03/09/2025: We had a great time in this little bar! The person who served us was really friendly and gave us good advice. There's a small variety of spritzes (I had the Cynar, which is reminiscent of Suze), which are pretty good, and he let me taste them before choosing. Go there with your eyes closed! Warm welcome, good advice, fair prices, and a little far from the chaos of the city center.

11/10/2025: Very close to Antinori and in the heart of Garbino, this restaurant was bustling with locals and tourists (like us) which made the atmosphere come alive in such a great way. Food: 5/5. We had Florentine steak which was cooked just right and full of flavour. Also a pasta and a side of potatoes, it was all incredibly delicious. Come dolci, we indulged in their panna cotta options and they nailed it on all aspects. Service: 5/5. Not much to say here other than they did very well and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our reservation was held and we were served quickly.

30/08/2025: You can't come here and not try the Florentine steak, it's a spectacle, and not only that, the potatoes baked in the wood oven are delicious, a very clean restaurant with a very trained staff and excellent typical local Tuscan cuisine.

29/08/2025: We called ahead and said we wanted to come, the restaurant is small, cute and located way up a small serpentine road. The service was great, at least one of the waiters speaks English and they have English menus available. The food was fantastic and there was a lot of exciting options to choose from, everyone at the table was happy. There were good options for me who eats gluten free and also several vegetarian options. They were both knowledgeable and accommodating, a wonderful experience. Also a wealth of local good wines to choose from, I highly recommend and I would gladly go there again myself if we have time before the end of the holiday.

12/10/2025: Disclaimer: I don’t write a lot of reviews because most restaurants aren’t worth the time and the reviews seem forced and un-genuine, but with Osteria Cancello dei Macci, it’s worth every minute taken to write how phenomenal the staff, chef and food was so that others can have such an amazing experience. I’d give this restaurant 10 out of 5 stars if possible!! Short and sweet review: Michelin Star quality without the large price tag (having eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants, pulling the card out at the end always hurts- but not here), with a homestyle service where you actually feel appreciated and welcomed. Longer more detailed review: Skip the Michelin Star prices and enjoy great value with exceptional service and food from a Michelin Star chef’s very own restaurant! Despite being booked at every table (because yes, it is that good), they found a way to get us in and did so with a smile. The maître d and staff were so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about their menu and the Head Chef/Owner even came out to talk with us for a few minutes which was amazing, getting to learn about his path from working at world renowned restaurants to opening his own with those same practices and attention to detail was incredibly insightful. Everyone showed true appreciation for all of their guests. The drinks were phenomenal, our side dish (we got the baked potatoes with rosemary) was melt in your mouth soft but with a crispy exterior (something in my decades of cooking I have yet to master), but, the star of the show was the Florentine Steak. It honestly was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, I’m still thinking about how good it was 24 hours later! Thank you for an exceptional experience all around, I hope I can come back someday just to experience it all again!

13/10/2025: I stopped for lunch. The waitress and owner were very kind... I had a main course and a dessert. Sliced ​​Limousine sirloin steak with blue Mugello fondue. Apple pie with vanilla cream. 🤤 The house wine was also excellent.

20/09/2025: My family and I had lunch here and it was a truly excellent experience. Everything was excellent: from the main courses to the desserts, accompanied by high-quality wines. The service was impeccable and attentive, with special attention paid to our four-year-old son, who was welcomed with great kindness. A restaurant that combines taste, professionalism, and customer service. Highly recommended!

From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and professional — the staff clearly take pride in creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. I ordered the Florentine steak, and it was perfection — beautifully grilled, tender inside with that incredible flavor that Tuscany is known for. The waiter recommended a local red wine to pair with it, and it complemented the meal flawlessly. Every bite felt like a true taste of Florence. Whether you’re a foodie or just looking for a memorable dinner with a view, Lungarno 23 is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the city!

21/09/2025: We discovered Il Ricettario while strolling along the river in Florence, and this hidden gem provided the perfect ending to our evening as we watched a beautiful sunset. We began with a generous antipasti platter of ham and pecorino cheese. For our main course, we ordered the ratracci pasta with tomato sauce and basil, and the ravioli with butter and sage sauce. The ravioli was exceptional — the butter and sage combination was absolutely divine. The delicious food, combined with prompt and attentive service, made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend visiting Il Ricettario during your stay in Florence.

15/09/2025: The food was exquisite! Both the pici with guanciale and the parpadelle with wild boar were spectacular. For dessert I recommend trying the homemade chocolate cake. As for the service, we were served by a man with a very good sense of humor and we had a very enjoyable meal!

14/09/2025: The best food we had in Greve in Chianti, we ordered the Pici and ragu which were so good we came back later that week. The staff is very friendly and joyfull which adds to the overall atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend eating here. Thank you for having us.

10/10/2025: Good heavens, I had a delicious meal here. It's a case of walking down an alley and finding truly delicious food. The staff was patient and kind enough to listen to my Louis van Gaal Italian, and the atmosphere was welcoming, like in your Italian Nonna's basement. This is one of those restaurants that makes you go to Italy. Tip: eat ravioli, and more ravioli. 5 stars for a full belly.
