26/07/2025: I called to order takeout pizza. The owner of the pizzeria rudely responded to me after I asked if he had other times available. He then got angry and hung up on me when I was about to confirm the time I'd previously given. For this reason, I'm forced to give the service one star. And if you have the option, don't go there.

24/07/2025: We managed to get a table without booking in advance, the food was delicious so we splurged on tiramisu for dessert, it's worth a visit

03/08/2025: We had a couple of slices of various kinds. We likes the tomato sauce pizza's with meat toppings the best. The service was great, they were nice and patient. Our dog was also allowed to be inside and on the terrace.

13/08/2025: Where do I begin? This hotel charges 5-star prices but delivers a 3-star experience. The rooms and social media posts don’t reflect true luxury or true florentine décor — the rooms are small, more like a motel than a high-end hotel. They serve basic American coffee in-room (no Italian coffee, surprisingly), and provide only one complimentary small plastic bottle of water for the entire stay — after that, you pay. The staff are polite but poorly trained. The rooftop pool closes at 7 pm and opens to the public, meaning paying guests are told to leave — shouldn’t guests come first? The gym is nice, but you have to book a time to use it, which I’ve never seen anywhere else in the world. Breakfast is disappointing, with Kellogg’s cereal and no real Italian cuisine. It felt more like a generic American buffet breakfast than a taste of Italy. Would not recommend for the price, go and stay at a 5-star family suite across the road at the Place or the Portrait.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and heartfelt hospitality. A special thanks goes to Alessandro, the front desk manager, who exemplified true professionalism—gracious, attentive, and kind throughout our stay. His thoughtful care left a lasting impression and truly enhanced our experience. The check-in process was seamless and conducted with the utmost professionalism. Our suite was beautifully appointed and thoughtfully stocked, offering every comfort we could have wished for. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Florence, allowing us to explore the city’s rich history and vibrant charm entirely on foot. The buffet breakfasts were plentiful and offered a perfect variety. The entire staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, always greeting us with a smile, which made for a wonderful way to start each day. After days filled with sightseeing, the rooftop pool provided a perfect retreat in the afternoons, where we could relax before enjoying wonderful dinners in the city. In summary, Grand Hotel Minerva is an outstanding choice. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, and we eagerly look forward to our next visit.

12/08/2025: Ci siamo capitati quasi per caso, cercando un posto dove mangiare una fiorentina nel Chianti, a pranzo in un giorno infrasettimanale, dopo aver trovato diverse serrande abbassate. E abbiamo scoperto solo dopo una volta entrati che era un posto un po' speciale. Da Padellina si mangia una cucina toscana semplice e ben fatta, con salumi locali e un'ottima bistecca alla fiorentina cucinata come si deve e ai prezzi giusti, certo. Ma è anche il contesto ad aggiungere qualcosa. L'ambiente è caldo, strapieno di oggetti, foto e biglietti da visita con i ringraziamenti all'oste, che è un personaggio. Il simpatico titolare, detto 'padellina', è un cultore di Dante che ama, sembra, recitare a memoria ai clienti (su youtube ci sono dei video, ho poi scoperto).

28/07/2025: Antica Trattoria del Turbone is a place to come, time and time again. A restaurant with excellent quality ingredients, prepared with care and passion. A wide variety of select meats; you can admire them all from their refrigerator and are excellently explained by the staff. The atmosphere is very familiar and the service is excellent; you feel pampered, just like at home. Excellent value for money.

04/08/2025: It's been almost 15 years since you were last here... So it's interesting to see if it's still as good as it used to be. The decor is almost as pared down and rustic as before. Only now it's even more simple. It's a shame, it lacks charm. The waiters are friendly, but their manners are very reserved... One must not forget that there are a lot of tourists here, and the mood isn't always great. But the food was, just like back then, good, simple Tuscan cuisine. The prices are reasonable. Considering that this area is teeming with tourists, it was relaxed and pleasant.

26/07/2025: The WORST Dining Experiences in Florence! My friend (a young Asian woman with long, straight black hair) found a short, curled, dark brown hair in her black truffle cream pasta—definitely not hers. She pointed it out right away. The waiter brushed it off and said, “That’s just truffle.” Her friend even picked the hair out with a fork and placed it on the plate edge to show him clearly. Then the chef (or maybe the owner) came over. Instead of taking it seriously, he tried to wipe the hair away with his finger like he was trying to cover it up!! After he wiped off the hair, he looked her in the eye and questioned her, “Where? There’s no hair.” We were all SHOCKED. Nobody said a word. It was only after seeing our silence that he came back and said, unwillingly, “I’ll get you another one.” Still no apology, no explanation, nothing. We all supported our friend, who stayed calm through it all though she couldn’t speak any Italian. She even had a photo of the dish before eating—the hair is clearly visible. The way he treated her—like she didn’t matter—felt incredibly disrespectful. Would the response have been the same if she were older? Or even not Asian? It really made us question their attitude toward younger travelers and people of color. This wasn’t just about finding a hair. It was about how badly the situation was handled. No basic respect, no responsibility. Just denial and blame. If this happened to your friend, how would you want it handled? Think twice before eating here.

24/07/2025: We ate here on July 24, 2025 and it was the worst food experience we’ve had in Italy (including Venice, Padua, and Florence). We ordered 4 dishes. 2 came out very late, about 30 minutes after the first 2 were already finished. We had to remind the staff twice to bring them out. The food was overly salty and not good. The fillets were the only decent part. Service was poor too. They were clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. Wouldn’t recommend.

24/07/2025: We had a truly wonderful time! The waiter, Dervi, was perfect: extremely kind, attentive, and always smiling. The service was impeccable. We ate divinely, but the real star of the evening was the steak: simply spectacular! Tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.

22/06/2025: Wonderful experience!! Wonderful visit to the winery with a detailed description of the viticultural differences of the Chianti valley and the wines of the group in general. Then we tasted 4 excellent wines, including a truly unique white and reserve, and a cutting board with bread and oil from the area. We also bought a wine from the tasting! An experience that we promise to repeat and recommend to everyone! A suggestion: please, open the restaurant too!! We'll book now!!

10/06/2025: Julia provided an unforgettable experience. We happened upon Vitique whilst driving through to Firenze, and she accommodated us without skipping a beat. Knowledgable, funny and incredibly passionate, this tour and tasting was incredible. We will certainly be stopping by if we are ever in Tuscany again! Thank you!
