04/06/2026: Antonio is super enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. He uses a translate app for those guests who don’t speak Italian. They don’t have white wine by the glass, but the rose, despite its colour, was a good alternative. The polpette (meatballs) and aubergine were delicious starters. The beef and pasta very tasty mains. Homemade bread .. so nice. “Mamma” was doing the cooking. Absolutely worthy a visit.

04/06/2026: We came across this restaurant by accident but what a pleasure it was! A definite must visit when in Tricase! The owner Antonio is so passionate about his restaurant and the food, cooked by his mother, is absolutely amazing!

21/05/2026: RECOMMENDED The strong point is the kindness of the staff. About the location, I'll just say there's a large TV to keep you company at one table. The Roman cuisine is excellent, considering we're not in Rome. The deal: For about €15 per person, you can try many dishes, including appetizers, first courses, and second courses, which are served at the table. I recommend going with two people if you're a big eater. You can also take any leftovers home. There's no waste!! For those with lactose intolerance, it's a different story. The porchetta is good, but it can't always be up to par. Nonna Pippi's cake speaks for itself.

29/04/2026: A great find in beautiful Calimera. From appetizers to pizza, including the schiacciatine, everything is a delight. The service is attentive and friendly, and the prices are more than reasonable, perhaps even a little below average. We'll definitely be back. Recommended.

01/06/2026: The pizzas are really good, the dough is perfect, not burned underneath. It's the first time I've seen a pizza chef with a sink next to the oven to wash his hands between each batch. The staff is professional and friendly. My compliments, you can see the dedication and love behind it.

07/04/2026: Matanzenu deserves 5 stars for the helpfulness of the owner and his entire staff! Even though it was Easter Sunday and we were a group of 15, they seated us at 11:00 PM. The place is welcoming, and the presence of a lit fireplace makes it feel right at home. The gluten-free fried food is varied and delicious, as a celiac sufferer can tell you! An added bonus is the safety: the waitress reassured me right away by telling me that the chef herself was celiac. Excellent value for money, even on a holiday. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the pizza by the meter because it contains gluten. I will definitely be back to try the other gluten-free options.

26/05/2026: Two of us came and found a seat right away. The old man is a bit grumpy and makes a few off-color jokes, and the waiter disappears every now and then. The pizza was watery (the toppings seemed to be floating and ran off), although overall it was good. The location is nice only because the church is in front, but people walk by and there are lots of flies that land on and over the pizza.

04/07/2026: Excellent place! I highly recommend it. The atmosphere, the food—everything was perfect. I'm so glad we found this place. We were looking for a typical restaurant, less touristy, and we were absolutely delighted. They had some great specialties and authentic wood-fired pizzas. In short, we loved it!

This restaurant was recommended by our Airbnb host Giancarlo, and rightly so! Go eat here if you love delicious and authentic (Italian) food and hospitality in an intimate atmosphere. Added later: we dined there as a couple.

15/05/2026: Best pizza I've had in Italy. Many speciality pizzas. Pasta, appetizers. Ate there 3 times in 3 days, each left full, good wines very reasonably priced. Wait staff very helpful in selections. This is the place to go! 4 more days here and we will eat here. Superb!!!!

02/07/2026: Excellent pizzeria, unpretentious terrace, but the main attraction is the food. The pizzas are truly delicious and generously topped, and the welcome and service are very warm. The presence of many locals is also a sign of quality. I highly recommend it.

28/06/2026: This restaurant is located right by the beautiful Porta Napoli, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. We chose this one because of its typical local and traditional dishes. The restaurant itself has a modern ambiance, which is also reflected in the young and friendly staff. The selection of dishes is particularly impressive. I opted for Lampascioni as a starter and Pizza Fritta Classica as a main course. Lampascioni are the bulbs of the grape hyacinth, preserved in olive oil. They are unexpectedly crisp and have a pleasantly slightly bitter taste. They are served as an appetizer and are perfect for sharing. The Pizza Fritta Classica is an interesting alternative to a regular pizza: The dough is deep-fried in small to hand-sized pieces and served with tomatoes, torn mozzarella, basil, and olive oil. This dish is also delicious.

07/03/2026: A trattoria in the historic center, with decor that harks back to the times the restaurant's name suggests. They say a good start to the day begins, and that was true from the moment we were greeted by the waiter. The dishes served only to confirm the restaurant's reputation. The cuisine satisfied every request, and we were able to sample the quality of the dishes and the chef's professionalism, both for the first and second courses. Special thanks to the owner for both his helpfulness and his hospitality.
