The food was very good; I loved the risotto with basil and burrata. The food was plentiful and the service was very attentive, accommodating our every need. Highly recommended!

It's certainly not a place I'd choose, which is a shame because there are so few options in the area. I remember it being much better in the past. I hope they can improve.

You arrive in a clearing nestled in the Valchiusella valley, surrounded by greenery, silence, and mountains, and the journey itself is already part of the experience. Then you meet Francesco, the chef and driving force behind the project, who welcomes you as he would friends at home. Aperitif in the garden with artisanal vermouth, conversation, and that atmosphere that makes you slow down immediately. Upon entering the house, you take off your shoes and put on the slippers provided: a simple yet powerful gesture, because from that moment on, you understand that you're not a customer, you're a guest. The social table with just a few people (14-16 maximum) creates a genuine and spontaneous conviviality. Some have been coming back for years, while others, like us, are experiencing it for the first time. After a few minutes, it feels like being among friends. Their homemade bread, baked in their own oven with whipped mountain butter, is one of those things that alone is worth the trip. Incredible flavor, a powerful identity. The culinary journey is intelligently crafted: often homegrown ingredients, aromatic herbs, vegetables, seemingly simple, and a wealth of hidden technique behind every dish. Everything makes sense, everything speaks of the region. A wonderful conclusion with a truly unique dessert: hand-whipped gelato by Francesca, served on amaretto sponge cake and wild strawberries. Then herbal teas and specialty coffees round out an evening that stays with you. Places like this are rare these days. Authentic, human, cared for without being artificial. Rantan is a little bit of magic.

The risotto alla certosina deserves a special mention, truly excellent and prepared with great balance. The wine list is also excellent, made even more enjoyable by Maria's recommendations, who always puts guests at ease and suggests the most suitable pairing with expertise and passion. The atmosphere is refined but never formal, perfect for both a special dinner and a quiet evening. A place I'd happily recommend and always return to.

The staff was very kind and friendly, and they really turned our evening around. They also handled an unexpected situation caused by other customers very well. The atmosphere is welcoming, with the option of eating sitting on the floor with your hands, as is traditional. Reasonable prices. I recommend it.

Every dish I’ve tried has been top-tier. ​On a recent visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner. We bonded over our shared appreciation for authentic Ethiopian cuisine, and he kindly offered to host my friends and me for a special, authentic African dinner. We were treated to a selection of off-menu specialties, including a fantastic Doro Wat and various traditional Ethiopian and Eritrean stews, alongside some of the delicious starters from their regular menu. ​The service was charming and incredibly attentive. Our waitress was wonderful; she took the time to explain every dish and its ingredients in great detail, which really added to the experience. ​This place has become our go-to spot for dinner. Each visit brings back fond memories of my travels in Africa. Beyond the incredible flavors, the restaurant is exceptionally clean and maintains a very high standard of quality.
