunati nell'avere la sala interamente per noi. Musica jazz di sottofondo e il camino acceso hanno infiocchettato una cena già perfetta di suo. Il prezzo pagato era assolutamente in linea con quello che abbiamo mangiato e bevuto. Da tornarci assolutamanete in un'altra stagione per godersi anche la terrazza.

04/03/2024: A completely characteristic place located along the road to go to Certaldo. The owner is professional but at the same time very approachable. Browsing the menu, you are struck by the "friend menu" option which offers two portions of your choice of starters, first courses and second courses, excluding two very specific dishes, for just €20. Very juicy offer if you want to divide and share dishes without any kind of venal resentment. The portions are generous and all very good. For celiacs the restaurant offers bread, croutons and pasta, so I would say it is well equipped. I will definitely go back, it was a beautiful and tasty experience. Enjoy your meal

14/03/2024: Without infamy and without praise. They are certainly attentive to the customer and courteous but the food, in fact, without infamy or praise. Furthermore, when what I ordered (I am referring above all to the pici) arrives after less than 3 minutes, it means that it has been cooked before and "kept warm", which I don't like. I much prefer to wait for express preparations. If I had ordered the ribollita then it is obvious that I would have prepared it first but the reheated pici (which arrived lukewarm) would not! Ditto for the second. It's probably a choice "designed" to serve the customer immediately but it's not for me. I prefer to wait longer, spend more but eat better so much that I want to come back.
