20/05/2026: Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls is absolutely worth visiting. First, there are barely any people here. Really almost no crowds. Second, it does not have all the barriers, chairs, and crowd control setup you see in many other famous churches in Rome, so you can actually enjoy the space quietly. What also makes this basilica special is that, unlike many famous churches in Rome, its origins go back to the 5th century. Even though it was destroyed in 1823, it was rebuilt almost exactly the same way. You can really feel the process of how the Romans transformed their architectural style into a Christian church. It is a bit far from the main tourist area, maybe around ten something minutes by taxi, but definitely very worth it.

07/02/2026: Food was so tasty and prices are very cheap for this area, the staff was very kind too. I tried the one with pumpkin and it was very interesting but good. You should get a take away and eat it by the fountain in next street. Perfect vibe. I will come back again for sure

05/02/2026: The staff were very rude. I asked for help to figure out which pizza was which, and a guy wearing glasses was extremely rude and not helpful at all. We ended up leaving without buying any food. The atmosphere also didn’t look clean. I would ignore this place.

10/05/2026: We stopped here because we were staying nearby, and we read a few reviews, and they were spot on. It's a place mostly frequented by Romans, which is a huge plus. We tried a few items recommended by Małgosia and weren't disappointed. You can eat in or take out. So, at the end of the next day, we went there again and had a lovely chat with the other owner, a very nice gentleman (speaking a little Polish, a little Italian, and a little English). Thanks to this, we learned that everything is freshly made and homemade. In short, fantastic owners, delicious Italian food, a great atmosphere, and reasonable prices. It's no wonder locals eat there. We recommend it if you enjoy authentic food.

03/05/2026: Rome: Gasometer area. A very interesting Roman surprise, worth trying. The host and waiters are friendly and professional. The appetizers of tartare de chateaubriand and picana were exceptional, along with a fillet in truffle sauce and a Florentine steak from the Aosta Valley. We'll definitely be back!

02/05/2026: I had the fillet but I didn't like it very much, not even the meat, which is usually very soft, but instead it was stringy, plus the cream that accompanies it was missing some classic ingredients like a pinch of mustard. I don't know, it wasn't excellent, maybe I was having a bad day.

The food and quality are excellent, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options in addition to the classic meat and chicken options. 01/02/2026: Everything was truly delicious, from the raw fish tasting to the steaks to the desserts. The revisited Jewish-style artichokes with a special sauce were also excellent. The rustic atmosphere was very nice... just a little noisy.

24/01/2026: We celebrated a birthday with 50 people here at Borgo del Cacchione and were very satisfied. The room reserved for us was very welcoming, the staff were extremely kind and attentive, and the dishes were exquisite (Roman specialties, meat, and excellent vegetarian options). Everything went perfectly thanks to the team's professionalism and their attention to detail.

06/05/2026: Had hoped to eat here 2 years ago on our last trip to Rome but it didn't work out so we made a point of it this time. Since they don't take online reservations we asked our hotel to book it in advance. Would definitely go back. There were a number of different things on the menu I would like to have tried but in the end, we were in the mood for one final night of pasta so we went with the tortellini in broth and the bolognese. Both were very good. The staff were friendly and efficient. I noted that they were very polite to some people without reservations and were able to accommodate them after a short wait due to some no-shows. It is a small space with tables very close together but it wasn't an issue.

05/10/2025: I really have to compliment you! The croissants and parcels are truly divine! The pizza is nothing short of spectacular! For us celiacs, it's a must-try! I've been going there for several months now! I highly recommend it to everyone! Congratulations! The staff is nothing short of incredibly kind and attentive! I adore you! 04/10/2025: It was nice to be able to eat anything on display! The cakes were nice, especially the filled cannelloni, but savoury wasn’t great. The rice balls were dry and the pizza slices weren’t very nice. Service was not very friendly and coffee was average. Glad we tried it, but wouldn’t return - we found a nicer gluten free bakery in Rome (with much nicer service).
