28/08/2025: Family dinner to celebrate our son's birthday in an intimate setting. A generous menu, perfectly balanced flavors, and finishing the full three-course meal (appetizer, two first courses that were supposed to be half portions but were actually full portions, tailored for a miner coming off a diet feeling rather pissed off, second course, and side dish) was a challenge! Of course, if you're expecting experiential cuisine, you're wrong. You come here to enjoy good company, pampering yourself with dishes from the past. And, let's be clear, it's experiential cuisine: the mixed roast beef with potatoes tasted exactly like the kiss your grandmother would secretly give you when your parents grounded you. To the legendary couple of managers, innkeepers and cooks, I can only say: don't give a damn about average tastes, and be more daring with some things. I think you'll do great. I'll definitely be back in the company of shady individuals I usually call friends. Threat or promise, I'll leave it up to you to decide! Kisses!

02/09/2025: Great place. We ate wonderfully. The house wine was really good. The finocchiona was excellent; the platter was highly recommended. Very friendly and professional staff.

13/03/2026: This restaurant was recommended by our friend's mason, and it was fantastic. Easily he best meal we had on this one week trip to Tuscany. The server (owner?) Sara, was attentive and her English was so fluent that our inability to speak Italian was not a barrier at all. For primi, we had pici with mixed seafood, eggplant parmesan, and potato soup. For secondi, we had pasta with clams, octopus, and a platter of mixed cuts of pork, including a sausage made by Sara's father. Each dish was arranged beautifully, as well.

01/03/2026: Excellent for both lunch and dinner (pizzas are only available at dinner). I've been coming here with family and friends for a while now, and we're never disappointed. The name "Castello" comes from its proximity to Montemassi Castle, just a short walk up the hill.

25/07/2025: I've been coming to Capalbio for 37 years, and Stefano's management is the best. The staff is also sensitive to the concerns of elderly people with hearing disabilities like me and other friends of mine who enjoy visiting. Everything is delicious, and the service is highly professional and kind. Congratulations!

21/10/2025: The food was questionable, the price was too high. Furthermore, in a public place, you shouldn't allow your friends to smoke while other diners are eating. A lack of politeness and respect. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced it was a terrible experience.

23/11/2025: Unusual and delicious breakfast pastries, as are the pastries and chocolate pralines. Excellent coffee. Not to be missed, despite the limited space and the resulting lack of comfort.

07/09/2025: While vacationing at the Baia Verde campsite, we discovered this restaurant. What can I say? The fried fish with battered vegetables melts in your mouth. Among the best we've ever had. The seafood mezze paccheri are exceptional. Fresh, quality ingredients. The service was in line with the dishes; the staff was helpful and very friendly. It's sad to see reviews from a few years ago referring to another management lower the rating. The prices are perfectly in line with the quality offered. Highly recommended!

06/09/2025: Delicious food and friendly service, although the dessert (cheesecake) was a bit small. Unfortunately, there were a lot of mosquitoes on the terrace, so don't forget your mosquito spray.

09/11/2025: We ordered take-away pizzas to take to the beach, but unfortunately we couldn't finish them. They were really too greasy and heavy, with a consistency that almost resembled plastic. What a shame! For two margheritas and two small beers we spent €23…

13/09/2025: We went there early september without reservation. The tables outside were reserved or taken but we were glad we took the table inside because it got a little cold later in the evening. We ate pizza aaand it was really good. Staff was friendly and it seems like its a lovely family business.
