10/06/2026: Food was excellent. It was a bit quiet when we got here around 8pm on a week day, but it started getting busier. The people that work here are super nice, checking on you constantly. However, the food here was our highlight - we had salad, fries and pizza and everything was great. Highly recommend this place for when you are in the area.

01/06/2026: Even though we've been customers for a few years, the welcoming atmosphere and excellent food never cease to amaze me. Another plus is the excellent gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan options! The gluten-free pizza dough is impeccable, delicious, and super digestible. The owner and staff are always kind, helpful, and attentive. Definitely one of the best pizzerias I've tried with these options in the last two years!

01/06/2026: The pizzas are really good, the dough is perfect, not burned underneath. It's the first time I've seen a pizza chef with a sink next to the oven to wash his hands between each batch. The staff is professional and friendly. My compliments, you can see the dedication and love behind it.

14/06/2026: A very warm welcome and friendly atmosphere in this bar. We had a generous mixed platter, which was excellent value for money. The sandwiches served also looked equally good. A great place to eat.

12/06/2026: …during my trek!!…on the “Cammino del Salento” route!!…I stopped here!!…for lunch!!…and for the official passport stamp!!…it's the bar/grocery/tobacconist “da Carlo”!!…a historic place in Salento!!…located in Porto Badisco!!…and it's said to be officially recognized!!…as a Historic Heritage Site of Puglia!!…in a room behind the bar there's a delicatessen counter!!…I'd say well stocked!!…lots of typical cured meats!!…cheeses!!…pickles and so much more!!…so much more!!…I had the puccia with tomato and mozzarella!!…and to drink a nice cold beer!!…then I went to eat outside!!…in fact here there's also a nice little garden!!…with some tables!!…what can I say!!…with kind and helpful staff!!…it was a really pleasant break!!…here “da Carlo”!!…historic bar/grocery/tobacconist!!…in Porto Badisco!!…Salento da live!!…🌭🍺☀️🎉⬆️🇮🇹🎊🌊🌭🍺‼️

07/04/2026: Matanzenu deserves 5 stars for the helpfulness of the owner and his entire staff! Even though it was Easter Sunday and we were a group of 15, they seated us at 11:00 PM. The place is welcoming, and the presence of a lit fireplace makes it feel right at home. The gluten-free fried food is varied and delicious, as a celiac sufferer can tell you! An added bonus is the safety: the waitress reassured me right away by telling me that the chef herself was celiac. Excellent value for money, even on a holiday. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the pizza by the meter because it contains gluten. I will definitely be back to try the other gluten-free options.

10/06/2026: The atmosphere and the staff's enthusiasm immediately make you feel the intensity of Italian, and especially Roman, culture, even though the osteria is located in Lecce. It's a good choice for Italians and non-Italians who want to eat Roman dishes, but needless to say, it's not quite the same, and the prices are more expensive than the pasta. For those who are lactose intolerant, there are no alternatives, because according to them, even the amatriciana sauce already contains cheese in the bottle, so it's not that they insist on adding it, but rather that the products are already set up that way. Even the pasta used was carefully chosen, and it's very rare for them to use another type upon request. The staff seems warm, but I don't agree with their tendency to repost a review on social media to shame certain people. It's a shame, because they have really nice social media pages and they just tarnish them like that. I'll be clear, I'm not angry with them, but I find it truly distasteful, even though we should already know that putting someone in the social media pillory to gain consensus is always condemnable.

09/06/2026: Our first restaurant of our stay in Lecce, and we would have loved to go back every night. Unfortunately for us, the owners closed just a few days later. The pasta was incredible, and the tiramisu was unforgettable (the best we've ever had). The prices are quite reasonable, and the staff was friendly. The setting is also very pleasant (a terrace at the back, sheltered from the traffic noise). The only slight drawback was the somewhat long wait, but it was well worth it in the end. We highly recommend it!
