18/09/2025: TOTALLY EXQUISITE DINNER ! My wife and I arrived in Florence by Bullet Train from Rome on Sunday, March 23rd. A well appointed king suite on the 5th floor of the luxurious Hotel Berchielli would be HOME for the next 4 days. Hard to beat that view of the picturesque River Arno ! Arriving back at the hotel after lunch at a cafe across the bridge I happened to ask the reception staff for a recommendation for dinner that night...il Paiolo was the response I heard one of them say. We headed out to grab some craft beer and stopped by il Paiolo to have a look inside....very nice, our kind of intimate Italian restaurant. A very sweet server named Nina suggested we make a reservation if we planned on dropping in for dinner that evening...so 6pm it was.

18/09/2025: Upon entering, we were escorted to one of the most inviting tables in the restaurant!😍 The atmosphere was very cozy! The service was very fast and friendly. The staff were excellent at advising us on which wine would pair best with which dish. We were also given the opportunity to sample the wine beforehand. The food was also delicious! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

29/09/2025: I believe this hotel deserves a five. The views of the city are remarkable. The service is impeccable and the rooms are clean with all the amenities one would expect. Nicholas was without a doubt, the best hotel host I have ever experienced in all my years. He and his staff constantly went out of their way to provide one on one personal service. From putting on dance music at night to greeting us in the morning with fresh food and champagne. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel above the city of Florence.

25/08/2025: A gem in a beautiful city. Close to the heart of Florence with the beauty and calmness of the countryside. Service was excellent, staff were friendly, every need anticipated. The food, the room, the courtyard, the pool, all well designed and convenient. Beautiful location. Highly recommend and hope to stay again in the future. Recommended by a friend.

07/10/2025: I don't know if it's due to language or cultural differences, but I felt a bit discriminatory towards Asians, and the service was rather poor. It's rare to see customers being made to wait outside the restaurant after entering. I even asked three times if I could be seated, and they just said "wait here," which felt a bit disrespectful. The T-bone steak was average, alright. At 94 euros, it's decent value, but the beef lacked some flavor. I personally prefer the richer flavor of grain-fed beef. Also, the rareness wasn't something I was used to; medium might be more to my taste. The salad was good, and the cappuccino was quite good.

The cuisine is a triumph of flavors and tradition: the lasagna, made with dough rolled by hand in Rita's kitchen, is a poem of flavor and delicacy; the Florentine steak is cooked to perfection, juicy and fragrant; the desserts are a fitting conclusion to a memorable experience. For dessert, I recommend the fragrant sfogliatina with berries, a simple yet irresistible dessert, and the warm cantucci with vin santo, which offer an embrace of authentic Tuscan flavors. Highly recommended 😍🤗 A place where you can feel passion, professionalism, and a love for good food. Sincere compliments to Rita: Barrino is a must-visit for anyone seeking the true pleasure of Tuscan cuisine.

16/10/2025: Rubia Fiorentina was beautiful. Much larger than other restaurants. All staff are so kind and helpful. Love Carbonara with Burrata as well.

12/10/2025: I discovered them during a motorcycle stop, and now it's a must-try every time I'm in the area. They're phenomenal schiacciate and pastries, in any size you like, and you can even make them on the spot! Among the best in Tuscany, in my opinion. The service is fast and friendly, but there's usually a bit of a line. Those focaccias are definitely worth the wait!

28/05/2025: A warm and intimate dining experience! We were greeted with a complementary glass of prosecco and many tasting dishes. The food was light, delicious and all freshly made. I would recommend and look forward to coming back!

13/05/2025: [Guaranteed emotion, taste, and service] I am Korean. I highly recommend Koreans who are reading this to visit this place. It is better to receive the best service here than to eat expensive and tasteless food in downtown Florence!! I visited with my 7 and 4 year old daughters. The owner of this place, Ms. Betania, was really, really kind and helpful. I ordered a basic pasta, but before that, food that I had never eaten before came out, so I asked if I had ordered it wrong, and she just said welcome and gave it to me. But it was really, really delicious. To be honest, I would have paid more if I had to, but they only charged me the price of the pasta. It was delicious and the service was good enough that I was willing to pay more. It was really nice that they really loved my daughters. I am leaving Florence today, and I will definitely come here when I visit again. I recommend Koreans to come here. Have a nice trip :)

01/10/2025: We were in Italy for three weeks and dined out every single night. This was hands-down, our favorite meal. The veal chop is sublime… Literally the best veal chop I have ever had in my life! Make sure you come very hungry because the portions are huge! Reservations are an absolute must.
