13/08/2026: Stopped by here on the way from Sienna back to Florence. I love mango gelato, and I find that the flavor of truly ripe mango it is one of the hardest to retain in gelato. This place absolutely nailed it. The best of the 10 or so highly-rated gelato shops I visited this month.

08/08/2026: Without a doubt, this was the best restaurant we ate at on this trip to Italy. The price was very reasonable, affordable, not cheaper than other restaurants, but even cheaper than a Sicilian restaurant we ate at in Roma. The food was excellent.

18/08/2026: We ate at the hotel restaurant and it was truly excellent value for money. The wines were good, made from their own vineyard, and the views of Tuscany were beautiful. It left a very positive and pleasant impression, and the service was great. Thank you.

14/08/2026: A typical Tuscan restaurant attached to the Sovestro Hotel and Agriturismo in San Gimignano, this very welcoming place offers a large and inviting terrace with a panoramic view of the hills in August. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, the service is prompt, and the cuisine is excellent. The tartare is a must-try, prepared and crafted in front of you with a wide variety of ingredients. It's unique and delicious, but all the other dishes on the menu, which are typically Tuscan, are very good. A wide selection of excellent wines. I highly recommend making a reservation.

28/06/2026: We went on a recommendation, as Montepulciano's restaurants cater to tourists. At Bricciola, you see locals, which is a good sign. The restaurant is tucked away and has its own charm, with classic ceilings and traditional decor. The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient. We had the typical pici and their veal, both delicious. At the end, they offered us their version of tiramisu, but I wouldn't recommend it; it didn't taste like tiramisu and was a few days old. Even so, it's highly recommended.

03/08/2026: Highly recommended, just steps from Piazza del Campo. Michele and Gabriele made us feel at home. Their cocktails (including non-alcoholic ones) are original, with a quality selection, as are their schiacciate. They also have excellent vegetarian options. You won't find anything banal here. Well done!

02/08/2026: A small outdoor spot (and the interior is spacious and beautiful) just steps from Piazza del Campo. Amazing cocktails, from classics to more original ones (Fritz and Pinko are tops). And the schiacciata is truly delicious. Special compliments to the owners, who are friendly and kind. We'll definitely be back.

11/08/2026: We chose this restaurant based on numerous positive reviews and the menu published by the establishment itself two months ago, which listed four first courses (pici all'aglione, pici al ragù val d'Orcia, vegetarian ravioli, and tagliolini al tartufo). When we arrived, we were in for an unpleasant surprise! The menu had been halved to just two first courses: pici al sugo e stracciatella and trofie al pesto (and two second courses). This happens in the height of summer, mid-August. So, in addition to the limited options, all the typical dishes one would expect from a restaurant of this kind in a small village in the Val d'Orcia were removed. We were left with a bitter taste in our mouths, especially since the dishes we ordered were truly delicious, the ingredients were top-quality, and the waiters were attentive and kind.

10/08/2026: Spurred by the good reviews, we wanted to try Ristorante Daria, located in the beautiful village of Monticchiello. The restaurant is spacious and well-furnished, housed in an original building that has certainly been renovated, preserving the characteristic local atmosphere. Outdoor seating is available, but we prefer to sit inside where it's not too cool but at least we don't sweat. The staff at the entrance and serving are young, cheerful, and very helpful. They tell us it's the first night with a new menu, so we decide to offer some healthy and constructive criticism. The menu offers at least one vegan/vegetarian option for each course, and it's appreciable. We skip the appetizers, although they're inviting, and order the tagliolini with summer truffle and the pici with tomato, stracciatella, and basil sauce. The tagliolini with butter is delicious, blending well with the truffle, which, given the season, isn't particularly flavorful or fragrant, but overall it's a good choice. The pici are (in our opinion) designed to showcase the simplicity and naturalness of the tomato, basil, and stracciatella cheese, but they lack a hint of oomph that could make them more succulent. Next, we had the pork capocollo and the legume meatballs, which completely turned the dinner around. The capocollo was tender, flavorful, and very tasty, and the meatballs were a truly successful surprise in terms of taste and texture. Overall, the dinner was very good, and we appreciated that the staff appreciated our feedback on the experience. The bill was reasonable for the price.

08/08/2026: Excellent restaurant in San Geminiano! Just steps from the city walls and quieter than the restaurants in the center. A warm welcome, a lovely menu of dishes and wines. The cuisine is refined and the portions generous. I highly recommend it! We were a group of 10 and it wasn't a problem at all.

08/08/2026: La Locanda di Vergelle is a little off the beaten path, and you’ll need to drive along a dirt road to get there, but it’s absolutely worth it. We were warmly greeted by Holly, the resident dog (who definitely loves a good tummy rub). The pasta was freshly made and delicious, and the owner was incredibly welcoming and friendly. A lovely, authentic experience. Highly recommend!

27/07/2026: Staying at the nearby Agriturismo S. Eurosia, we had the opportunity to discover the inn, which hosted us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The owner, Elisa, attentive to our every need, was a constant and kind presence. The family atmosphere was a key factor in ensuring comfort and authenticity during our short summer break. Courtesy, professionalism, and exquisite food. I highly recommend trying the Fiorentina steak and local cheeses. Don't miss the best cappuccino in Vergelle! We'll be back soon!

06/08/2026: We got to Siena late after a long drive. This restaurant was right near our apartment and we were immediately met with welcoming and helpful service from Robel. We asked for takeaway which was no problem and the pizzas were great and came out very quickly. The variety of pizzas was amazing also. Can recommend!

28/06/2026: Everyone is polite (owners and staff), decent menu, simple and tasty dishes, decent wine by the glass, the icing on the cake is its amazing desserts. I highly recommend the dolce della casa (the house dessert) with Mandola... It remains one of the best desserts I've ever eaten...!
