12/10/2025: A truly excellent experience. Traditional Tuscan dishes were delicious and perfectly cooked, paired with a selection of delicious local wines. We were treated wonderfully by the owner, who was always friendly, professional, and kind. We'll definitely be back!

03/11/2025: There's the legendary Giova for lunch. A historic family-run trattoria with a bit of a battle, with generous dishes and very competitive prices. Are you going to explore the architecture or do your shopping at the Sant'Ambrogio market? Why don't you go to Giova for a first course? Go to Giova! And for years, I've frequented it for a quick, authentic, and exquisitely Florentine lunch. Then there's the Giova del 2025 for dinner: where tap water (with cinnamon, as they say here) and a cover charge cost 5 euros, where the coccoli straunti cost 14 euros with a prosciutto that wasn't exactly fresh, the first courses are double the price of lunch, and the focaccia is stale. If lunch is a battleground, dinner feels more like the end of the war, with a rather sad atmosphere, reminiscent of this damned city that's lost its way. Too bad, I'm writing this review with enormous bitterness. But as a Florentine living abroad, it hurts a little. Go there. But for lunch.

31/10/2025: We had made a reservation prior because we believed the good reviews this restaurant has. It was honestly so overpriced. We payed 14€ for a plate of pasta when for lunch we had a 5€ pasta that was much better. The meats in both of the pastas (beef ragu tortellini and tagliatelle were not the best; and they even served turkey tortellini with beef ragu which was an odd and not delicious choice. The tortellini was so salty while thetagliatelle was bland. The tiramisu was the worst one we had so far. It was dry and we couldn’t even taste the coffee, just cheap biscuits. On top of all they had a 3€ cover charge with no indication. We didn’t even ate any bread before because other tables had olive oil while they didn’t bring any out for us. The reviews say the food is prepared by an Italian nonna but throughout dinner the nonna was just chatting with people and some other people were behind the counter. Don’t recommend!!!

06/10/2025: Wow! A place stuck in time, where everything feels simple and familiar, but with great attention to the decor, service, and customer service, and the incredibly kind staff. The traditional dishes are very good, and it's worth sampling and sharing a little of everything. Parking is fairly convenient on the street right next to the restaurant. Reservations are absolutely essential on weekends.

20/09/2025: The place is cute, historic, and has potential. The quality of the appetizers, first courses, and main courses is excellent. The house wine is good. The desserts need some work. The portions for the first courses are adequate, but more could be done for the appetizers and main courses, at the cost of raising the price by €1 or €2 per portion. The desserts are a sore point. We were the first table of the evening, and it's impossible to have finished the courses, or even nearly finished them. The dining room needs work, with greater care and empathy for the customers, and a few more smiles. I'm sure it was a bad night.

02/11/2025: Food was very disappointing. The steak was stone cold which we complained about. Then the owner/manger came out to tell us how wrong we were and that is how it should be cooked. He ranted for c.5 minutes despite us not even asking for anything off bill. Simply the worst restaurant manager I’ve ever seen. Very surprised they have a rating like this.

02/11/2025: Incredible, here we taste the typical Fiorentina ribollita (vegetable soup) and the paccheri alaaaaa ragù di lampredotto (caillette stew) and the cinghiale del calciattore (braised wild boar), accompanied by a Chianti classico with a beautiful texture. You have to go there to believe it

09/11/2025: I must say that Trattoria di Paolo is a tiny but welcoming trattoria where you can enjoy excellent local dishes. The menu doesn't have a lot of choices, but that already tells you that you'll be eating fresh, freshly cooked food. Anna, the waitress, is very kind and friendly. Definitely worth a try. I'll gladly return.

08/11/2025: My mother and I were rudely turned away because we "allowed ourselves" to enter without a reservation. We had simply asked if there were two free seats, and the owner responded by laughing in our faces and pointing to the door.

30/08/2025: We found this place on Google. We had an appetizer and a 1kg Florentine steak, as delicious as butter. The restaurant's interior is creatively decorated and full of history... it makes you feel right at home. We'll definitely be back!

13/10/2025: The best pizza we’ve had in Florence! The pizza had great structure, and fresh ingredients. If you like woodfired pizza, it’s a must try.

27/09/2025: The pizzas are good. We went in here to take a break during a downpour. The prices on the menu are attractive, but yes, there is a €2.50 service charge per person, which is something to take into account. The additional ingredients are also quite expensive: €2 to add tomato sauce to a pizza. A little strange, but the experience is still enjoyable.
