15/02/2026: During a family outing, we stumbled upon this place, and it took us back in time! Excellent food, friendly service, and all local ingredients. The menu is written on the blackboard, subject to availability! The dishes were truly remarkable; even my very picky husband smiled! We'll be back!

20/03/2026: Recommended to us by staff at a local winery, we first appreciated the approach, which is summed up in the menu's introduction (see photo). Everything was good, with the artichoke steamed in apple cider vinegar being exceptional (according to those who ate it). We appreciated the value for money. Recommended.

03/08/2025: Booked 2 nights at Relais Le Macine di Stigliano with very short notice. It is only 20 minutes drive away from Siena, in a pretty and quiet location. The rooms are nicely renovated, spacious and quiet. The pool area is beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was surprisingly good and varied (not always the case with Italian places). Staff was great, was super helpful when asking for tips and recommendations about restaurants and what to see. Very recommended!

The family welcomed us like we were one of them, the food was delicious, a good homemade meal full of flavors and love; delicious house wine. 16/03/2026: Really an amazing restaurant, I cannot reccomment this place enough! It has perfect location, charming view from a romantic terrace, wonderful stuff (Antonio is really one of a kind, his English the best I ever heard in Italy in 20 years…) and the food we had was delicious. Actually I was blown away the moment we entered the restaurant, as the waiter was immediately helping us with the babystroller and tried to distract our baby girl from having a tantrum in pouring rainy day in Siena. You can tell they know how to take care of their clients! The service only got better as they were ready to help us choose and in perfect English. We tried the seafood and also the burrata pasta and it was excellent. We saw other dishes that made us sorry we were there just for one day… We enjoyed their desserts, wine and the caffè granita too. The rain gave us enough time to savour it all… And all this time we felt welcomed, our baby included. We had no idea the restaurant had an amazing view and were able to see it as our waiter invited us to enjoy it with their umbrella despite the rainy day. His colleague even offered some interesting information about the city when he saw me looking at the pictures of Siena… they were very welcoming and professional, really a delight that made our visit so much better. All of them, the italian mamma from the kitchen as well. We will be back and congratulations to the owner, you have a real treasure. (Honest review of a demanding guest who looks for how the best service is delivered, as I got spoiled in Costa Smeralda. ;)) I came back later when the rain finally stopped for good to see the terrace once again as Antonio suggested, to know what to look for on our next visit. 05/03/2026: Very small but very welcoming place. You could eat there just for the friendly waitress, but we recommend it for the food, which is fantastic. The Florentine steak melted in your mouth, and the freshly made tiramisu was delicious. Great experience 🔝

20/02/2026: Very good local trattoria in San Gimignano. We were here in winter so about 80% of the restaurants are closed. How do you know this one was authentic? Packed with locals at 8pm on a week night. Must try if you're in the area. Sausages with tomatoes and tusan beans was delicious, will be thinking of this meal for years to come.

08/02/2026: Giulio's Florentine steak is unbeatable, accompanied by a good Nobile di Montepulciano. Excellent fresh homemade pasta and Tuscan legumes. Excellent cheeses.

14/01/2026: It's best to book in advance, the meat is excellent, the host shows you the cut of Florentine steak you'll be served, and if you like it, the food is excellent. What can I say, you have to go at least once, twice, or three times to enjoy all the delicacies on offer. We'll definitely be back!

29/11/2025: Wow, what amazing home style Italian food. This was everything we had hoped for in a restaurant here. The pasta was top notch, the tomato sauce was simple but unlike any sauce we’ve tasted before, and the meats were very good. Their wines were also amazing, so definitely do the wine tasting option. We cannot recommend this place enough.

02/01/2026: Terrible experience on December 26, 2025.... terrible welcome, terrible service (we ordered a cheese board and they put it on the table without even explaining which type of cheese was which, nor the matching jams 🤦🏻‍♀️). The pici with garlic were terrible, the sauce was pale, and the pasta was almost overcooked. We finished dinner and no one asked us if we wanted dessert (which I wouldn't have ordered anyway, given the service, etc.). When it came time to pay, all the waiters had disappeared to chat among themselves in the kitchen. I had to call them by going in where I shouldn't have been. Only the location is worth it. Everything else is terrible!
