One flaw: the waitress serving the wine looked at us askance when we decided not to drink wine since we had a five-hour drive home. It's true that we're in a winery where wine is produced, but not ordering wine with lunch isn't a crime. Otherwise, everything was great.

02/05/2026: The food was fantastic! The waiters were also incredibly friendly. We ran out of water and all the shops were closed because of the holiday. One waiter gave us a large bottle of water, and we are incredibly grateful!

05/04/2026: We are lucky to have a restaurant such as this close to where we live. The food is "ottimo" and the "Borromeo" Chianti Classico riserva 2021 from the own estate is a delicious very well made powerhouse. Service, the beautifully laid out ristorante, everything is totally on par and tasteful. Next time it will be a bit warmer, so then we will dine outdoors: we will also be able to enjoy the beautiful views of the valley. For the 30th of may we have already booked a "pranzo" and a tasting of the estate wines to enjoy with the family that is coming over from NL and the USA. This was (and will be) the ultimate Italian (dining) experience!

29/03/2026: My husband and I just stayed 5 nights here in March and wow, wow, wow!! We are so impressed with the service, the stay, and the views! The rooms were so beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating — Claudia helped with breakfast each morning and always was so kind in setting up a table on the patio for us and making our coffees, and the staff were kind to give us silverware and plates for some snacks we had brought back. Breakfast always had plenty of options and fresh pastries, fruits, eggs, etc. We absolutely hope to return again one day. Also can’t say enough about the location - very central and convenient for day trips into Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and other surrounding towns. San Casciano in Val di Pesa is also a lovely town with everything you need - grocery, gelato, restaurants, etc! The restaurant wasn’t open for the season yet, so we will HAVE to come back!!!

06/04/2026: We visited this fantastic place for Easter Monday. I have to say, everything was perfect...the lamb stuffed with artichokes and the slow-cooked pork tenderloin were sublime! And the homemade olive oil...you can't get enough of it! The entire staff was courteous, attentive, and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

18/03/2026: We chose this place to celebrate my partner's birthday, and we couldn't have made a better choice. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, ideal for enjoying the moment without rushing. The service impressed us: a rare kindness and attention to detail that makes you feel truly welcome. The seafood is top-notch; admittedly, the bill is a bit pricey, but the freshness of the ingredients and the attention we received make it absolutely worth it. I didn't stay in the rooms, so I can't rate them, and parking may require a little patience, but the dining experience is more than worth it. A truly relaxing stop that I highly recommend.

18/04/2026: We happened upon Blu Bar Bistrot on our last night in Italy and all agreed it was our favorite meal there. This is a casual place with a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The quality, freshness, balanced and delicious flavors of the food took us by surprise. We were so delighted to find everything we ordered made with so much care and fabulous. We ordered Risotto, a couple sandwiches, wine, and a beautiful pear and pecorino salad. The focaccia was the best we encountered in 2 weeks in Italy. It was a perfect meal outside on a spring late afternoon surrounded by the conversations and the low key bustle of the pedestrian street in San Casciano. And the prices were so reasonable. One of the things we loved about our afternoon in San Casciano is that unlike nearby San Giminagano, for example, it seems like a city made for the people who live in it, not just for tourists. So next to Blu Bar is a green grocer with lovely local produce, a couple gelaterias nearby, and locals were having afternoon drinks and greeting friends as they went about their errands. The vibes were just so relaxed and friendly. Highly recommend a delicious meal at this place.
