20/09/2025: In the center of Baricella, Trattoria Venturoli is a must. Its menu features Bolognese cuisine, with frogs as a specialty. The risotto is out of this world, with a fantastic selection of fried and stewed frogs. The service is friendly and homey, and the atmosphere is reminiscent of the past.

25/08/2025: A restaurant stuck in the 1960s or perhaps 1950s. The menu features very few dishes, with frog specialties taking center stage. Everything we ordered was delicious. Rice with frogs. Home-made tortelloni with butter and sage. Fried frogs and cacciatore style. Special mention also for the potatoes and sautéed chicory. Spectacular fior di latte. Quick and friendly service. The price wasn't the cheapest, but given the quality of what we ate, it was more than fair.

25/10/2025: The food is good and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the place is quite noisy, which makes the experience a little less relaxing. Overall, a good place, but perhaps not ideal if you're looking for quiet.

12/10/2025: Absolutely fantastic food at la Taverna, we had the lasagne, a pumpkin filled pasta. It was so delicious. Its a busy place with great staff trying their best to fit as many people in. Loved it

03/10/2025: We were here for an aperitif. Excellent service, a relaxed atmosphere, and not too touristy, close to the university district. They not only served the usual chips with our drinks but also delicious bruschetta. A definite recommendation, away from the crowds.

16/10/2025: In Idice, just outside Bologna, there's this trattoria, where I enjoyed excellent tortelli stuffed with chestnuts and topped with porcini mushrooms. The dessert was also excellent: ricotta with caramelized figs. I recommend it to anyone passing through.

04/11/2025: Good value for money. We were served fairly quickly, the meal was generally good but not exceptional. Good value for money. The service could be improved. I can understand that during busy periods there might be oversights, but three times in a row is excessive.

04/11/2025: Luckily, we managed to find a table even by calling at the last minute. The manager and all the staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. We ate delicious traditional dishes, all gluten-free. The tagliatelle with meat sauce and the cotoletta alla bolognese were excellent, both gluten-free. Thank you for everything.

26/10/2025: This place, in my opinion, deserves the best. Young, friendly staff with a nice and good selection of food and wine. A small place, as the name suggests, with a lot of history and tradition. You can enjoy Bolognese tapas and much more, like the excellent fried meatballs.

14/11/2025: The best trattoria ever... and I've tried so many! The minestrone and roast beef are excellent, as are the many other options on the menu! There's something for everyone ;) The staff is on point, with a great team spirit. Open Monday through Friday. First course, second course, side dish, water, 1/4 wine, coffee: €14 Subtracting the first course or second course: €11. Compliments to the management! The best. See you next time!

18/09/2025: The restaurant is located in a quiet area, and the interior is very spacious. Four of us came for lunch on a Saturday and, at the manager's suggestion (?), wanted to try the house specials. It was a perfect choice: I wasn't thrilled with the lamb ragù, but the rest of the food was exceptionally good, even though I'm not a fan of spices. The meat was delicious, and the various legume-based sauces paired perfectly with the stew. I didn't particularly appreciate the traditional bread (too spongy), the papaya/coconut/mango desserts, or the special coffee they have, the name of which I can't remember (spiced with ginger and cumin). The wild fennel bread, however, is worth it. Worth a try, the prices are very reasonable, especially considering it's in Bologna: €90, including drinks, for four of us. We ate a lot.

16/09/2025: A dinner that was a true journey to Africa! The flavors are authentic and rich, the dishes are carefully prepared and truly delicious. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of atmosphere, making you feel like you've been transported directly to the African continent. The staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for those who want to discover new culinary traditions without leaving Bologna.

21/10/2025: This was a great experience. We had a cocktail in the bar first - terrific negroni for me. We were able to enjoy our drinks and then move into the dining room. The room is lovely with a stunning roof fresco. We opted to go with the 6 course tasting surprise menu. There were extra little amuse bouche through the meal. The service was excellent. The main older man with the grey hair explained each dish very well and seemed proud of the food. We really liked him. The sommelier was very good too. We started with a local white wine and then went onto a red wine. Both were lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It felt like a proper treat. I would recommend if you want a special meal in Bologna.

16/10/2025: Never to be forgotten…we have spent the past 4 weeks ‘living’ here in Bologna - visiting from Tasmania, Australia. Last night we came to I Carracci to celebrate both our 50th wedding anniversary and our combined 70th birthdays this year. From our first interaction with Simone, where we came in prior to ensure that we would have the correct dress code (as travellers), to the whole experience, we were blown away. The ambience of being seated in an historic room, served magnificent food (there was nothing that was not flavoursome nor so unique) and was topped off by being made to feel so special with a candlelit dessert decorated Buona Anniversario! 05/10/2025: We can now consider ourselves loyal customers, given the number of times we've dined at this osteria. Amole combines excellent quality and preparation of the products with a welcoming atmosphere and kind, attentive service. Many small touches make guests feel not just like customers but part of the place itself. It's difficult to recommend any dishes (but the fried chicken is a MUST try!): I'd suggest browsing through the many options, always paying attention to the spiciness of the dishes. In this sense, it's always helpful to ask the wait staff for advice. The quality/price ratio is more than fair, which, in Bologna, is a rarity these days.

06/11/2025: Entering this trattoria was like stepping back in time, into Grandma's Sunday kitchen, where only good and special things were served. Everything was exceptional at incredibly fair prices.

06/11/2025: A little outside the immediate city center, a small, authentic neighborhood restaurant offers incredibly delicious and comforting traditional cuisine that is also remarkably light: a true delight, and probably the best value for money we've experienced in all our years of travel! Special mention goes to the tortellini in brodo, the tagliatelle alla bolognese, and the pasta stuffed with cheese and walnuts :)
