20/01/2026: A truly enchanting restaurant in every detail, chosen for our New Year's Day 2026 lunch, which turned out to be a simply perfect experience. The atmosphere is meticulously curated, and you can immediately sense their passion for hospitality. The staff was impeccable: professional, smiling, and always available, making you feel welcomed and pampered from start to finish. The food is extraordinary: each dish is an explosion of unique and well-balanced flavors, with evident attention to even the smallest details. Off-menu, we tried the cheek, incredibly tender and rich in flavor, a true delight. The Florentine steak, cooked to perfection, was soft and flavorful. The dessert was also excellent: a delicious apple pie with vanilla ice cream, the perfect end to the meal. It was all accompanied by a bottle of Chianti Classico Riserva Renzo Marinai, recommended by the owner, which proved to be an excellent pairing. The prices were absolutely fair for the quality offered. A New Year's Eve lunch that exceeded all expectations and one we will definitely repeat.

16/01/2026: How can any restaurant stand out in the wealth of wonderful dining venues in Florence? Well, Il Barretto can. The restaurant is charming, and the host and staff are wonderful, but then you are served such absolutely delicious food, and you say, "I think that we made a good choice here." It is as though every meal is prepared by someone's mother. Just stunning. Also, the wine paired so well. I cannot speak highly enough of the atmosphere, the service, and the exceptional food. The location of the restaurant is perfect for a pre-cocktail at Uggi or other venues. If I were you, I would go out of my way to dine at Il Barretto.

16/01/2026: Great dining experience across the board! The atmosphere is remarkable -- elegant but effortlessly comfortable. We split a Burrata as a starter, and it was deeply flavorful. For mains we had a Black Truffle Taglitelli and Ossobucco with a side of their potatoes. Every bite was a treat. We enjoyed a really nice Tuscan blend red wine that the waiter recommended (wish we had noted the name), and it paired very well with both our mains. We were far too full to order a dessert, but it was tempting. We had some terrific dining experiences in Firenza, and this is at the top of our list. Ben fatto!!

31/12/2025: It was a pleasant surprise to find Chinese food like this abroad. The food wasn't greasy, and there was a wide variety of choices. I would definitely come back to try other dishes.

22/10/2025: Honestly the best steak we had in Tuscany, me and my wife finished it in 6 minutes. We tried other steakhouses that were highly rated and honestly it wasn’t nearly as good. We also liked how we could have the option of medium rare/rare and the appetizers + pasta were super good too.

The service is still exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we walked in. The bistecca alla fiorentina remains one of the best in Florence—perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. A special shout-out to Davide and the lovely young lady who served us—they made the evening even more memorable with their warmth and excellent service. So happy we returned. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Florentine steak experience.

14/03/2026: I ate at this restaurant with my boyfriend and was extremely satisfied. We were treated to a spectacular Tuscan ribollita. The service was impeccable, and the restaurant is impeccably maintained. The quality of the dishes is phenomenal; there are no words to describe it. If I were to return to Florence, I would definitely return. The restaurant is also in a very convenient central location.

02/03/2026: A very welcoming and charming place, opposite Palazzo Pitti, with seating both inside and out. The staff is very friendly and cheerful. I had the lampredotto sandwich, and it was excellent, although it lacked the typical green sauce. My friend's sandwich, on the other hand, was pretty average. The prices seemed fair, especially considering the location. They also sell traditional Tuscan products, from wine to biscotti. If you're in the area, I recommend it for good-quality, affordable local food.

12/02/2026: A truly local restaurant, frequented by locals, you absolutely have to eat here. The food was excellent; they have a daily set menu at a very good price and also an à la carte menu. The Bistecca alla Fiorentina was amazing.

02/03/2026: There's nowhere to sit or get coffee, but they have desserts – I mean, the sweet ladies who know their stuff have made really good, simple cakes with excellent creams. I'm not exaggerating, we really loved them. I even told my husband we shouldn't buy anything or sit down, but then we came all this way and thought we'd at least get something simple to take away, and wow, it was amazing!

26/02/2026: I want to go back to Florence just to visit this shop!! I went there every three days of my stay, except for Sundays when it was closed. 🥹 There was always a long line of locals, so I had to wait, but it was worth it. 💞 The schicciata della fiorentina I had on my birthday was the best cake I've ever had. The crostata, filled with a nutty mix, was just like my grandmother's homemade cake. 😭 I regret not going back to the airport to buy more pies. 😭😭 Thank you for creating such happy memories that will last a lifetime. I hope you'll continue to visit this place again. When you enter the shop, try saying hello in Italian first. It's a way to show respect to the owners of this small, cozy shop. 🤍 I've fallen in love with this shop so much that I hesitated to write a review because I didn't want it to become even more crowded with tourists. But I have no other way to express my love, so I'm writing this. 💟
