11/05/2026: Small restaurant serving traditional Sicilian cuisine. The place is well-maintained and softly lit. The staff is very kind and attentive. The menu isn't overly extensive and varied, with both fixed dishes and seasonal options. The dishes were generous, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything was delicious. The ingredients were top-quality. We ate very well and I'm very satisfied. The prices are reasonable for what's on offer. Highly recommended!
11/05/2026: We came to try the Sicilian cuisine, especially because of the unique menu. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed by the food. The lasagna was okay but the couscous fish dish felt like it was reheated rather than prepared fresh. Similarly the focaccia wasn’t particularly good. The atmosphere was also very quiet - perhaps some light music would help.

19/05/2026: You can't go wrong with Francesco. I've known him for over 25 years, and he's nailed it! Beautiful location, clean, simple, and you feel right at home. The food is spectacular, high-quality and perfectly cooked, even the bread is top-notch. We all had fish dishes, as you can see in the photos. What can I say... A true spectacle! 🤙
Recommended to everyone!

11/05/2026: Fantastic food if you like seafood! The staff were warm and friendly, and you felt seen as a guest without them being overbearing. The food was very well prepared, and the wine recommendations paired with the meal were excellent. I can highly recommend this place and would gladly come back if I visit Bologna again!

18/06/2025: Ottimo ristorante, che in tanti anni ha sempre mantenuto una qualità altissima sia delle materie prime che delle preparazioni. Cucina originale siciliana, semplice e di altissimo livello. Servizio cordiale e attento. Uno dei posti nei quali io e la famiglia ritorniamo sempre con grande piacere.

Very good octopus with potatoes, not your average octopus.
Then the stuffed squid, which is like a journey to Sicily. A feast for the palate.
Good sparkling rosé wine by the glass.
Excellent lemon sorbet with mint.
Delicious and hard-to-find Zibibbo Passito (flavors I haven't tasted in 15 years).
The place has a perfect, relaxing atmosphere with jazz music.
The owner, Attilio, is exceptionally kind.

02/05/2026: We had a truly wonderful meal: the quality of the food was high and it showed in every dish. The staff was incredibly courteous and attentive throughout the meal. Special thanks to the owner, who even gave us a gift of Sicilian cantucci. We'll definitely be back!
25/04/2026: We spent two days in the beautiful city of Ferrara, but only this evening did we stumble upon the SORPASSO restaurant.
We know a lot about food, and I speak good Italian. 😁 WE found a truly excellent place. The staff are knowledgeable about everything;
from the welcome, to the courtesy, to the cuisine.
BRAVO BRAVI
After two days of eating around, asking for chili peppers and they brought me paprika, here at Sorpasso the chili peppers arrived. 🥰

03/05/2026: A restaurant for seafood lovers only. A local restaurant with the charm of the area, but this results in a limited menu focused almost entirely on seafood. They accommodated gluten-free dishes, but there were no pasta or pizza options. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was peaceful.
23/03/2026: A pleasant culinary surprise in the center of Bologna. Excellent food and wine. We'll be back soon!

The chickens are good, but they're definitely not free-range.
And, aside from the chicken, everything else is mediocre and expensive for what you get.
The girls at the counter should be a little nicer! It wouldn't hurt.

28/03/2026: The food was amazing. Home made pasta, we had the ragu and mozarella and it was very tasty. The service was Italian but we enjoyed it. Definitely recommend.
11/03/2026: Me and my italian wife decided to find a place to eat on the 07th of March and we decided upon this restaurant since all tables were booked for the evening and it was a saturday night. The first thing we were greeted by was this older couple where the husband seemed to be more busy with watching a game show on tv and a woman who looked like her only task was to keep the restaurant free of guests. Keep in mind, we were also the only people in the restaurant at that given hour. That can mean one of two things; either this is a hidden gem or something that would be seen on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen nightmares. Sad to say it was the last.
To enhance the mood the radio was blasting an assorted selection of best of radio pop hits from the 80s so loud that a romantic conversation was out of the question. Once we got the menu I decided upon a rabbit's leg and my dear wife a schnitzel. My wife, who is Italian, asked if the schnitzel came with a side of potatoes. The women then (rather rudely) said that we can have it but it would be charged additionally. My wife commented that having just meat with no sides of potatoes or vegetables is strange.. The woman then exclaimed rather rudely; Yes, it only comes with the meat. The people of Austria would probably have a word with the lady for that remark.
The food (please see picture provided) can only be classified as something a poor student who has just moved out of mom’s cozy home would make. The rabbit was served with a broth so tasteless that one might as well have boiled up tap water and used it as a sauce. Also not an amount of seasoning or as much as a vegetable in sight. The meat itself could only be classified in the same rage as biting into a cotton ball and tasted old and if they had frozen it and reheated it in a microwave. At least the server had mercy enough to recommend a Sangiovese wine for the food. It made digesting this culinary catastrophe easier on the tastebuds. The Schnitzel my wife got was about as tender as eating a shoelace.
The whole soundtrack to this macabre eating experience was provided by a blaring radio which blasted the finest tunes of the 1980s and the old man who sat right behind me and coughed up snotballs the size of golfballs. If those people used them for making the broth, it would not astound me.
And on that bombshell it was time to pay for a rabbit without vegetables, a schnitzel without vegetables, two glasses of sangiovese and a side of potatoes… (drum roll) They had the audacity to charge us 69 EUROS!!!!! (Sic!)
I have never in my life written a review of a restaurant but this is the first time.
Needless to say, STAY AWAY!!!
