06/04/2026: There were two of us and we ordered a "La Grotta" appetizer, with cured meats, cheeses, and crostini, and a cacio e pepe (cheese and pepper) first course each. The quality of the food was excellent, both for the appetizer and the first courses, with thoughtful and truly pleasing presentations. The house wine was also exquisite and paired perfectly with the meal. Unfortunately, there are some negatives to note: there were only three crostini in total (one of each type), and there were only two or three slices of cured meat. Considering that the platter is designed for two people and costs €28, the quantities seemed rather limited, despite the good quality of the products. Furthermore, the bread wasn't fresh and probably looked like it was made yesterday. Overall, a positive experience in terms of quality, but room for improvement.

09/04/2026: If you’re thinking about having your wedding at San Galgano, my biggest piece of advice is simple—book it. We had the most incredible few days, and the whole team were amazing. In the lead-up to the wedding, despite the countless calls and emails, they were always so open and communicative. It made us feel completely looked after and reassured that everything was in hand. They really took on board everything we wanted. We were especially keen to have our pizza party outside the night before, and although they were understandably concerned about the weather, they waited until the last moment before making the call—and it paid off. They moved everything outside and gave us a night we’ll never forget. On the day itself, the team were just fabulous—so warm, attentive, and accommodating. Nothing was ever too much to ask. I’ll forever talk about how special San Galgano was for our wedding, and we’ll always be so grateful we chose to celebrate there. Thank you to the whole team for giving us such incredible memories.

22/01/2026: We loved our stay at Borgo Santo Pietro and one of our favorite parts was the food at Trattoria sull'Albero. It was truly top notch! The restaurant itself is beautiful and cozy with several wood burning fireplaces and an outstanding view of the countryside. There were great indoor and outdoor bars, fire pits, patio seating, truly everything you could want. Onto the food, which was SO SO good. Hands down the best pizza we had the entire time that we were in Italy. Nothing that we had wasn't delicious. The wild boar pasta and the fermented purple rice salad were also both stand outs. You can really tell that the ingredients are coming straight from farm to table. We came home in October but I am still dreaming about this food months later.

12/10/2025: Wow!!! Out of this world! Food, service, ambience, drinks... everything was perfect and memorable. Highly recommended. Tricky to find, but totally worth it.

07/10/2025: A surprising discovery during our visit to the Abbazia San Galgano: a cute little bar with a lovely, spacious outdoor area in the middle of the forest. The concise menu with uncomplicated yet delicious dishes and the friendly service are only topped by the wonderful natural scenery. Dogs are welcome and readily provided with fresh water. We felt very comfortable there and set off on our next travels feeling refreshed. Be sure to try the Galgano red wine!

25/09/2025: The place is ideal for a break after visiting the abbey, then the church... so going downstairs you'll find this bar, ideally located. We ate various bruschetta (I recommend the chicken liver one, absolutely delicious!!), the excellent ribollita, and other first courses. There's a bit of a wait, but you can't always rush. The quality of the food is worth the wait. It's a shame I didn't take photos... take my word for it!
