14/06/2026: A very warm welcome and friendly atmosphere in this bar. We had a generous mixed platter, which was excellent value for money. The sandwiches served also looked equally good. A great place to eat.

12/06/2026: …during my trek!!…on the “Cammino del Salento” route!!…I stopped here!!…for lunch!!…and for the official passport stamp!!…it's the bar/grocery/tobacconist “da Carlo”!!…a historic place in Salento!!…located in Porto Badisco!!…and it's said to be officially recognized!!…as a Historic Heritage Site of Puglia!!…in a room behind the bar there's a delicatessen counter!!…I'd say well stocked!!…lots of typical cured meats!!…cheeses!!…pickles and so much more!!…so much more!!…I had the puccia with tomato and mozzarella!!…and to drink a nice cold beer!!…then I went to eat outside!!…in fact here there's also a nice little garden!!…with some tables!!…what can I say!!…with kind and helpful staff!!…it was a really pleasant break!!…here “da Carlo”!!…historic bar/grocery/tobacconist!!…in Porto Badisco!!…Salento da live!!…🌭🍺☀️🎉⬆️🇮🇹🎊🌊🌭🍺‼️

20/05/2026: Great rosé and food, nice outdoor terrace to sit on in the shade. Unfortunately, very unfriendly and slow staff. Be careful in case of serious allergies or dietary requirements, as these are not taken into account despite mentioning them twice in Italian!

11/05/2026: A truly captivating experience at this magnificent estate: the occasion was Easter lunch, where we enjoyed the high-quality food in a setting immersed in the beauty of Salento's countryside, among olive groves and dry-stone walls. You can dine both inside and on the spacious outdoor terrace overlooking a large lawn. The owners' attention to detail, the food, and the staff, is evident throughout. I'll gladly return!

06/04/2026: We stumbled upon it by chance, through social media, while searching for a place to have Easter lunch. It was actually an experiment, with the desire to spend a quiet day eating something good. The result was very satisfying. A genuine location, in the open countryside, with the sea on the horizon, with the perfect balance between rural tradition and modern hospitality. The beautiful stone courtyard, nestled among the tourist cottages, offers a lovely panoramic view of the pool, shaded by a young pergola supported by Lecce stone columns, surrounded by citrus trees, and a magnificent pine forest on the horizon. The welcome was excellent, with the entire staff being very friendly and genuinely helpful. Given the occasion, the fixed menu was tasty, with authentic flavors, dishes that leave fond memories and the desire to return. Returning for the place, the taste, the kindness? Who knows, it's hard to decide!

01/06/2026: We've been frequenting this restaurant for two years now, also around this time. It's located just a stone's throw from Otranto. It has ample parking at the entrance, plenty of room for tables, and a distinctive, well-appointed interior. The staff is lively and attentive, as well as very kind, both in recommending dishes and choosing wines from their well-stocked cellar. During our two visits, we tried to explore the entire menu. We'd recommend their generous first courses, topped with homemade pasta. The quality/price ratio is excellent. It's definitely not a place for tourists, but a true working farm, attentive to their customers' needs. Sooner or later, we'll also try the wood-fired pizzas, but the quality of the first courses always wins us over. Highly recommended.

31/05/2026: Intrigued by the reviews, my wife and I decided to dine here. I must say, my wife and I complimented both the food and the service...that is, up until the first course...then came the second course: raw, unmarinated lamb, with a stench that made it hard to eat...I ate half of it, partly out of hunger and partly to try and give it a chance, but then I stopped, I was practically nauseated. I politely told the waiter that there might have been a problem in the kitchen, asking him to report the incident and to have both the strong smell of the animal and the degree of "doneness" of the dish checked. The waiter took the dish away, and from that moment on I never saw him again...then I ordered my favorite dessert, tiramisu, and was delivered an inedible concoction, not even the remotest relative of a tiramisu. I sent it back, reporting yet another thing that was wrong...the result...? The tiramisu wasn't added to my bill, but the lamb was... I politely complained to the waiter, who washed his hands of it and sent me back to the owner, who didn't even consider me. Moral of the story: I paid the bill and even left a tiny tip, but they'll definitely never see us again. Failed! Zero customer service.

01/06/2026: This boutique hotel overlooking the marina is delightful. Breakfast is served on a lovely terrace above the sea. The staff are super nice and cheerful. My wife and I traveled Salento for two weeks and this hotel was easily our favorite.

23/12/2025: My boyfriend and I went to this little restaurant in September. Fantastic place! We spent a bit because we didn't want for anything, but the quality of the food and wine was worth every penny. The fish was incredibly fresh, and they recommended the right wine to pair with the dishes. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service! High quality, definitely recommended.

27/12/2025: We stumbled upon it by chance, without a reservation, one day during the Christmas holidays. We'd heard good things about it, and it deserved its reputation: we had excellent raw seafood (compliments to the accompanying sauces), a first course (tagliolini spunsale and anchovy colatura), a second course (sea bass with chard cream), and two desserts. Everything was delicious! It must be said: the price isn't cheap. The service was truly friendly, both to us and to our dog. I recommend it for a special occasion.
