18/09/2025: Excellent cuisine, desperate service Let's be clear: you come here to eat, and that's it. Because for everything else, it would take the patience of a saint. When finally, after a seemingly agonizing wait, your dish arrives, you almost forget about your nerves. The fried seafood is the real deal: dry, crispy, and tastes like fish, not stale oil. And even the first courses, like the seafood pasta, are thoughtfully prepared with quality ingredients. The problem is getting to that dish. We had made a reservation, but it felt like we'd made it for fun. With the place packed, we waited over an hour just for the first courses, with so much noise you couldn't hear and the waiters rushing around like crazy, without a shred of organization. The wait will make you hungry. My advice? If you want to come, do it when it's quiet, perhaps out of season. Maybe then you can enjoy cooking without getting bitter.

08/09/2025: Thanks to Antonio, who warms up the atmosphere with karaoke and dancing, in a pleasant, if somewhat cramped, setting overlooking the terrace... A little disappointed with the pizzas, which aren't exceptional, while the other dishes are good.

09/09/2025: We arrived at Lo Scalino on a stormy evening and had the entire marquee to ourselves. The intimate setting turned out to be incredibly romantic, setting the tone for one of the most memorable meals of our trip. From start to finish, the food was truly first class. My wife began with the seafood salad while I opted for the gnocchi with mussels both dishes were absolute standouts: fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. For our mains, we enjoyed the Trofie pasta and the Frittura. Once again, the ingredients spoke for themselves simple, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. If I had one small note, it would be that the Frittura had slightly more vegetables than expected in a seafood dish, but it was still thoroughly enjoyable. We finished with a refreshing Sgroppino, the perfect end to the meal. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server wore a smile, was attentive, and the pacing of the meal was spot-on unhurried yet efficient. Having been in Italy for 10 days, this was easily one of the highlights of our journey. We’re even considering returning before we leave. Highly recommended.

13/11/2025: Truly authentic cuisine! There were four of us, and every dish, from the antipasto to the primi, secondi, and dessert, was excellent, even if the desserts weren't homemade. The wine list was also very good. A lovely atmosphere with local people and a warm welcome! Go there and treat yourself. Thank you for introducing us to and sharing local cuisine!

25/09/2025: We visited this pizzeria and enjoyed a truly excellent pizza: light dough, well-cooked, and topped with fresh, authentic ingredients. The artisanal supplì were also excellent, crispy and tasty. Special thanks to the young lady who welcomed us: kind, friendly, and very attentive. Bar, sandwiches, restaurant, umbrellas, deck chairs, hot and cold showers with or without shower gel, disabled bathroom and even water games for the little ones. The staff is courteous and always smiling, the restaurant is excellent and fast even when full, the dishes are plentiful and the prices are in line with the area. Recommended for the whole family. Also accessible for people with motor disabilities. I recommend it wholeheartedly and for those who write negative comments, I have found myself in some situations, in my opinion the stress of work or family should be left at home instead of taking it to the beach ...

02/07/2025: Without taking anything away from the beach resort, which is very simple but complete, the restaurant is the real gem. Impeccable staff and truly exceptional food!

08/11/2025: Having moved from Porto Ercole to downtown Orbetello, I finally managed to eat there again today... A little more inconvenient for us, as we're always in a rush, compared to Porto Ercole, but the quality of the food (superb pizza and super crunchy), and today, given the rotisserie, an excellent lasagna and a delicate and delicious roast with potatoes, the friendliness and hospitality of the owners has not only remained the same but even increased. Now a second home for those who work away from home and are forced to eat out, I assure you in Argentario that's no small feat... Especially in the winter... I wish you the best of luck, you deserve it, and of course I recommend everyone to go to Squalo Charlie!

23/11/2025: The place is nice. Even though it was packed, they seated us almost immediately, and the service was efficient. We ordered almost immediately and didn't have to wait long for our food. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant. They paid attention to their customers. There were two of us. The presentation of the dishes wasn't great, but we liked what we had. We didn't like the desserts, though. For what we paid, you might expect something homemade. The only downside is the prices. They're definitely too high.

21/10/2025: We were a little apprehensive because the restaurant had a 3.8-star rating. However, it was the most popular restaurant, and that's why we went. The service was amazing, very dog-friendly. The food was delicious, and the portion price was great. The truffle pizza was particularly noteworthy. All in all, a fantastic evening!

04/10/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant yesterday by chance. The wait staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, even promptly responding to our request to move and light the fire pit to keep our two-month-old baby warm. The food was excellent, the wait time was normal for freshly prepared dishes, and the wine was also worth it. They accept dogs and were kind enough to provide a bowl of water if needed. I really liked that the chef (and I assume the owner) walked around the tables to make sure everything was okay, but without being intrusive. I highly recommend it and thank them for the wonderful evening we spent there.
