Every year, while vacationing in Castiglione della Pescaia, I stop at this fantastic osteria. It serves traditional Tuscan cuisine, including crostini, game-based first courses, and the incredible Florentine steak, which always weighs over a kilogram.
Prices aren't cheap, but they're absolutely in line with the quality.
Highly recommended.

Delicious lunch and charming restaurant in rolling hills. Both meat and pasta dishes are wonderful. Food is much better than tourist traps in Florence. If you want air conditioning, make reservations of inside seating in advance.

A typical Tuscan restaurant with a handwritten menu, a wide selection of regional wines, and a very welcoming and warm atmosphere. They also offer sharing plates. Tuscan meat. Highly recommended.

A couple's dinner in a stunning and characteristic local location. The menu is traditional, visually stunning and unique. Excellent food, including a fabulous Florentine steak, and a wide selection of wines! The staff were extremely kind and welcoming. We stopped to chat with the owner, who is very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable, as is all his staff. Highly recommended!

In a town between Poggibonsi and Barberino Val d'Elsa along the Via Cassia, there's a rustic osteria inside a stone farmhouse, built in rustic Tuscan style from a former stable. It seats about 40 people under a pergola and features a well-kept garden. It's small in size but big on traditional Chianti dishes. Pope Pius VII stopped here on June 2, 1815, due to a sudden medical emergency, so much so that the place is known as "the Pope's piss" (a plaque inside the building is visible). Everything has been left as it was. The staff is attentive to their guests' tastes. The menu draws on the freshest ingredients sourced from local producers, reflecting seasonal offerings. The homemade pasta is delicious. Excellent wine list. The place is well-kept and clean.
