28/12/2025: This cake shop has become a regular stop for me in Modena. The cakes are excellent, rooted in tradition yet reinterpreted with creativity and great care. Every bite stands out for its quality and flavor. The staff is extremely welcoming, and you can clearly sense the passion they put into their work. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a sweet treat in the city.

14/12/2025: The last time I was there was about 30 years ago and it has remained the same as then, both in the way the meat is served and in the general atmosphere. I didn't like it then and even less today. The buffet was infinitely sad and the quality of the meats didn't satisfy me. The only positive note was the friendliness of the waitresses. The price would be right if there was quality.

04/01/2026: Excellent quality piadinas and cassoni. With generous fillings. I returned two days in a row and bought some piadinas to share with the whole family. The service was quick, and the kindness was appreciated. My only tip: for winter, bring some mushrooms to keep you warm. Blankets are useful, but not with the freezing temperatures these days.

25/01/2026: We stayed for two nights in this fantastic historic residence! Hotel: beautiful, authentic. The historic common areas are breathtaking. It feels like being in another era. The room is comfortable, spacious, and full of amenities. The bed and the room temperature were perfect. From our viewpoint, we could see the peacock house, and we loved it. Restaurant: we tried both... the ancient Pallavicina courtyard has a fantastic menu, and every dish was rich in flavor and history (we tried the 15th anniversary menu). The dining room is beautiful, and the tableware is rare to find. Perhaps the only downside is the service... extremely slow, but I think there was a mix-up because we waited an hour between the arrival and the first course. There are many young people practicing, so you have to be patient because overall, it's a great experience. The Culatello Museum and the cellar with the culatellos maturing are the icing on the cake! A very positive experience, a very high-level, elegant restaurant (and with deep roots, without improvisation). The Hosteria del maiale, on the other hand, offers excellent local dishes and a small shop. Spending two days in this establishment allows you to better understand this rugged yet enchanting area and the history of this family over the years. Come without hesitation.
24/12/2025: This is an average at best experience at an extremely high and unjustified price point. Starting with the hotel: I only stayed for two nights and three days, but in my short stay I can list a range of errors, ranging from minor to serious. I was given a shaving kit on the first day, and never on any subsequent day. Several bottles in my minibar had already been opened and partially consumed. There were several stinkbugs in the room, I averaged finding 2-3 per night. There was a leak under my washbasin that led to the bathroom floor always being wet - informed the staff who were apologetic but didn't fix it. The WiFi was completely nonfunctional (for me and my family in 2 other rooms) for the entire duration of the stay. It was better in the restaurant area. These errors can all be forgiven if the intended experience is a humble and rustic farm BnB. But this is proposed as a luxury experience, and priced accordingly. Their reach far exceeds their grasp. In terms of the food at the Michelin star restaurant, the culatello was predictably excellent, as was some of the pasta. But I was served what I can without doubt say was the worst dish I've ever had at a Michelin star restaurant - an "invention of ortaggi (vegetables)" that was priced at nearly 40€ for 4 small squirts of slightly different textures of pumpkin paste, garnished with a vastly over-acidic pickled carrot. This was proposed as a main dish, whilst my family had pheasant and fish on their side. I'm not joking when I say it was literally much smaller than my starter. It's an insultingly thoughtless dish that speaks very poorly of the kitchen. Speaking of thoughtless, the service also needs a lot of work. Very inattentive and uneven. They left our glasses unfilled for 20 minutes - and delayed our starters because one person still had food on their plate from the amuse bouche - they hadn't touched it in 35 minutes and were clearly finished with it. The service wants to be the kind of Michelin standard where they store the water and wine off-table, but that system only works if the staff is extremely attentive and refills your glasses before you notice it's needed. As it was I was ready to get up and ask them to just leave the damn water on the table so I can pour my own glass. Again, for the price point, the restaurant far exceeds its abilities. This feels to me like a humble trattoria that got ideas far beyond it's station.

11/01/2026: If you can make a reservation, it's definitely worth it! A small, very quaint restaurant offering traditional cuisine and "rustic" ingredients, but truly exquisitely prepared. The menu isn't extensive, but it offers a nice selection, including passatelli, tortelli, rabbit, meat skewers, seasonal side dishes with cheese, and delicious homemade desserts. Personally, I was very satisfied, both with the food and the hospitality of the staff, and the quality/price ratio is excellent in my opinion.
10/01/2026: The food is excellent and the price is very reasonable. We have a small child, and the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and patient. When we left, we realized they didn't even charge us for his pasta dish! A true gem of traditional cuisine, definitely worth stopping by.

12/01/2026: A very well-maintained farmhouse, perfect for ceremonies and events, but also suitable for a vacation due to its convenient proximity to the highway and the cities of Parma and Reggio Emilia. The rooms are also very beautiful, spacious, and quiet. You sleep very well. The food is delicious and the staff is exceptional.
02/01/2026: New Year's Eve dinner 2026 with family and friends. The dinner featured excellent, generous dishes. The staff was friendly and professional. The owner even stopped by to check on everyone's dinner. The price was reasonable for the evening.

17/01/2026: We were passing by and the whole street smelled like cinnamon, so we decided to stop. It’s a cute, cosy small place, with amazing soft and warm cinnamon rolls. The girls at the counter were so friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
15/01/2026: I stopped by yesterday to order a cake for that evening, and the lady was super helpful! I chose a sponge cake with pistachio cream, which everyone loved! The cake was delicious!

Second time here, as always, never disappointed ❤️ Everything was superb, and the venison ragù (off the menu that day) was a delight; delicious desserts.
18/12/2025: The old brick walls and exposed beams with arches make the place very charming. The waitresses were very professional and kind. The off-menu item of the day, the tagliatelle with white rabbit, was phenomenal, as was every other dish.

02/02/2026: Divine traditional restaurant. We were passing through Traversetolo and stopped for lunch. The black truffle risotto was excellent, but I highly recommend the tagliatelle with truffle. They make their own pasta, and in my opinion, it's a must. The beef tartare is excellent, their parmesan is excellent, and the zuppa inglese is also perfectly made. I'll definitely be back, it's a threat to my diet. Review republished because it was censored by Google Maps for some reason.
18/01/2026: First time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was warm, the music pleasant and soft, and the service was kind, attentive, and professional. The dishes surprised us. You can choose from traditional dishes, but also—for us, an added bonus—variations that follow seasonality. The poached egg on parmesan fondue and asparagus was very good and perfectly balanced...I'd almost suggest serving it with a spoon to capture all the creaminess of the yolk and fondue in one bite. Amazing. The casonsei with pumpkin and amaretti biscuits was very good. The tagliatelle with hare ragù was, to our taste, a little salty due to too much salty ricotta. A special mention for the freshly made pasta. Everything was excellent. We'll definitely be back; we've been told the Thursday menu features fish, and the quality of the cuisine is tempting.
