Chiostro Cennini In Sarteano

Found while wandering around on google maps, we discovered this cloister which deserves a lot, not so much, if there was a possibility I would have given the location 6 stars! In this place, in addition to fabulous culinary evenings, we took a journey through history, all described by the very kind owner (also all the staff). Original furnishings, excellent mise en place done with taste! Delicious food, you can feel the goodness of the products and the use of raw materials, generous portions and superlative desserts! There is also a beautiful lounge bar on site! Highly recommended! The gluttons!

We made a reservation because there was no space available the day before. The ambience is really exceptionally beautiful. Both inside and in the beautiful courtyard. The service was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, I wasn't entirely impressed with the food as I had high expectations due to the higher prices and the reviews. The tagliatelle with ragu didn't smell that good and only tasted mediocre. The tagliata looked very nice, but came out too English, even though it was ordered medium, and too rubbery in some places. The side dishes tasted very good. The dessert, white chocolate soup with passion fruit and crumble, tasted excellent. The wine was also quite good. The bar downstairs and the lounge area were very attractive, but after 1 bottle of wine we didn't want to drink any more.

Despite being on holiday until early March 2024... (I read this on the poster in front of the cloister) On Sunday 21 January they opened their doors to host me and the members of our trip to the Borgo. Let's start with the staff because I received excellent treatment. Good food and even better wine... a place with attention to the smallest details even if a little uncomfortable where I was... (sloping forward due to the attic) but it fits! Being inside a cloister that has its own history. 4 out of 5 stars seems like a good review to me. 👍🍷

If you have the opportunity to go to Val d'Orcia I recommend having lunch/dinner in the Cennini Cloister. The Cennini is a typical restaurant set in a very, very particular environment where it is possible to taste the typical cuisine of the Val D'Orcia. The owners will welcome you with their kindness and delicious dishes!!!

CRAZY place but cold staff. We ordered the starter which arrived after a short while but then the rest arrived after about 50 minutes (there were a total of 4 tables) We ordered three first courses, one sliced ​​meat and two vegetables… I was very disappointed by the cappellacci with chestnuts because they arrived very cold and instead of chestnuts there were walnuts. My brother-in-law is allergic to nuts and luckily he didn't order this dish otherwise he could have gone into anaphylactic shock. When there are such changes in ingredients it is very important to inform the customer. Very good pistachio tiramisu.

SEMPLICEMENTE UNA FAVOLA MERAVIGLIOSA

Location stupenda un antico chiostro. Sotto una cantina cocktail bar dove degustare birre aperitivi e vini, una bottega di generi enogastronomici locali e sopra una risto-taverna sulla bellissima loggia. Qualita delle materie, presentazione e servizio davvero ottimi, il vino locale rosso molto buono, il rapporto qualità/prezzo adeguato, si mangia e si beve tra i 35/40 euro. Locale consigliatissimo.

Posto affascinante e intrigante per la sua architettura e la storia, ottima cucina e personale attento e accurato, piacevolmente pronto alle richieste e agli opportuni suggerimenti sul menù. Piatti toscani piacevolmente rivisitati.
