Tucked away in the narrow, historic medieval alleyways, this restaurant was an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. Every dish felt authentic and carefully made. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional, making the whole atmosphere even more enjoyable. A perfect place to experience amazing cuisine in a truly charming and historic setting.

I don't know how many times I've eaten at this restaurant, which I've been coming to for years... and I'm satisfied. It's a casual place, the staff are friendly, the food is spotless (even the bathroom!!), the quality is good (the meat is exceptional), the wait times are reasonable, and the prices are reasonable. I recommend it to anyone who wants to eat slowly and converse.

Everything was good, the staff were friendly and the food was very good. We had the Cacio e Pepe (very famous in Siena) and a nice steak: we will definitely be back.

This place is a gem. We were horrible tourists: arriving 15 min before closing, accidentally ordering red vs white wine and they had to switch the wine for us, we didn’t speak Italian, we were in a rush, saying no to the bread (we’ve had so much we couldn’t take more). And despite all this, they were so kind and the food was so good and there was only one euro per person charged for eating in (normally at least 3 in touristy areas). Wine was a great deal at 6.50 per half litre and was super tasty. The pasta was perfect. We had the cacio e pepe and the wild boar tagliatelle. Divine. I would have stayed to try the desserts but we didn’t have time. Thank you, Osteria Da Gano, for an amazing lunch we won’t forget soon!

It was a lovely surprise! The atmosphere is beautiful and the food was wonderful! We ordered the pappardelle, the pici, and the house wine. I recommend it!

Tagliata di Manzo con rugola e granola + Patato al Forno + Tiramisu. That was our dinner, so delicious and the beef was incredibly tender 😋👍 I can highly recommend this Osteria da Gano. The staff is also very friendly and the price/performance ratio is excellent.

12/06/2026: The food is incredibly delicious. We had the bruschetta, 2 pizzas, and coffee with dessert. After less than an hour, we received the bill WITHOUT asking. There was only a 1-minute gap between the bruschetta and the pizza. Tasty, but they had to rush; a real shame.

From the outside it looks small, simple, and unassuming, but don’t let that fool you—this place serves some of the most delicious Italian food we’ve had. The restaurant is tiny, cosy, and full of charm, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It’s clearly run with passion by Italians who truly care about their food, and it shows in every dish that comes out of the kitchen.

02/06/2026: A gem! Top-notch cuisine, fair prices, and a fantastic location. I don't think you could ask for anything more. Excellent!
01/06/2026: Spurred by the many positive reviews, we decided to dine there. The menu offers several typical dishes, but the dishes weren't as exciting as I expected. The service was rather inattentive and slow; the wine even arrived after the appetizer, so I had to ask for it. Overall, the quality was good, but nothing special. I didn't find the many accolades I received from the experience.
