12/04/2026: Nothing to say. Definitely not an everyday restaurant, but one for special occasions or culinary experiences. Refined cuisine, rich in flavor, but never bland. No detail is overlooked, and excellent service is ensured by Sandro and the housekeeper, who, near the end of the meal, goes around the tables to say hello and make sure everything is going well! I highly recommend this restaurant to Modena residents and tourists looking for culinary authors!
12/04/2026: An unforgettable sensory experience. A sublime dinner from start to finish. We chose the "Tutti al mare" tasting menu, a fitting name: each course was a veritable explosion of flavors and contrasts, interpreted with exceptional technique and passion. The atmosphere is inviting, warm, and truly comfortable, instantly putting guests at ease. Special praise also goes to the service, which was absolutely excellent: attentive, professional, yet never intrusive. An experience worth repeating and highly recommended to anyone seeking excellence.

05/04/2026: If you want the best tagliatelle ever, go to Trattoria Secca. The owners are incredibly kind, the prices are reasonable, and it's one of the few trattorias where you can still enjoy traditional Emilian fare made by a sweet grandmother. Book ahead!

30/04/2026: Perhaps one of the most interesting places to eat in Modena, very authentic and quite unique, located on the first floor opposite the market. The food is excellent: the pasta is delicious, and the main courses are a good example of the local cuisine. The atmosphere is less touristy if you go when it first opens, but as the morning progresses, it gets very crowded and it's difficult to find a free table. The service is good, friendly, and attentive. I recommend it.

The menu features traditional Modenese dishes that are of a high standard, but for dessert, you absolutely must try the cannoli or cassata, which are sourced directly from Sicily (the owners' home region). We had a wonderful time here for a quiet family lunch.

19/04/2026: Excellent service with nice and fast girls. Excellent and abundant fixed menu. Really good borlengo then trio of first courses and gnocco and tigelle with cold cuts and cheeses with dips. Dessert all for €25. Excellent price. The trio of first courses not bad, good and abundant cold cuts and cheeses. The dessert semifreddo with nocino was good. We had a very good time.

02/05/2026: We were passing through Modena on a road trip and were simply looking for a place near the highway to grab a quick lunch before heading back. We stumbled upon this "osteria," and upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner in front of a charming farmhouse. It's a shame that from there, more of a show than a meal begins. The owner immediately begins with long, nostalgic tales about the inn's past, the supposed excellence of the cuisine, and the fact that the menu was "designed specifically for the day." It's a shame that reading other reviews is enough to realize that the menu is practically always the same: the narrative seems part of a charade designed to sell authenticity where there is little authenticity. The real problem is that here, the customer doesn't order: the owner decides. We tried several times to ask for certain dishes and were continually interrupted or corrected, with inappropriate comments about how "we eat badly." After much persuasion, they finally brought us what we had asked for, almost as if they were doing us a favor. The famous "handmade" tortelli are honestly not the least bit convincing: all perfectly identical, industrial in appearance, and above all, hard and of mediocre quality. Some of us ordered meatballs with mashed potatoes that were completely bland, flavorless, and even visually unappealing. Meanwhile, the rambling monologues continued about the history of the place and the supposed special May Day menu, which clearly wasn't special. We skipped dessert. The coffee, billed almost as a gourmet experience simply because "they make it," was awful and not even a noteworthy espresso. The icing on the cake: a cherry wine that was simply undrinkable. Another unpleasant experience at the register, with problems paying by card and a completely unjustified bill: around €30 per person despite not ordering full menus, with some people eating only one dish and not even having coffee. Honestly, I struggle to understand how this place gets five-star reviews. More than a tavern, it seems like a play built on stories, fake tradition, and highly questionable quality. One of the worst gastronomic experiences I've ever had in Emilia Romagna.

09/03/2026: Legend has it that a place still exists in the heart of Modena, a tiny hideaway of culinary excellence where, upon entering, you're welcomed into one of the most authentic and traditional establishments. This small, intimate kingdom, a room with five or six tables, has been run dictatorially for the past 35 or 40 years solely by Signora Ada. In the morning, she goes to the Albinelli market to do the shopping, then cooks, serves, manages, etc. Just her and a unique passion. Exceptional dishes, always freshly made and never heavy. BUT THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR EVERYONE, BEWARE!!! There's a menu, but it usually directs you to the best of what the market has to offer daily, as she's the only one there, and therefore dictatorial. She'll make sexual jokes and thinly veiled innuendos that might make the uninitiated stiff. But that's part of the show and the convivial atmosphere that's created among the patrons. She's a unique character. Anyway, three appetizers: porchetta and snow peas, prosciutto and melon, cotechino and cabbage. Top. Tortelloni, and a main course of guinea fowl, shank, or whatever. House cakes, water, wine, nocino liqueur, and mokona coffee, or if you're among the last to arrive, go and drink it with her at the bar... €40. Excellent, light and not heavy, no less than the most prestigious restaurants in the city. A day out of the ordinary. Thank you, Ada, for your passion.
